midi interface lead/cable length

Most of the midi interface leads (1 x USB + 2 x 5 pin) cables are 2m overall in length.
Thats USB lead end at 1.5 metre and the 2 x 5 pin end leads both about 0.5m metre each.  (1.5+0.5=2m)
I need to distance/seperate the 2 x 5 pin midi IN and OUT leads from my accordion midi box to my vocal harmony effects unit in front and behind my music set up. 
The 2 x 5 pin leads need to be at least 1m in length each . Can anyone source this from anywhere

I just thought I am aware there are small MIdi box units where you connect your own 5 pin midi leads but there are too expensive. (£35-£60) So please dont suggest these. No offence intended. lol
Has anyone tried extending the midi 5 pin cables wiith a 5 pin male / female extension cable.
I am also aware that there is the original (pre midi) Audio 5 pin leads and this midi 5 pin lead which are both different wiring in the 5 pin arrangememt.

Hi Jon,

I usually find I am looking for a lot shorter cables USB or midi, because otherwise you have a big pile of bunched up cables around your setup.

And I have a lot of cables connecting my music system to my Laptop and music gear.

I have very short Midi cables 20cm but USB is around 1 to 1.5 M.

For your midi needs you can get custom length cables. One way is to buy the cable length required and midi connectors and solder your own setup. I did that a couple of years ago and length is 5 M, works fine.

Although there is a limit I believe where too long creates a problem..

Judging by your mentioned money you are in UK.
