Did you play around with "manage application" settings  viz Kaspersky settings (bottom left) > protection> application control> manage applications.

I have attached a screen shot of my settings which initially had the problem you talked about but after the change it didn't delete the vA and runs without problems

Had the same problem, you have to go into Kaspersky settings (bottom left) > protection> application control> manage applications. Select vArranger2 and change the restriction status

Hope that helps, from memory I had a do a bit fiddling to ensure VA loaded and was not deleted.

Hi

If you create a folder for "My songs" Then create a folder for the actual song within that folder you can put all your files style/PDF/Txt/Midi etc.

As an example

BEATLE SONGS  (My Song Folder -top Level)
She Loves You (Sub Folder of Beatles Folder
style/PDF/Txt/Midi files

I think that's want you are looking for

When I first started using 'My Sounds' I found occasionally that the groups would change. It took me a while to figure out that when I was saving a song I was choosing from the options save  "My Sounds Bar" I was doing this without knowing the impact, so if I have changed a 'voice' using a particular style  it was registering the change (in my Sound Bars) and therefore couldn't figure out why my sound bar kept changing.

After figuring this out,  I went back and took off the Song>save>Sound Bar option on all my songs. I then built a master list of sound bars I wanted and associated this list with only one song. From this I would experiment with sound bar changes and maybe save the sound bar with the particular song. Then if I don't like the changes made or stuff up, I can always go back select the song with the master 'My Sounds' and reset the My Sound Bar list.

I can report to all that Dan has been working hard to correct this problem. These are the styles made within the Pa4x which have been created using the new feature 'create a style from a midi file'.

These styles are now functioning correctly, thanks Dan for all your effort.

Thanks for your fast response. I can now load the styles (ex my Pa4x) however from first look there are still a few bugs, re tempo not changing and volumes setting to zero. I will try to look at them over coming days and report back.

I have attached a few files. The Favourite01 Bad  file has some of my created styles (midi & create style from midi feature) in Favourite01 that does not load. The user01 Good file that does load probably came from my Pa3x.

In the User01 BAD file I transferred a style Don't dream its O (from Favourites01) using copy paste function within Pa4x to User01 bank did nothing else, it then made the user01 also unloadable.

I have been able to load the Pa4x styles from the vA forum without any problems, I can see the various banks (Fav/User) and play the styles.

However when I load the styles from my Pa4x I can see the banks but when I click to load on a bank,  it will not open and get the message "unknown file format". I think it relates to the fact that I am using the copy/paste function within the Pa4x to move a style to another bank. Most of the styles I have created are from Midi files and using the "create style from midi" function within the Pa4x so this may also be the problem.

For other Pa4x owners, has anyone had this problem or can replicate it

I purchased the four sound banks and they work well particularly matching the style (Korg/Tyros etc) I now feel confident to remove the SD 2 and mostly get the right sound match. Great feature!

However the problem I am having is that because of the memory size (4gb) on my system I am not able to load all four banks together. Unfortunately because of the file structure (.VSMPL and not SF2) you cannot edit the bank number and therefore you have to load all or nothing. Dan has advised that he is working on a future feature that not all will load on start-up. Also a current workaround is to use a SF2 file with low size (say 2kb) with the same banks/preset number to free up memory. However I am finding this method very time consuming to implement.

Given that each sound bank (Korg/Tyros/SD2) has several VSMP files is there a breakdown of what sounds are contained in each file.  For instances SD2 soundbank has the three banks plus drums & grooves which hopefully matches the specifications. BK7 is similar, however the Tryos soundbank the largest of the banks ( 1.2gb) is very difficult to work out. 

Having this layout of what sounds are in each of the VSMP files may assist to be selective of which VSMP file I load as an interim measure.

I would be interested to know how others are working with these VSMP files and the memory size problems.

Thanks for your prompt response. In manage audio device under advanced speaker properties it has 4 x sample rates both 16 bit 44100 & 48000 & 24 bit 44100 48000. I have tried all four rates but still get the error message.
Not too sure how I would check if it is locked somewhere? I have tried restoring default settings, turning off all the (soundblaster) effects etc, even disabling & reinstall the device.

I am using Varranger software synthesizer more and have connected a Sound Blaster X-fi  (laptop) sound card to my Windows 7 32 bit.  The X-fi card shows up in VA midi port options in audio out as both WASAPI & DirectSound. I can select the DirectSound: X-Fi option and all is well but I have some latency.

When I choose WASAPI: X-Fi option I get the WASAPI _Init : 6 error . I have gone into Manage audio devices- properties- Exclusive Mode  and ticked both:
         Allow application....
         Give exclusive mode....

I have done a little test using the other sound card option Speakers- (SoundMax Intergrated) all goes well with WASAPI option. Then if I remove the tick in Exclusive Mode under Audio devices I get the  WASAPI _Init : 6 error. So I know it is working with the other sound card option.

I have done the usual updating of drivers etc, but continue to get this WASAPI _Init : 6 error on the X-Fi sound card , any advice or assistance would be appreciated.

Dan, thanks for your fast response, I have looked for any hidden messages but could not find any . However when I opened task manager it showed Halion Sonic as an application "running", by ending the Task vAranger continued to load. Problem solved, thanks.
   

I have Halion Sonic loaded as a VST and whilst I have the the elicence USB plugged in to my laptop there are no problems loading vArranger. However if I travel and forget the  elicence USB, when I try to load varranger a message appears to prompt for inserting the USB. I select "cancel" on the message but then varranger just hangs and I cannot get the program to load.

What can I do if I don't have the  elicence USB and I want to use varranger?

I have watched with interest the various comments about VST packages and appreciate the input. However per my original comment I was only thinking of buying Halion Sonic because I use Cubase. It would appear to me that there are better packages to use with vArranger.

Can I ask, what do members think is the best VST package to use with vArranger and reasons?

I am using Cubase Elements and was thinking of purchasing Halion Sonic 2 for VST sounds. As  I am a novice with VST I therefore I have some questions:

1 Can you use Halion Sonic VST with vArranger
2 Do you have to have Cubase open or does Halion Sonic VST instruments run on its own within vArranger.
3 If it's possible to use Halion Sonic, would appreciate the steps involved. (I looked at the (English) forum and the is only and old thread back in 2012 on halionsonic set up before Dan did the changes to VST set up).

Assistance & advice would be appreciated.

I have just purchased a Novation SL Mk 2 to use with Varranger. What is the best mode to use Advanced or Automap

From what I can see the set up with advanced mode seems to give me a lot more control and I can get the feedback lights to work although a lot harder to set up. However Automap seems to offer the extra bonus of VSI control which I hope to get into at a later stage.

Hi All

I have recently purchased vArranger intially using an old roland SC unit for a week but had the chance to sell it and get an SD-2. The difference is amazing.

I have mastered most things having come from the old Technic days. I am trying to get the left sound to change with the style selected, however I cannot find how to get the "By Style" button to appear. It did appear once when I had the Roland SC but since setting up the  SD-2 I cannot get it to reappear.

Your asistance would be appreciated
