The more I explore the more in awe I am of your creation.  Once I have many styles setup and songs ready to play for gigs what is the best way to backup the program?

Also,  I have my key on a thumb drive - what happens if the thumb drive goes bad and the computer can't read the thumb drive.?  I have never had a thumb drive fail on me but I do know others who have had that problem.

How do I record with the program?

Hi Deane,

Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm about vArranger.

About backing up, You have 2 things to copy :
- The vArranger2.exe who is the software (It's not a problem if you loose it, I have it too :))
- The vArrangerData folder who is close to the vArranger2.exe.  ALL your songs and settings are here.  (I don't have them ! So please backup)

So if you just copy those 2 files on a new computer, you will have again the exact same setup ready to go :)

Put also your Roland Midi drivers with you, and this file http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=24872

Then, if your computer fail, you can ask for another laptop.

The USB thumbs just have to be plugged. You don't have to run the vArranger2 from the USB drive.

I even recommend to copy the files on the computer's HD, and use it from there. It is faster.

And then Backup your files on your Thumb...

Deane

Dan,
What is the best way to get really good recordings using vArranger?

Dan

What kind of recorder do you have?

Deane

Dan,
I posted 5 songs that I recorded today.  I use Audacity on a PC with the SD2 connected to the PC - works great.
