I had started experiencing problems with lock ups in XP. To remedy this I went to the windows task manager (ctrl, alt, del) and changed the priorty to high.
Took care of everything that was causing a problem.

I always shut off all resources I don't use before a gig. I am using Vista and have no problems. I also have several applications open at the same time. There is a place in windows that you can set up a scheme so you have a choice at power up. You would have to read the help file.

Dan, I can record to cakewalk but it doesn't transmit instrument info. I have to go back and figure what instruments are used on each rack. If I play cakewalk back thru the SD2 It doesn't have that info. I do like you chord option in varranger now.
There are a few things I like to do after I have the song set to midi file that are beyond what you intend with varranger. Nothing against varranger program. I am putting together original music. Just working with basic rhythm patterns

I have been using this pedal and it has worked flawlessly. the funtion I use is start stop, fade and hold.
But sometimes I change the fade to a fill function. Sure like the way you made it easy to assign the switches Dan

I would like to record into cakewalk midi sequences from varranger with all information attached. How can this be done. When I try all i get are the note message. I like this too. But sometime I would like to have all information transmited. I like to edit midi files in cakewalk to build a song.

I have used this pedal and it works great. There is also a jakc in the back to add an expression pedal. Ring sleave configuration. I don't use one, but they say there are several pedals that will work.
The nicest thing about the pedal is it is recognized as a midi usb device. You don't have to have another usb to midi adapter. Just plug it into the usb poet and VArranger recognizes it right away. Then in the configuration menu just highlight the function you want it to control and step on the button. You are ready to go. There is also a control program that comes with the pedal so
you can modify the configuation of the buttons and save them for recall. It would be easy to chain more than one pedal together using a usb expander. I could see a guy adding a couple pedals just to use more of the control features in VArranger.
Bottom line is I tried it and it works great. Simple to use. And the price is right.......
