Dan is a one man band. He can not give endless support (which he does) to customers and then resell to others and then again give endless support to a customers which is not his because he allready sold it to the first one and gave the support.

Don't think thats fair.

I am pretty amazed about the reaction of Barry. 50,- euro transfer is to much?

Do not forget that there are very little companies that alow a transfer of the license, and its not only the transfer BUT more inportant. The new owner also gets the Updates and HELP when asked for. No one can deny the amount of time and effort that Dan puts in his customers. So in my eyes  50,- euros is a bargain for the things you get in return.

So i need to use Sequencer. Is there a way to use the SF2 within Varranger with a sequencer?

Got a question,
I would like to edit midifiles within Varranger with use of my own SF2 sounds. The problem is that varranger does not give the proper names of the SF2 files on the Miditracks within Varranger. So its a bit complicated which track to edit because you hear  all the music and sounds but does not know were they are on the track because the naming is completely wrong.

How do you do that? Is there a way to save the edited midifiles? or do i need to walk another path to edit this.

There was a problem with the Synth engine of vA. When you use a VST effects and SF2 sounds vA crashed every session i used it. You could not tell when. sometimes within one minute, sometimes it took 3 hours.

I received two weeks ago a new update from Dan and the bug is now solved.
I have tried vA several hours and it did not crashed at all!

It's now very stable.

Thanks Barry, but i use the latest driver and got the problem with and without the Presonus. On the laptop and the Pc. BTW the Presonus never ever crashed the audio on the DAW's that i use or other audio software. The Presonus that i' ve got is now one years old.

And i am not the only one who has this issue.

I don;t know if its a combination of reasons that cause the crashing of the audio. I first thought it was the memory use of the sample library but i also have the problem with only 300Mb of samples loaded. Then i thought it was the VST effect that i used so i tried several other ones. No solution so far. Then i thought it could be the Presonus so i disconnect it and used the asio4all driver.

So i am out of options at this moment.  Dan is working on the solution.

I mostly use the vA Synth engine to play my SF2 sounds. Its fantastic BUT has some real issues. The naming of the SF2 sounds are completely off. So if you use a piano SF2 sample and put it on bank 2, space 76 you get the piano sound but the name on the sliders is the equivalent of the GM bank so Pan Flute. Thats not good.

I also encounter that the audio crashes completely. This happens every session when i use vA. It can happen within 3 minutes but also after 3 hours. But it always crashes. When i unplug my audio USB card (Presonus Audiobox USB) and plugin back again AND choose the settings for the audio card again. Then the system continues normally. I thought it was because i used 3 GB of samples, but i also get this problem with 300Mb of samples in memory.

I also tried it without the Presonus audio box and the asio4all driver. Same problem occurs.

Luckaly Dan told me he was working on these problems. So all will be fine soon.

My setup is Win7 64 pc with 12 GB of ram.  using one VST effect and my own samples.

it is totaly overdone to sample a SD 2 note for note because thats not what Ketron has done themselves. So you will not receive more quality. Bear in mind that a SD2 is just a simple basic soundmodule with tiny samples in it.

Today i have been looking to the arranger section of varranger. When you want to use your own SF2 sounds in the arranger (is possible) and want to increase the tone of the sounds with a octave than you will have little problem. All the Yellow edit option which are normaly there aren't when you use your own sounds.

Also the naming of you own sounds are not there in the arranger mixer. You hear the new SF2 sounds but the name is not in the mixer (arranger part) only a different name from Varranger it selve.

BTW you can change these things when the SF2 sounds is on the right layers but not in the arranger section. Easy fix for Dan.

Just installed the Varranger V1.17

I do not have a Ketron at this moment so i am using the Varranger synth which is pretty horrible. SO...
What to buy to get a good sound for the arranger. AND further i want make my own Soundbanks SF2 with the names in the screen as the Vsynth does.

I tried to load a SF2 sound which worked. (loaded the file in the samples map). Closed the varranger and opend it again. The piano sound is now my SF2 sound. So it looks like it has overwritten the existing vsynth piano sound.

How can i make my own soundbanks devided in my own catagories?
