Hi Guys,
Does anyone know if vArranger will run on the new Surface 3 without any problems? Planning on just using a SD2 module with it.
Thanks,
Wally

Hi Dan,
How is the sound quality compared to using SD2? Are they the same, better or not as good?
Thank you,
Wally

You are welcome! Glad I could help......

If you look at the bottom right hand corner of vArranger while playing a midi file, you will see 4 sliders. They are labeled...... Song, Left, Right, Master...... You can adjust the volumes of the corresponding parts with those sliders.
Wally
#7
Paolo,
Do you want to set the volume of the midi file to 100 or an individual midi track to 100?
Wally

#8
Paolo,
Here is the way that I do it when playing a midi file.
In vArranger, click on the "Options" button. On the drop down menu, click on "Controllers". When the controllers screen appears, scroll down until you see "Sel. Track Mute" & click on that. This will highlight that option. Now just press the button on your keyboard that you want to use to mute the midi file track. Next click on "OK" on the bottom right, this will save it. Next, on the main screen of vArranger, on the bottom of the screen you will see your 16 midi tracks. Click on the track that you wish to mute & this will highlight it. Now everytime that you want to mute that track, just press the button on your keyboard that you previously picked from the "Controllers" menu.

Hi Dan,
Great work demonstrating the new SD1000. Is that your new Microsoft Surface Pro that is running vArranger?

Hi Dan,
I just wanted to take a minute to "thank you" again for vArranger & incorporating the "marker" feature when I asked for it. I know that I've told you thanks many times but this morning I played a gig for the local Senior Center & it hit me right there in the middle of the gig....what a blessing you are for creating this software & listening to your customers wants & needs. So I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all that you do for us!

Hi Dan,
Thank you once again for your continued hard work in making vArranger the absolute best! I played a gig yesterday at the local Senior Center & got many, many compliments.
I relized that I should have purchased vArranger a long time ago from you as I could have saved myself alot of money buying various arranger keyboards hoping to find "the perfect arranger". Now I have found it in vArranger!
Thank you.....Thank you.....Thank you!!!

The vArranger² Software Forum / .pdf & lyrics
February 15, 2013, 03:11:48 PM
Hello guys,
I would like to know if it is possible to have the lyrics window & the charts pdf window both display in vArranger at once, side by side? Right now I have all of my lyrics files & charts files in the SCORE Folder. When I select a song to play only the lyrics window displays. In order to get the charts file in pdf format to appear, I have to use the Load function. By the way, I have installed the VarrangerPDF.exe file to read all of my pdf chart files.
Thanks,
Wally

Hi Lionel,
Thanks for your reply. I was using a beta version of vArranger but after reading your post, I went back & tried ver. 1.14c and the same thing is happening as with the beta version. The "Save - Song" option is only available with some styles or midi songs.
Any other ideas?

Hi,
I have a question concerning the Save function of vArranger (it's probably something that I am doing wrong). When I click on the Save icon to save my current song or style, sometimes it allows me to save (the Save in the drop down menu is black) and sometimes it won't allow me to save the song or style (the Save in the drop down menu is greyed out). Can someone help?
Thank you,
Wally

Ok, as promised, here are some pics of my current setup. So far it is running absolutely flawlessly.
First of all I'd like to say that I am extremely thankful to Dan for 2 reasons: #1) Creating vArranger software and #2) suggesting the Asus EP121 to me.
This setup that I am using now is by far the most portable (everything is permanently mounted to the Rock n' Roller cart) & by far the best sounding system that I've had in all the years that I've been using arranger keyboards!
Enjoy,
Wally

pax_eterna,
My Asus EP121 has a Dual Core Intel i5 CPU, not an Atom based CPU.....

Hi Dan,
Since I am running vArranger on the Asus EP121, there are absolutely no issues especially none of the problems that I had with the Lenovo netbook.

When I first purchased vArranger, I loaded it onto my Lenovo S10 netbook & experienced some problems. Every once in awhile there would be a hesitation while playing a style or a SMF. It was at random & it didn't happen in the same place but I did notice that when it happened, my hard drive light would come on. Also, I had to play the chord 2 times with my left hand inorder to start my styles. I got some suggestions from various people as how to fix these problems but to no avail. So You see, vArranger did not run on my netbook without problems.

Hi Guys,
Well, I received the Asus eee EP121 Slate, loaded vArranger onto it & am very happy with it. Got it hooked up to my keyboard controller & vArranger runs flawlessly. I'm so excited about this setup, I'm going to post some pictures (if I can figure out how) as soon as I can get myself to stop playing with my new arranger setup.

Hi Deane,
It's great to hear that you're doing well & that your surgery was a textbook success. Just take it easy for the next 6 months to a year & enjoy your new yamaha & korg "toys". I hope that doesn't mean that you're going to abandon vArranger..... ;)
Welcome back!

Hi Guys,
Well, as it turns out, I couldn't wait for the Microsoft Surge (No big surprise there....lol) so I took Dan's advice & purchased an Asus EEE EP121 Tablet. I should receive it sometime this week. The Asus Tablet combined with vArranger is going to give me that "Perfect Arranger Setup" that I've been searching for......for years. New technology is wonderful!!!

Hi Bernie,
I noticed that you are using an Acer tablet for vArranger. Can you tell me what model Acer you have & how it works? I am currently looking to purchase a tablet to run my vArranger on.
Thank you,
Wally

Thanks for the relies. Yes, I am looking for a touch screen tablet to run vArranger on, like Dan said. The reason being, I want to set it on my music stand that is attached to my keyboard. I have been using my iPad in this way for quite awhile & find that it works best "for me". Right now I am running vArranger on a Lenovo S10 netbook & it works very well but I find the keyboard of the netbook itself to be in my way.
I thought that I had found my "perfect tablet" in a Samsung Slate 7 but after doing some research on the web, I found out that there were issues with screen separation & I am not ready to deal with that kind of thing so therefor my search continues. So after spending the last couple of days & countless hours on the internet looking for a "perfect tablet", I am getting frustrated & ready to settle for anything that will run vArranger.
I really appreciate all opinions & advice. Keep them coming.
