MIDI files created using the "Song chords – Export to midifile" function do not contain the "Yamaha XG System On" message. As a result, track 9 does not play correctly when using Yamaha styles.
This issue can be resolved by adding the specified sequence to the beginning of the MIDI file.

Do you mean when you try the vArranger midifiles inside a real Yamaha keyboards?

I have added this sysex to the vArranger exports too
Do you use XG mode in vArranger when exporting?
I don't know if I add this sysex only if you select XG mode, or if it is not a problem to add this sysex for all exported midifiles whatever the vArranger mode

Actually, there is no issue playing these MIDI files on Yamaha keyboards; they play fine there without that message.
The problem arises when playing them on a PC—for instance, via VirtualMIDISynth, which is based on the BASS library.
The issue was that the exports from vArranger didn't include the "XG System On" message. Consequently, VirtualMIDISynth/BASSMIDI might not recognize channel 9 as an XG drum part, even though BASSMIDI does support multiple drum channels and XG mode.
