vArranger2 is working fine with other software and keyboards.

Despite the latest Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V 2.1.9 is installed and recognized in Devise Manager as "MONTAGE", it seems that there is a problem recognizing MIDI and AUDIO info from Montage (original model) .

I don't know if it's a Windows Midi Services issue or some other fix.

Based on your vast experience, if time permits, can you investigate online for a possible solution?

Yamaha Montage is installed and shown as MONTAGE in Device Manager.
In driver properties it shows Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver v 2.1.9.

I also cannot use vArranger2 with Yamaha because its driver is not recognized.

Any help is welcomed.

See results from Windows Midi Stack enquiry:

"Looking for wdmaud2.drv in registry
- wdmaud2.drv is not present in registry in values midi-midi9. Most likely, the feature has not yet been enabled on this PC.
- The new Windows MIDI Services stack is not functional on this PC."

Hopefully will be solved by next Windows update.

My intention is to also use Montage with VArranger2.

The latest Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver V2.1.9 for Windows 11/10 (64-bit) from Yamaha site is installed, but 
Montage MIDI is not on the DAW MIDI device list.

I tried other DAWS e.g. Cubase 15, Fender Studio 8, Cakewalk. with no success.

How do I get the ORIGINAL Montage not the new Montage M to recognize DAW MIDI inputs info.

I recently obtained a Yamaha Montage 6 original version (not the Montage M).

Steinberg Yamaha Driver 2.1.9 is installed and also show as MONTAGE in DEVICE MANAGER. OS Window 11.

I can receive driver midi inputs info from other keyboards and instruments, but not from the Yamaha Montage.

The Wizz, could you point to the exact page where Genos 2 factory styles re-voiced for Genos could be found? Seems like their forum no longer works? My understanding this will be the best fit to be used with Dan's Genos soundfont?

Problem solved....
When saving songs (SAVESONG), both the Main Left Track and the Sound Preset have to be
highlighted (Red) to retain the saved sound preset.

When I save song styles left-hand 1,2 and 3 sounds/instruments to various styles, they all revert to a lower octave sound on recall.

I have to click on the LEFT Main Panel strip next to the STYLE Panel to hear the correct octave each time I change styles.

How do I get the saved User Sounds (highlighted yellow) Left 1, Left 2, and Left 3 Sounds/Instruments to retain their default octave settings.?

It is now over 4 years since I also bought vArranger v1.19 and still have not received the 1.20 version update as you promised.

Your statement/promise is very clear and unambiguous with no attachments to any additional 50 euros yearly payments.

If others made subscriptions (200.00 euros) for the past 4 years without receiving v1.20 version, that's their choice. (Your financial gain)

The forum is replete with users' complaints about these delays.

It now seems that you are now trying to obtain an additional subscription from some users which they already paid.

Dan, you should honestly review your statement be humble and do the right thing.

I look forward to receiving my 1.20 version update.

I am a bit confused.
I bought version 1.19 with your assurance of also getting version 1.20 when released as stated above.
To date, (through no fault of mine) I still have not received the 1.20 v update you repeatedly promised in
forum posts.
Whilst I realized some time-consuming efforts in software development, this delay (now 4 years) was beyond my control and (IMHO) should not disqualify me from receiving the now released 1.20 version update as you originally promised.

This is a little bit complex. You need one external VST Host like Cantabile, and one good VST Looper. When I save song styles with different left-hand and right-hand sounds/instrument, the Right sounds are changing but the Left 1,2 and 3 sounds remain the same for all styles.

Based on his failure to deliver updates as promised over past 2-3 years, it is now obvious that Dan's brainchild (vArranger2) is now orphaned or moribund.

Well, here we go again.

I recall, it was 22nd Aug 2019 when Dan said he was working on new version and we pay a 50Euros annual update fee
The latest update released so far (now over 2 years old) is vArranger v1.19.13 with "Midi Clock Sync" feature.

Since then, despite numerous assurances, the developer has failed or refused to deliver as promised i.e. "with 10 GB of samples that takes only 600MB in memory", "new memory streaming technology", "10 VST instruments in live condition", and improved SD1000 DSP amongst others.

A cursory review of user forum posts under this heading vArranger -Updates?? and other similar post will clarify.

Dan's latest excuse for the delay now..... is that he is moving house and Hope to come back more actively soon.

Hmmm...(more actively soon).?

Are we "taken for a ride" or living in a fool's paradise?

Whilst we are on the topic of updates, vArranger2 last update was almost 2 years ago.
Anyone knows what's happening with the promised updates. 😡😡

It is now 1/31/2022, anyone noticed that the Ketron DSP issues have been lingering (unsolved) since March 2018 ?

Our pleads for Dan to release the "completed" new v Arranger version (if actually exists) are all in vain and have fallen on deaf ears.

Thus, any hope of a vArranger2 update is just wishfull thinking.

Just my honest opinion.

It is my opinion that vArranger was originally created as a musical software arranger for your personal use and not for sale distribution.
However, it have since evolved into a very lucrative business venture on your part eg. € 349 for the software, plus € 50 to transfer licence, (€ 100 depending on upgrade) and € 50 (revolving) donation scheme for updates.

Kudos to you on your insight and musical creative skills.

Lacking then, and even now, (by your own admission,) are supporting services for effective communication, marketing and future R&Development. This don't auger well for future updates.

I am a bit confused, why can't you obtain help as needed? vArranger is now over 10 years.

Your last 2 posts seems to suggest a feeling of impatience or resentment to users highlighting valid concerns regarding the promised update.

With all due respect, I think you're misconstruing my concern.

I am in no way disputing vArranger's versality nor Dan's ability as a competent VST programmer or coder.

IMHO, I think the problem is Dan's inability to effectively and truthfully communicate to users.

Surely, you are aware of users concerns and anxiety over the past 2 years regarding this long promised update. 

Based on your experience, do you know why the now completed new version (independent of DSP issues) cannot be issued to non Ketron SD 1000 users like myself unaffected with DSP related problems.

I am still awaiting a response from Dan.

Just to be clear, you were the one who promised 2 weeks ago, to issue the completed new version (pending DSP issues) because users were unjustifiable waiting to long (2 years) for the update, and rightly so.

I don't use Ketron SD1000 module, therefore, I am again kindly requesting the completed vArranger2 new version.

Hoping Ketron SD1000 users will enjoy DSP updates when completed.

I have laptop 32GB RAM, 500GB SSD, Windows 10 Intel Core , 3740QM CPU Processor, with Presonus Audio Box USB 96 Audio Interface, but sometimes experience latency issues (crackling sounds) on start up of some DAW's and also when using multi layered instruments.

What are the "drawbacks" if any, with using ASIO4ALL, ASIO, or the Low Latency ASIO as an alternate choice?

What will be my best Audio choice for vArranger2?

What is happening with vArranger2?

It seems that further improvements have stopped, and the apparent delays by the developer are likely ruses or smokescreens.

IMHO, the following questions should be answered now, to ease concerns amongst existing and potential users.

1. Is there really a 2020 update?. if YES,
2. What are the new features?
3. Why is it taking so long?

Yes, I am using vArranger v1.19.
If you change instruments on Hypersonic2 they show incorrect on vArranger.

Users have being waiting over 2 years now.

I did not use the "Send on Midi channel 1" option.

Yes, Hypersonic Instrument banks are numbered 0-0 to 0-120.

Although, I can play multi channels simultaneously, the problem is when I load Hypersonic instruments eg. Grand Piano, Strings and Organ on vArranger RIGHT 1, RIGHT 2 and RIGHT 3 (channel 13,14 and 15 on Hypersonic), they show up as VST 4> Standard, VST 4> New Groove, and VST 4> Forrestal on vArranger channel strip respectively.

I also tried sounds from other banks.....same problem.

Is there anyway to fix this to show the correct instruments on vArranger?

Yes loaded as VST4 in vArranger.

It plays the correct instrument sounds, but on vArranger RIGHT 1 channel they are shown incorrectly as VST4> Drums.

I tried both select/deselect : "Send on Midi Channel 1" on VST OPTIONS.

How do I get Hypersonic 2 VST to display the correct "selected" instruments in vArranger "RIGHT 1,2,3" Channel Strips?

I am using Korg's Triton , M1 and Roland JV5080 VST Instruments with vArranger. The selected .ins sounds from each VST plays correctly, but the incorrect  instruments (all GM related) are shown in vArranger Instrument Panel Strip and not the .ins instruments as selected.

How do I get the correct .ins instruments to appear in vArranger's Panel Strip?

and (2) say after creating a 12 bar RIFF, to insert/copy/paste those bars multiple times, instead of one bar at a time as it appears?

I installed a Ketron Style File in vArranger which has some nice RIFFS. How can I copy and save the chords in these RIFFS
for use in other songs?
In OPTIONS > SONG CHORDS they incorrectly overplay chords from a saved song chord file I created.

It would be much easier to copy/paste than figuring out "by ear" the chords used and then input in song chords.

When I click "send clock" in Midi Out Settings, (Motif XS is selected), I get constant humming and freeze/hang-ups when trying to record midi songs
from vArranger into Motif XS sequencer. It seems vArranger sends continuous midi info to the Motif immediately on sync, even before recording starts.
I have to restart Motif, my computer and vArranger each time to clear the humming noise and record freeze.

Note: Send Clock is always unchecked otherwise.

I have no such issues recording midi into the Motif from Cakewalk or BIAB.

Any suggestions?

How do I relocate some of my sf2 instruments in vArranger GUI that are shown under the wrong VOICE headings, eg. some Organs under PAD, Guitars under FLUTE, Vocals under STRINGS etc.
When I Copy and Save as user voice under the correct headings it only duplicate voices.
Is there anyway to correct this?
I tried Polyphone to delete/export but to no avail.

I rename and save Keyscape LA Custom C7 Ballad (Piano) and JD800 Crystal Rhodes (El. Piano) to Style Variations A and B respectively using Song (SAVE SONG) and also the Sound (SAVE RIGHT SOUND / SAVE LEFT.

The new sounds LA Custom C7 and JD800 Crystal Rhodes show correctly as User Sounds in the Right GUI.

When I click on Variation A, LA Custom C7 plays but when I click on Variation B, the name changes correctly but plays the Piano sound of Variation A.

Unlike the sf2 sounds which change and plays automatically with variations, I have to do manually in Keyscape each time.

On Korg Triton and M1 VST's, the sound defaults to their initial instruments settings when I change variation styles.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks , I use Polyphone and rename Essential Keys sf2's to 2@.......etc.
They are working in vArranger, but some instruments are sent to incorrect sound classifications.
Example:  Strings>Guitar, Piano>Bass, Trumpet>Electric Piano etc.
I saved as USER RIGHT SOUND, but end up with duplicated sounds.
When I delete the initial sf2 instrument in Polyphone, the USER VOICE then changes to GM sound.

How can I delete incorrect place sf2 sounds in vArranger? What happens if I rename sf2's as 1@.......?

In addition to the in-built vArranger sf2 sounds, I am also using Ketron SD1000 (in sf2 format).
If I load another sf2 bank say Essential Keys, the sounds in Essential Keys defaults to GM and sound same like Ketron GM sounds.
As an example, 0.0.0 Essential Keys -Yamaha C5 Grand Piano (name remains) but sound like 0.0.0. SD 1000 Grand Piano.(GM), Essential Keys-0.0.1 Large Concert Grand sound like 0.0.1 Rock Piano (GM)

How can I retain Essential Keys sf2 sounds or at least some of them to use with SD1000 sf2 and vArranger built-in sf2 instruments.

Yes, I can SAVE RIGHT/LEFT Sounds, drag & drop into the MY SOUNDS bar, recall and save many instruments (registrations) for various styles and A,B,C and D accompaniments. This not a problem.
I am specifically referring to OTS Single and Multi Sounds programmed by the style creator. It seems that these "bonus ideas"    resides only in the OTS and cannot be saved independently as SAVE RIGHT/LEFT SOUNDS as you mentioned. It is also noted that the highlighted (selected) OTS disappears when trying to SAVE.

Followed your instructions.

I saved OTS (1,2,3 and 4) as RIGHT SOUNDS , gave new names and saved as other presets.
It seems that the Main (20) Instrument Panel doesn't "see" these changes to automatically display instruments in the Right GUI
and the Channel Strip Panel.
On using the same (revised) style again, you have to manually select Instruments on Main (20) Panel Menu and then click on Right GUI
to show on Channel Strip Panel.

If you click OTS 1,2,3,4 again, instruments as shown on Channel Strip Panel, but they are not reflected in Main (20) Panel Menu or Right GUI.

Could this be implemented in next upgrade to automatically link OTS instruments with Main (20) Panel Menu and Right GUI?

Notwithstanding the above, the updated vArranger v19.12 software appears to be working satisfactorily so far.

I have to do this manually for every track on each style to work. It would help if done automatically I observed on a previous version.

The same applies to the 4 OTS function (excellent idea). The following is what I did:
I select a style, choose Variation A, click on OTS 1, instrument changes on RIGHT Sounds, I do SAVE RIGHT SOUND. The Sound is saved automatically in RIGHT or the LEFT track, close to the master fader.

If I choose OTS 2 for the same style, instrument changes on RIGHT Sounds but when I do SAVE RIGHT SOUND, The Sound/s is NOT saved in RIGHT or the LEFT track unless I manually change and save . It retains the sounds from OTS 1. The same applies if I use other Variations or OTS 3 &4.

Could you advise of correct procedure?

BTW, are the OTS link to the 4 variations?

I recently received your latest updated vArranger v19.12 software, (in future New "2020 Version NEXT").
When I click on some of the Channel Strip Panel, the Main (20) Instrument Panel doesn't respond properly to display instruments in the Right GUI .
As a result, I cannot change instruments.
The Drum and Perc, Accompaniment 3,4 and 5 don't work, the other channels work occasionally, only the Right 1 and Left 1 are working.

How can I fix, or will be corrected in the next upgrade?

The OTS function seems to not save "Right Hand Sounds", however, I will try with more variety of Yamaha Styles on all 4 OTS functions and advise further.

Yes, the VST is on vArranger Right 1 Channel 13:

Send to MIDI OUT 1= Grand Piano (Internal Synth sound).
Right 1 Channel 13: Send to MIDI OUT 2: VST= 01- Triton, 02 - M1.

When I select Send to MIDI OUT 1, I can hear the Grand Piano (Internal Synth sound),
but when I select Send to MIDI OUT 2  and choose either Triton or M1 I get no sounds.

Why am I not hearing any of my VST's sounds (Korg M1 and Triton) when used in vArranger VST Host.?

When the actual VST is opened, I hear sounds only if I use my mouse input on the instrument keyboard and not from my Motif xs midi input which also produces no sound in vArranger via sent to the midi out vst 2 as selected in 2nd midi out options although I can see the VST's listed.

It seems as though, the Motif xs midi input is not recognized when using VST's in the Synth Host.

Otherwise, the VST's works perfectly in standalone mode and vArranger software works satisfactory thus far, my problem is with using VST's.

As a new subscriber to vArranger, any help will be appreciated.
