i was a yamaha tyros user and also use Registration very much to overlap on VA I use the songs created my own folders and saved inside the songs acordding with my preferences and gig order, to change the songs assign two buttoms on my keyboard change the songs up and down, problem solved. As like the Yamaha has no limits to save.

About multipads is somethings I use with some drum sounds like snare, toms, crash waht I did to solve my keyboard has two midi outs I use one of them to send the keyboard pads on midi track 10 each pad with the note of the sound I want, using a second software, in me case sonar, redirect to track 10 of my sd1000. Works perfectly.

The keyboard I use Alesis Vi61.

I Have both Modules SD2 and Sd1000, there is a significant difference in the instruments specially on brass in general and individually but more important for my kind of work the drums also have an increase of sound quality.

The only negative issue I find in Sd1000 I couldn't find a way to work the 32 midi channels that are announced, my goal was to have 16 dedicated with Varranger (SD1000) and the others 16 (SD1000 2)  the direct input from a second keyboard, it allways goes send to same track from the Varranger.

Also SD1000 you don't need power supply neither midi-USB cable converters it's an USB cable and that's it.

hummm can't figure it out!! the major problem it's when I change the sound on the Varranger (SD1000) also changes the sound on Midiout2SD1000.......

for example
on sonar I have a piano selected on channel 14 sending to midiout2sd1000
if in varranger i change the sound on right 2 (also channel 14 but sending to sd1000) the sonar begins to play that same sound..........

what am i doing wrong?

I'm using two keyboards Alesis VI 61 sending to Varranger and CME uf 8 sending to sonar
OUT SD1000 on varranger and midiout2(sd1000) on sonar.

the question is when i change settings on varranger it also make changes on the sounds that are config on sonar why? doesn't sd1000 has 32 independent midi channels? As anyone any ideas about this??

A minha experiencia com o Varranger começou derivado a atuações nas ilhas para não andar com o tyros atrás, a questão é que foi tão boa que vendi o tyros, neste momento o meu sistema é composto por um alesis VI61 e um CME UF8 (tudo teclados midi) alesis ligado a varranger e CME a sonar.

Neste momento estou a migrar tudo para trabalhar só com o SD1000 visto que este tem 32 pistas midi. A diferença de sonoridade entre o sd2 e o sd1000 é abismal, a qualidade de sons e DSP não tem comparação. Mantenho o SD2 por uma questão de segurança.

Quanto aos ritmos passa tudo por muitas horas a nivelar volumes eu uso ritmos de yamaha, ketron, Korg os que uso menos é mesmo os da roland. Já agora ainda não partilhei com o DAN mas tenho estado a falar com a alesis a ver se eles colocam o VI61 com led feedback, que para já não é possivel, com 48 botões ficava fantastico!

How can I use the 32 channels of sd 1000 it's possible to use all thru USB or do I have to connect midi cable??

I want to use the first 16 channels with VA2 and the second part with sonar..

I have ketron sd2 and sd1000 not everything fully functional yet i'm a recent user but the sounds on sd1000 are far better.

I received today a SD1000 and it produces less sound than SD2 however it makes much more humm noise when it's not playing any sound is this normal? What is your experience?

that will be perfect, in a middle of a song if you want to add something for instance a cymbal crash just press the pad, like that you don't have to use the breaks constantly.

If you can make with the same drum kit and volume even better there will be no difference in the sound. With this feature it's possible to make your style sounds diferent  everytime you performe.

 

the intention is to use the same sound fonts as the style in this case sd2, for audio pads it's easy to set them to Kontakt that's not the issue

Have another ideia, like on the parts it's possible to choose the midi out if in the left and right parts also have the possibility to choose the midi in device......

This fuction it's a great tool I use it a lot with my Tyros to do realtime breaks, I also use to put some small lines samplers but at this point I wouldn't ask so much.

I think that can be solved perhaps permiting to choose the midi channel input on the second keyboard that goes diretly to midi channel output of varranger, this way even tought you select the same keyboard for both inputs it's possible to assign, just an idea.

with a controller keyboard like akai MPK  it's possible to put for example a bassdrum or a snare in the pad using varranger and sd2?
