I've been using my vA2 with my roland integra 7, never satisfied with the result. Then 2 weeks ago i purchased Dan's Yamaha SoundBank. Wow!

Most of Tyros4 and Tyros5 styles now sound great and proper. I compared the styles i played using Dan's SoundBank with Tyros4 demo on youtube (the ones with great audio quality), my vA2 and Dan's Yamaha SoundBank "DUO" sounds even a bit better than the Tyros4 on youtube!

Seriously, i recommend vA2 users/owners to buy this SoundBank. I wish i had enough budget to buy Dan's other SoundBanks, but for now, since i am saving my money to buy Yamaha MODX, i will have to be satisfied with Dan's Yamaha SoundBank only, without the other 3 Dan's SoundBanks.

I'm using the ketron sd2 sound bank from Dan. It sounds very nice. I've bought also the yamaha sound bank. But I could not achieve a good sound for the styles. Could you tell me which samples you have stored in your \vArrangerData\Sounds\SAMPLES directory?  I'm missing the drums samples for the tyros4 in the yamaha set from Dan. Which drum set you have installed?
Thank you.
Thom

What drumset you don't have? If for example you load a tyros4 style?

Hi Dan.
I have installed the tyros sounds as listed on bottom in the directory vArrangerData\Sounds\Samples.
As mentioned I'm playing normaly only with the SD2 sound kit. There I have a file named "SD2 Drums V2.1". In the Tyros4 sound set I can't find such a drum file. Could you please explain to a dummy Tyros4 user what the difference beetween the files "Tyros4 Bank ...." and the "Tyros YA- ..." is? Are this different instruments?
Perhaps the drums are in the file "Tyros4 Bank 000.000-V1.5.vsmpl" aren't they?
Thanks for explain.

8)The designation of banks has changed over time.
The next version of Genos is still compatible with the Tyros. All the drums kits of the T4 are present for example.
The new designation will be YA-Drums a , Ya-Drums b and Ya-Drums c . 3 Banks because the system does not support enough "entries" to group everything in one bank.
The Genos mainly uses "revo drums" that are much more realistic than the old kits . They also dropped the audio loops even though the latter
can be read by the Genos .

Hello,
I am not satisfied with some of the sounds in the new Genos-soundbank.
Many sounds are programmed with wrong octave-settings.
For example : 8-32-29 WhiterBarsJS and 104-0-17 WhiterbarsFast.
Listen to the Demo https://www.varranger.com/audio/genos.mp3  at 2:52 Organ ChaCha, 8:01 Organ Bossa, 11:36 JazzOrganBallad.
All the Rotarychanges Slow/fast sounds terrible because the Fast-variation is one octave higher than the Slow-variation.
Also 0-110-17 RotarySwitch
       0-111-16 EvenBars
       0-111-17 HolditFast
       0-126-17 JazzSlow
       0-127-17 JazzFast
       ..... many other Organsounds .....
Please listen to the Intro of Style 6-8 SoulBallad. the WhiterbarsFast sounds creepy like a mosquito because 1 octave to high.
And at the end of the demo you hear the French Musette and French Waltz with a Musette-Accordion 1 octave to high.
Also listen to AlpenBallad 2, the Timpani in the percussiontrack, is this a joke or something ?

Generally, to play the Genossounds on the Manuals, i must change the Sound-edit settings of the octave -1, sometimes -2.

Dan, can you check this please ?
Regards !

;)  OK jamkey , it's just , I'll fix it in the week . If you see anything else be nice to report it.
If I have the exact references of the defective sounds , I can do it faster .

Don't worry , the sounds are already fixed but I'll take a little more time to check again.

The update will be even better. It will take a short time and then Dan has to do more work
downstream engineering .

Thank you for reporting this
The Yamaha organ sounds are generally one octave upper compared to other sound modules like Ketron SD2
We will check and correct this in the next bank version
No problem...

I respect the many work about soundprogramming from Magali and Dan, no misunderstanding !
But sounds programmed 1 octave to high makes the styles sound comical.
It's not only the Organsounds, like someone already encoutered in this topic:

In the last reply, Woge 1000 wrote

Hier fiel mir dann besonders auf, Sounds die ich Midi1 und Midi2 anwähle, die GM2 Sounds sind alle 1 Oktave höher.

I'll be patient till a new version is coming, please Dan and Magali, can you inform us if it is ready ?

Regards, Jamkey.
