Yes ! I - do - have lot's of sounds - but unfortunately not (all) in SF2 format - and maybe when I got the time in the
future I will convert and work some more with sounds and styles. There are private reasons at this moment that must
take its time - which I would rather not go into here. My initial idea was to make style packages with specific soundfonts - and
share them here on this forum.

But your suggestion and turn of mind was / is very interesting and I considering a future conversation regarding a wider sound
palette for vArranger - let's keep this channel open and let us - first examine what Agaton will eventually be contribute - very
curious about his /  the final result.

Yes Bandstand works in GM mode - It works quite well ! I tested a lot before I bought
my Ketron SD 1000 - but "Bandstand" compare to the SD modul....Man, you will
never looking back - Sorry ! I have compared with expensive hardwares too, The SD 1000
rocks for it's price....

But anyway, it's a option - now that you still own a version of Bandstand. Try it !!

Just delete vArranger.ini (file) and load Blue Cats Patchwork x86 version !
vArranger makes a new .ini file

If you want to use so many vst instruments in your setup I
recommend you to use a vst - plugin called Blue Cats Patchwork
A universal plug-ins patchbay that can host up to 64 VST
or Audio Unit plug-ins. Use Synths or effects. Build your
own effects chains: up to 8 "pre" and "post" plug-ins slots
to chain plug-ins in series. Parallel processing made easy: up
to 8 parallel plug-ins chains, with phase flip, solo and gain
controls. in serial or parallell. Save your setups easy !!
Use it as standalone or vst / vsti plugin - your choice !

It's just wonderful to use together with vArranger.

Yes - that would really be a nice bonus! Some features I think is missing in XotoPad,
for example, which button is actuated and which is not. You can edit and make button
toggle and lite up, but then you have to double click to switch or change - thats not
useful for for each operation. But otherwise it works great with my touch screen (s) or (Monitor)

I have a virtual controller (XotoPad) for touch screens - very nice ! check pic !
Is vArranger controller keeping settings in ini file ? I have several
midi controllers (one midi foot controller) and want to save settings for vari. controllers........

Yes ! I think I can reconize 3 layers - E.Piano from SD1000 - But this is the deal, for
every - none - new - own - doublet SoundFont layer, I blended samples with some
analog  harmonics (from MIC) and dif. EQ:s. Without this flavor the sound (sf2) was
rather flat and thin but with some polishing it really stand out and became better.
The first and number three is the softsynth. You have good ears Dan and agaton.
I know that now  Very impressive !

Spent some time to get a decent SoundFont E.Piano (sf2)
Here is the result. 8 layer / 65 mb - And you
have to guess "If you dare" - which one that is
hardware or which is (sf2).
Give me some response below, what you think.
Hardware is Ketron SD 1000 - as mentioned.

What a improvement ! It works surprisingly good. The keyboard feels a bit cheap but useful in a small setup.

It could, maybe,  be my ultra lite - gig - configuration together with my Asus 2:1 Asus Transformer Book
T200 PC / tablet.  Why carry on unnecessary things - when you do not need in all circumstances

Hi Bernie !

I have used sondfont patches/instruments/Banks since late 80:s. And there are some good banks out there - I have created some sondfonts my self to - in the past and here is a good example how it may sound.
But you should of course use your Ketron SD 2, if possible - it is always more reliable in the live context. SoundFonts are usually cheap or free and some VST plugins for the format too - but I use Sample Lord and its unfortunately not free ! And if you use vArranger you can naturally use your own sondfonts to ! It's really that simple !

Hi again - Music friends!

Just an update for you all ! As I mentioned in a previous post - so was my greatest desire to exchange my SD 1000.
And now I have the new modul in my studio - It behaves certainly different compared with the first one and I'm
gonna stick to this firmware (I believe and hope it,s 1.0) I did a varying test with all kind of different midi's and
styles, and configurations, and it seems that my previously problems had disappeared - For NOW -  I'm somewhat
2 inches more happy !   

There was a time I wanted to throw the shit overboard . so to speak (Sorry about that) But now I really want to explore more
- after all - I really like the sound that's coming from this little, inconspicuous, modest, nearly invisible, cuty box - cheers!

It seems to me that - It's - certainly not vArranger that cause the SD 1000 pitch, scale or weird behavior in any way.......
Exactly the same experience when using (as an example) VanBasco playing midisongs as mentioned before..

BUT this is interesting !!

I paste and split some (15 p) midisongs in seperate midi channels in Cockos Reaper. Play all these songs in a row. And play
my master keyboard at the same time - lets say on midi ch 16 - and it seems - the problem has disappeared ?

Explain that - someone who dares !! ??

I gonna switch my module anyway and the idea is not to update that one - until there's is one you can trust. I will be back with more relevant
information on how the new module behaves in relation to the existing module.

Updated the modul once more !! AND !

It seems to me that my modul is somewhat unstable and I have to replace it - WHAT A MISERY !! I just played hundreds of
midifiles in a row and with no other interference with my mother keyboard (with resets in the end of every single song) and
to my surprise, the module was / is incredibly weird and unstable - so my conclusion is that the module has a malfunction
somewhere, somewhat, somehow.

I have already informed "Thomann" and they are ready for a change - thank you all, for the support and answers, so that I could
comprehend that the fault was not on my side.....But I love the outcomming sounds from the Ketron SD 1000 though, and think it's very, very
jolly - especially when you consider the low price.....

Yes Lylo - it's  certainly a very nice, competent software. and the software also has a very comfortable price. And with all the themes that you can
download you can turn it into a very personal touch - Nice and stable !

Try this !

Play an heavy midifile via vArranger and use for example your keyboard and play along on channel 16 via USB back to the SD 1000 modul, with some wheel and pitch movements on
your side and see if you can force the SD 1000 to getting weird.......
You can download this midis to try !!
Don't forget to cancel midi ch 16 for outgoing from midifile (song) -  some songs are naturally using all channels (1-16) and thats maybe to much to demand from the Sd 1000, if you play your stuff at the same time and the midisong plays on the same channel simultaneously.....

Just give you guys and girls an update. Played and tested Ketron SD 1000 hard last weekend and it seems to get out of pitch and tune when you
lets say, play an style (any) or midi file (any) and use for example (input) channel 16 to play your melody together with SD 1000 - on your keyboard
- all this simultaneously ofcourse - and then the SD 1000 can get crazy. It's more frequent when choosing heavier midi songs than when using, just styles.
Its both midi port and USB port connecting to the Ketron SD 1000.

For my part, I do not play usually this way - instead I use my master keyboard for additional toppings and fills. This management avoids the port problem
for the time being.

In vArranger it's wonderful to be able to change instruments and so on for SD 1000 - but I want badly to make the same in Reaper ??
I downloaded Cakewalks definition file (INS) for Ketron SD 1000 but it seems not to work all the way in Reaper. I can see all the
A-B-C-D-67 Banks (Reacontroller) but it's only Bank A that makes the Program change properly. B-C-D-67 change the instruments, but
it seems to be the same instruments as Bank A. No Bank changes - accordingly
   

Someone who can give me some advice ?

Hi DAN !
With this rig - as mentioned above and with USB. It seems to work nearly flawless. But with some quick style to midi songs swaps in vArranger - back and forth, the SD 1000
can get out of tune (often the same midi ch) and behave somewhat weird. I switched back to my midi box and same rig and the problem don´t exists
any more.

Lets wait for the next update and see !?

I will test the SD 1000 with my new tablet / notebook (2:1) Asus Transformer T200 11.6' BayTrail Z3795 4GB 64G tomorrow and only use the USB
connection, together with my KORG KROME. (It´s - gonna be my new live RIG in the future) I'm gonna evaluate how it's plays
with this new configuration and if its reliable in a live situation.

I replaced my midi cable and suddenly I can here som fx - Mmmm??
Its on all or preselected chanals simultaneously exactly as you mentioned. Hopefully there
will be some improvement in the future.

The first thing I did ! I tryed your FX suggestion - mm - no luck ! Maybe I´m to stupid to get this to work.

Note !
SD 1000 is somewhat more stable when not using several USB ports, for several keyboards or other midi massages  (intersecting each other) at the same time !
Use only vArranger and SD 1000 and you are quite good to go....

Just what I needed to know ! It seems that Reaper is really an lightweight DAW for my needs, to go along with
vArranger. I usually use Studio One 2 for my bigger music (Sequenser) - projects.

It seems that KETRON SD 1000 feels more stable with the midi input port than the USB port - but I have no luck to
get FX working on the SD 1000. A Video tutorial would be nice  . Some very weird things happens sometimes
with the SD 1000. (sort of pitch, scale changes) but not once using the midi port !

And it would be great if you could save a midifile after program change in vArranger as someone pointed out here
before. Wishes, wishes......

When I start vArranger, I want to start Cockos Reaper at the same time and with the right time stamp (position) ?
Is this possible ? I can see Send Clock from vArranger - is this the way to go ?

MY , my - I had to wait !
Finnaly - there it is, my new KETRON SD 1000, and I like the modul so far. How do I know what firmware I've got, or do you all think I have
to update anyway ? Tested all day (yesterday) and no problems there at all. Midi songs, connected Studio One and more - never failed
once - yet, that will say. OK ! What now ? Should I have some updates for Varranger too ?
