Hi there. I'm playing a psr s950 which I bought as a replacement for my old roland g 800.
But must admit the 950 sounds sterile in style compared to tyros4 which is 950 big brother.
the solo sounds are good but not the sound of the styles
Thinking about trying vArranger2 with my old g 800 as the midi master keyboard.
But which sound module is to be trusted.
Ketron sd 2 or sd 1000 or maybe roland sonicell.
Hope you can help me a little before I'm buys the vArranger2 and a sound module.

Hi,
i prefere Ketron SD1000. Most Styles for VA2 from Ketron, Korg, Yamaha,... sound very good without any modification!
I downloaded thousands of styles from the internet!

And all sounds are direct inside VA2 selectable with sound menu!

SD2 ist older and has no good sounds compared to SD1000.

Roland Sonicell is not direct integrated in VA2 and you must have an INS-File for display soundnames! And if you play a style with it you must change all sounds or use only GM sounds!

best regards

Hey. Thank you very much for the answer.
Should just hear about Ketron sd1000 it's ready to run in va2 when you buy va2.
or do you have to do much to make it all play together?
Ketron sd 1000 comes from thomann today so just need to buy va2
but just want to make sure it works 100% together

Hi,
you must only in MIDI Settings of VA2 select SD1000 as soundmodule at for example midi out 1, your preferred keyboard as MIDI in 1 and then load a song (from Ketron, Korg, Technics, Yamaha) and play without changes!
VA2 recognices the different style formats and select the correct sounds in SD1000.

And  i have tested many many styles! Sound very well like the best hardware arranger!

best regards

You can also use sounds from your old G800 if you want, but Sound Engine from
Ketron SD1000 is very, very good, much better as sound from G800.

Or you can buy the soundbank vA SD2, it's make with a SD1000.

Hi,
it is nothing better than the original!

A sampled SD1000 has no  double effect dsp like the SD1000 with free selectable chorus, delay, Leslie effect, distortion etc!
