I would like to apply two different delays in mySongs. To do this, I created two presets (short/long) for the TAL-Dub-X and saved them in vA2. Is it possible to assign any preset selected from the vA2 preset list to a song and save it permanent? Or is only one preset possible for all songs?

Thanks for your answer. So I will try to simulate a bulk of needed PitchBend controller from external software. I will start the pitch bend with a ON/OFF switch and send automatically cyclic the needed PitchBend commands. Do you think that will work? Have you any hints for the implementation in my controller software?

Hello everyone.
Unfortunately my midi source (Roland FR4xb) does not have pitch bend hardware. There is no PitchBend wheel. There is the "365 Pitch Bend +" controller in the vA2. I put this controller on a button on the connected NanoControl but it doesn't work like a normal PitchBend. When you press the button on the NanoControl, the sound is bent, but not like a normal pitch bend. How do I have to control this controller so that it sounds like a real picth bend. Is there possibly also a pitch bend - (minus)? Thank you for your answers.

Hello, I'm trying to customize some drum sets with the Drum Mixer Editor. As far as I understand, I can change the parameters for each instrument used (red bar) in "Edit Box 1", for example adjust the volume. Is there a mapping of the note number to the instrument name of the drumset?
I didn't understand the function of the "Edit Box 2". What can I influence with it?

Thanks for the info about the relife VST. I have installed it but what are now the best parameters. Since there are no presets for this, I would be interested in your settings for the relife in the master of the vArranger. Could you take a snapshot of the optimal settings for the varranger. I also can't map the IN/OUT button at the bottom center. What function does it have? Thanks.

Ich möchte diese Soundfonts als Ersatz für die SD1000 Hardware einsetzen. Anstelle der Soundfonts von Dan in ......\vArrangerData\Sounds\SAMPLES installiert.  Ich weiss aber immer noch nicht ob der vA2Synth dieses SFKR Format lesen kann. Gibt es eventuell eine Demo Version?

Thank you very much for the styles. Could you please tell me wich yamaha styles will give the best results with Dan's soundbank on vA2. What I'm looking for are the complete factory styles for the genos or the SX900. The most yamaha styles I have downloaded sounds not very good in vA2. Perhaps you have found a set of styles that sounds on the vA2 like on the physical genos or sx900 keyboard. Thank you very much.

Which of theDan's megavoice xx.vsmpl must be replaced with the Neosoundstation drumkit? Please give me some instructions how to do that before I will buy the Neosoundstation 2.

Momentan verwende ich ein altes Ketron Knopfkeyboard MS10 als quelle für den vArranger. Es scheint dass das Keyboard nun langsam am Lebensende ist, denn es gibt Kontaktprobleme und der Lüfter stört mit seinem Geräusch den wundervollen Klang des vArrangersynth. Grund genug das Keyboard auszuwechseln. Welche (Master)Keyboards verwendet Ihr am vArranger? Gibt es eine Empfehlung? Kennt jemand eventuell eine Lösung mit einem Master-Knopfkeyboard? Besten Dank für Eure Vorschläge.

is this a competitor to Ketron SD90 ............ or maybe even to vA2?

Besten Dank für Deinen Hinweis. Ich wollte ja nur wissen wie Ihr die String-Fonts aufpeppt. Dein Hinweis bestätigt mich, dass ich am richtigen Ort "gedreht" habe. Wie schon erwähnt hat mein MIDI-Akkordeon auch keinen After-Touch und ich verwende deshalb ebenfalls diese Funktion nicht.
Du schreibst, dass Du den Hall und Chorus mit den Dreghreglern über den Fadern einstellst. Interessant wäre zu erfahren welche vsti's Du für FX1, FX2 und FX3 installiert hast. Verwendest Du für FX1 das vorinstallierte Reverb oder ein anderes. In welchem Bereich stellst Du die Drehregler ein? Zwischen 9 und 15 Uhr? Ich bin am optimieren meiner Songs im vA2 und bin deshalb sehr interessiert was Kollegen als Effekte zusätzlich nutzen.

Schade dass hier im Board nicht mehr über Songs zu erfahren ist. Nicht jeder vA2 Benutzer ist ein Profi-Keyborder und ist froh über jede Hilfe und Hinweise bei der Registrierung eines Titels durch eben diese Profis. Jedenfalls ist die Rubrik SONGS im Downloadbereich des vA2 Forums etwas arg leer. Liegt es vielleicht daran dass es keine Import- und Exportfunktion in vA2 gibt die einen einfachen Austausch der Songs inkl. Styles d.h ganze Registrierungen erlaubt. Oder sind die vA2 Benutzer wirklich so verschlossen dass Sie die Kollegen als Konkurrenten ansehen? Da bin ich schon etwas neidisch auf die Yamaha Keys, die Funktion zum Austausch von Registrationen haben und damit einen Austausch von kompletten Registrationen erlauben. Ich bin auch an Technik interessiert, wenn aber durch fehlende Funktionen ein Austausch der Registrationen zwischen Usern nicht möglich ist, wird der vA2 nie durchstarten! Zusätzliche Funktionen rund um das Keyboard sind essentiell für den Erfolg. Wie könnten wir die Situaton verbessern. Danke für die Antworten. Das ist gut wenn das Verhalten mindestens für alle MIDI-Quellen gleich ist. Die Release-Time verändert aber das Ausschwingverhalten des Tones nach dem loslassen der Taste an der MiDI-Quelle und verlängert den Ton. Ist das richtig?
Ich habe das Reverb des entsprechenden Sounds auf maximal Ausschlag und kann mit dieser Methode ein zusätzliches Reverb ähnliches Verhalten addieren.

Gibt es einen besseren Trick um die Strings mit mehr Reverb etwas aufzupeppen? Kann ich eventuell mit dem FX3 in dem Soundeditor mehr Reverb beimischen? Wie ist der Zusammenhang zwischen dem FX3 Regler im Soundeditor und dem im Main-Kanal eingestellten FX3-Typ und dem im Kanal eingestellten Delay-Regler? Ist es besser für Strings anstelle eines Chorus den Delay im Kanal zu benutzen?

ich verwende den vA2 auch mit einem MIDI-Akkordeon. Das Akkordeon hat keinen (einstellbaren) After-Touch. Das macht sich vorallem bei Soundfonts der Kategorie Strings bemerkbar. So tönt zum Beispiel ein Stringensemble sehr dumpf. Wenn ich im Sound Editor den Release Wert von 64 auf 100 erhöhe tönt es sofort besser. Ich bin mir aber noch nicht ganz sicher über die Auswirkungen dieser Aenderung. Hat jemand Erfahrung damit? Vorallem gibt es keinen schnellen Weg zurück zu der Originaleinstellung im Falle dass ich ein Keyboard mit After-Touch eventuell parallel verwenden will. Da muss ich alle geänderten Instrumente im Song Editor  zurückändern. Das dauert bei wartendem Publikum zu lange. Gibt es eventuell eine andere Möglichkeit die ich jetzt nicht sehe, um den After-Touch global zu simulieren? Besten Dank für Euren Input.

Schlussendlich ist der Anwender das Problem? Mir ist neu dass man nur ein Instrument für die rechte Hand benutzen darf! Das wäre eine massive Einschränkung von vA2. In Midifiles werden oft alle 16 Kanäle verwendet und da habe ich nie ein Problem gehabt. Zudem funktioniert das SD2 mit denselben Einstellungen problemlos . Ich verstehe leider zuwenig von diesen vermeintlichen Einschränkungen und falschen Algorithmen beim SD1000. Ich habe das schon öfters mit der Ketron Generalvertretung in der Schweiz diskutiert. Die weisen darauf hin dass tausende von SD1000 verkauft wurden und einwandfrei funktionieren. Wir haben auch schon ein anders SD1000 ausprobiert mit denselben Ergebnissen. Sie sind der Meinung dass das Problem bei vA2 liegt. Ich bin da überfordert, aber auch sehr frustriert dass das SD1000 nicht richtig eingesetzt werden kann. Ich weiss nicht mehr weiter.....
Vielleicht kann jemand von Euch das Problem an Ketron zur Stellungnahme beschreiben. Wäre dafür sehr dankbar.

Ja aber wie bereits diskutiert kann ich sehr viele Styles nicht auf dem SD1000 abspielen weil gemäss Aussage von Dan die Polyphonie auf dem SD1000 nicht ausreicht und ich damit immer wieder Notenaussetzer hatte. Ist sehr schade. Ich würde das SD1000 den Soundfonts vorziehen. Ist für mich aber so nicht brauchbar! . Soweit ich informiert bin spielst Du mit dem SD1000 den Style und mit Deiner Wersi die rechte Hand. Das mag ja vielleicht funktionieren. Aber versuche mal nur das SD1000 als Soundmodule zu verwenden. Ich vermute dass Du dann auch die fehlende Polyphonie zum spüren bekommst. Deshalb für mein Empfinden eine halbe Lösung. Ja und das V3 Sonority kann man ja für zusätzlich Instrumente verwenden. Als alleiniges Soundmodul für den vA2 wird das nicht funktionieren weil nicht für den vA2 angepasst. (alte Geschichte!). Für die Bühne möchte ich möglichst wenig Equipment mitschleppen. Deshalb ist man auf ein einziges Soundmodule das mit dem vA2  hundertprozentig funktioniert angewiesen. Ich sehe da als Hardware Lösung nur das Soundmodule KETRON SD2 das diese Anforderung erfüllt. Der Sound ist aber halt von der vorigen Generation! Schade dass die Entwicklung des vA2 in Richtung Soundfonts läuft und seit Jahren kein neues Hardware-Soundmodule fehlerfrei in den vA2 eingebunden wurde. Die Qualität des Sounds mit den Soundfonts kommt nie an ein Hardwarelösung heran. Für mich tönen die neuen Yamaha Soundfonts zum Teil schrecklich und erinnern an Bontempi Zeiten. Klar kann man mit viel Aufwand den Sound der Soundfonts verbessern, aber ich bin kein Tontechniker der den Sound durch Mixen und Mastern auf der Bühne auf einem Supercomputer verbessern will.
Ich bin Anwender, der auf korrekte, möglichst originalgetreue Style- und Instrumenten-Wiedergabe angewiesen ist. Diese Originalität für Ketron, Yamaha, etc. habe ich im vA2 mit den Soundfonts noch nicht gehört.  Ich bin deshalb daran wieder auf einen Hardware-Arranger umzustellen und den vA2 als Lehrstück mit excellenten Bedienerfunktionen aber problematischer Sounderzeugung in Erinnerung zu behalten.

Yes it is difficult to make a comparison without original. For my taste, the GNS -Oberkrainer style has less punch. The PSR-S710-Oberkrainer style comes closer to the sent original. It is not understandable to me that the older PSR with the GNS soundfonts sounds better than the GNS-style. Is there an explanation? The whole thing unsettles me. My musical skills are not enough to really understand the connections. I would prefer to have a device ready to play without experimenting for a long time. For example, yamaha offers ready registrations for ther keyboards. It would be nice if the registration section in the forum were used a little more. And filled with vA2 registrations.

I usually play with a ketron device. It generally seems to me that the yamaha sound is a little finer, but with less foundation. For me everything takes some getting used to.

leider habe ich kein Genos-Keyboard zur Verfügung um direkte Vergleiche anzustellen. Mir ist klar dass das Musikempfinden für jeden anders ist. Habe mal versucht einen GNS-Oberkrainer-Style und einen PSR-S710-Oberkrainer-Style aufzunehmen und als Referenz ein gekauftes Oberkrainer Style. Mit welchem würdest Du bei einem Auftritt spielen? Alles klar?

Habe soeben einen Thread im englischen Forum gepostet bezüglich der Soundqualität der GNS-Soundfonts. Ich habe ganz andere Ergebnisse! Welche Styles verwendest Du? Ich habe die factory styles vom Forum runtergeladen und diese tönen zum Teil sehr schlecht, vorallem wenn Instrumente mit Artikulation (#....) verwendet werden. Könntest Du mir ein paar deiner Styles eventuell mit den verwendeten mysongs schicken, damit ich überüfen kann ob meine Installation richtig ist. Danke vielmals.

thank you for the link. As in the thread was written from Dan: "They works on vArranger, but need a bit of work to get them sound better in vArranger". Yes, I agree with this statement. These styles don't sound as good as e.g. the tyros5 factory styles from the vA2 download area. I'm desperate, but the vA2 is nowhere near the genos sound quality, even though I have installed the GNS sound fonts version2. It's a shame that the genos styles were not adapted to vA2.
Which styles do you use with the GNS sound fonts?

Thank you. I can't follow your instructions. Could you explain which page you mean (Navigation) ? I asked for the complet original internal Genos styles, not for only some styles as they are available on the downlaod page. Perhaps I have something missunterstand. Please explain me.

Danke für den Hinweis zu der INS-Mappe. Aber wie finde ich hier die Instrumente  60sShadowLead, OrganPops und FantasyBells ohne Suchfunktion? Die Navigation erfolgt doch hier über die Bank Nr die ich für die Instrumente nicht kenne. Die Suchfunktion in dem File snd.slst hat folgendes Resultat geliefert:

Ich habe nun nach langem Suchen die Parameter im Sound Editor für die Instrumente gefunden: Werte in Eckigen Klammern. Das heisst es gilt folgende Uebersetzung der Parameter:
                    snd.slst                      Sound Editor
                    Bank select 0              BANK
                    Bank select32             MSB
                    Programm change       LSB

Unerklärlich für mich ist, dass für Werte >127 der Wert 256 abgezogen werden muss. Beispiel 60ShadowLead Program change = 263-256, also den Wert 7 für Program change. Weiss jemand wieso? Ist das wirklich immer so?

Danke für die ausführlichen Erklärungen. Ja es hat sehr viele Instrumente in der Genos Soundbank wie am Beispiel der Pianos aufgezeigt. Genau diese Vielfalt und deren Dokumentation ist aber das Problem. Ich habe ursprünglich nur gefragt wie ich konkret die Instrumente 60sShadowLead, OrganPops und FantasyBells in dem rechten Soundbar finden kann (Navigationsproblem). Diese und viele andere Instrumente sind wie in der letzten Antwort bestätigt nicht in dem rechten Soundbar enthalten und müssen über den Sound Editor angesteuert werden. Mit der Instrumentenliste snd.slst, deren Link uns Dan gegeben hat, habe ich folgende Parameter für obige Instrumente gefunden:

Welche Werte muss ich im Sound Editor für Bank select 0, Bank select32 und Program Change  angeben um obige instrumente in einen Track zu laden?  Leider sind die Parameternamen im File snd.slst und im Soundeditor nicht identisch. Wie ist die Zuordnung der Parameter in snd.slst zu Sound Editor (Bank/MSB/LSB zu Bank select0/Bank select32/Program Change ?)?

Danke für den Hinweis. Als bisheriger Ketron Benutzer ist der Klang etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig . Die meisten bisherigen Ketron basierten Songs können dank dem "Ersatzrouting" des vASynth auch mit den YAMGNS Sound Banken verwendet werden. Kleinere Optimierungen sind allerdings für einen gute Klang nötig. Alles in allem aber gute Arbeit Dan.

@Wooge1000: Bin mit Deiner Aussage, dass die YAMGNS Soundbanken nur für GENOS Styles verwendet werden können nicht ganz einverstanden. Man kann durchaus auch die rechte Hand damit bestücken. Die Zuweisung des richtigen Sounds passiert durch ein Routing innerhalb das vASynth sogar automatisch und ist brauchbar.

Ja aber das löst das Problem nicht . Wenn ich mit diesen Einstellungen für einige mySounds andere Soundfonts z.Bsp BK7 Sounds, verwende habe ich beim Umschalten von einem mySound auf den anderen grosse Probleme mit transienten Lautstärken ! Das verärgert meine Zuhörer und der Saal ist sofort leer. In vA2 müssen die Lautstärken der Soundfonts ungefähr gleich sein, da machen auch die Yamaha Soundfonts keine Ausnahme. Ich erwarte als Kunde ein Produkt in dem die Funktionsblöcke aufeinander abgestimmt sind. Das scheint hier nicht der Fall zu sein. Bitte um eine echte Lösung für das Problem.

@Dan. Herzlichen Dank für die Info. Das erklärt Einiges aber nicht Alles. Wie kann ich die in der snd Liste aufgelisteten Instrumente für einen Track auswählen. Die meisten sind in der Sound Bar auf der rechten Seite nicht vorhanden. Im Sound Editor kann ich die PGC nur bis max. 127 wählen .

Wie kann ich dann z. Bsp. die SAGoldenTrumpet aus der snd Liste für RIGHT1 auswählen:

       YA-GM b V3.3.vsmpl   8   34   320   SAGoldenTrumpet

Mir fehlen dazu doch noch einige Informationen . Bitte um Info wie die Auswahl von Instrumenten mit Nummern > 127 auszuwählen sind. Danke

Habe mir von Dan die neusten Yamaha sound fonts YAMGNS gekauft (50 Euro für Upgrade + 50 Euro für Support!) und im Ordner vArrangerData\sounds\samples installiert. Leider funktionieren die Soundfonts nicht wie erwartet. Eines der Hauptproblem die ich habe ist:

Fehlende Instrumente: Wenn ich in mysound die Kategorie anwähle, z. Bsp. PIANO dann erscheinen in der Sound-Liste nur eine kleine Untermenge der in der Datenliste von Genos aufgeführten Instrumente/(Pianos). Dies gilt für sämtliche Kategorien. Welche Instrumente stehen denn nun zur Verfügung? Gibt es irgendwo eine Sound-Liste dazu?
Ich habe mit dem Yamaha Registration Manager eine Registration analysiert und wollte die darin aufgeführten Instrumente im vA2 in einen mySound einbinden (V01:60sShadowLead, V02: OrganPops V03: FantasyBells). Aber ich kann die Instrumente nirgends in vA2 finden. Brauche ich dazu ein INS file?

Mir fehlt eine inhaltliche Beschreibung der gelieferten Yamaha Sound Fonts in YAMGNS. Welche Instrumente sind in den Mega##Voice.vsmpl , YA-##V3.3.vsmpl und in den YA-## OTS.vsmpl Banken implementiert? Von welchem Instrument sind diese Bänke (Genos, Tyros ....). Hat jemand von Euch eine Dokumentation der Instrumente in den Soundbanks? Besten Dank.

Hallo.

Lautstärke: Die Soundfonts tönen mit dem vASynth extrem leise. Als Soundmodule habe ich ein Soundblaster PLAY!3 im Einsatz. Mit den SD2 Sound Fonts von Dan funktioniert das mit Einstellung der rechten Slider des vA2  (MASTER, RIGHT, LEFT und STYLE) auf ca 65 für den Line Eingang im Mischpult korrekt. Für die neuen Soundfonts YAMGNS musste ich die 4 rechten Slider im vA2 (MASTER, RIGHT, LEFT und STYLE) alle auf Maximalwerte  (127) und den verwendeten Line Eingang meines Mischpultes praktisch auf Vollausschlag einstellen, damit ich annähernd dieselbe Lautstärke wie für die SD2 Sound Fonts erhielt. Damit werden die Störgeräusche natürlich auch verstärkt. Mit diesen Einstellungen wird das YAMGNS gemischt mit anderen sound fonts, aber auch als reine Yamaha Genos Engine praktisch nicht einsetzbar. Gibt es Abhilfe? Wie ist Eure Erfahrung damit? Danke für jeglichen input.

Guten Tag.
Ich nutze am vA2 den AUDIO INPUT für den Gesang über ein Mikrofon. Für die Funktion "dry on stop" und "song with effects" kann ich mittels Controller 363 "AUDIO INPUT FX ON/OFF" per Fusschalter die Effekte aus- und einschalten.

Nun wollte ich für Refrains etc.. ein Harmonizer VST-Plugin zuschalten. Mit der Version Octavox von https://www.eventideaudio.com/products/effects/pitch-shift/octavox soll gemäss Herstellerangaben eine Steuerung per MIDI über die Keyboardtastatur möglich sein. Konkret möchte ich mit dem vA2-Track LEFT1 die Akkorde zur Steuerung der Octavox Harmonien verwenden. Leider kann vom Track LEFT1 mit "SEND TO MIDIOUT3" nur die VST Plugins für die rechte Hand angeben, aber nicht das Plugin das in AUDIO INPUT definiert wurde. Hat jemand schon Erfahrung wie das im vA2 funktionieren könnte. Besten Dank für Eure Unterstützung.

Man könnte dann auch eine Registrationsbibliothek im Forum erstellen wo man unter Mitgliedern Registrationen austauschen könnte. Ich sehe in der aktuellen Version von vA2 keine Möglichkeit dazu.

At the specified link you will find only a few styles for the newer ketron keyboards but many converted styles from older models (MS, X. XD ..) which do not sound good in every case. And unfortunatly the vA2 can not play the styles from the new keyboards like sd7, sd9, SD80 and soundmodules  sd40, sd90. That would be very nice to have this feature in the vA2. Is there a function for playing .KST styles forseen in your plans?

It is a pity nobody has a complete set of SD1 styles. As already mentioned, the styles are the heart of the vA2. Only with first-class styles are the possibilities of the va2 synthesizer valid.
With the installation of the vA2, the styles of the SD5/SD3/SD8 are installed in the groups. These are very good. But unfortunately there are a few important styles that would only be available in the SD1. That's why my request in this forum.

Yes, filing is not for everyone. But without a complete original and proved set of any Ketron Style-Set the vA2 makes no sense for me . Styles are the heart of vA2! Have you any complete set of styles for a Ketron-Keyboard (X1, SD1, SD5, Audya ...)? Maybe a user has a whole set of factory styles for a Ketron keyboard. Please get in touch.

It seems that these are additional styles to the styles listed in the official table. Will download this. Thanks for the link. The styles are identical for the SD1 and SD1 plus. Where can I find the missing styles such as 8 Beat A to 8 Ballad in 8 Beat folder?

I can't find the table.pdf in the above download. But anyway, thank you for give me the link. I could downlaod the SD1-table. I made the twelve directories and copied the patterns in the corresponding directory. (See the attached zip) There are some patterns missing and some I could not associate to the SD1 Tab. Your zip file is therfore not a exact copy of the sd1 pattern list. Could you explain me why it isn't? It's only for my understanding. Perhaps one could make a 1:1 copy of the SD1 patterns.

Ich verwende die Soundfonts von Dan, allerdings bis jetzt nur für Ketron und nur für Ketron-Styles. Ich habe damit praktisch ein Ketron-Keyboard vom Typ SDx zur verfügung. Ich habe praktisch keine Erfahrung mit Yamaha-Keyboards, bin aber begeistert von dem neuen GENOS. Es wäre schön wenn man dieses Keyboard möglichst 1:1 auf dem vA2 abbilden könnte. Du schreibst dass man im Internet viele Registrierungen für Yamaha Tyros4 Keyboards im Internet findet. Könntest Du mir ein paar Links angeben? Wo finde ich den erwähnten Yamaha Editor wo man die Registrierungen auslesen kann? Wäre Dir dankbar für einen Link.

I have installed the tyros sounds as listed on bottom in the directory vArrangerData\Sounds\Samples.
As mentioned I'm playing normaly only with the SD2 sound kit. There I have a file named "SD2 Drums V2.1". In the Tyros4 sound set I can't find such a drum file. Could you please explain to a dummy Tyros4 user what the difference beetween the files "Tyros4 Bank ...." and the "Tyros YA- ..." is? Are this different instruments?
Perhaps the drums are in the file "Tyros4 Bank 000.000-V1.5.vsmpl" aren't they?

I'm using the ketron sd2 sound bank from Dan. It sounds very nice. I've bought also the yamaha sound bank. But I could not achieve a good sound for the styles. Could you tell me which samples you have stored in your \vArrangerData\Sounds\SAMPLES directory?  I'm missing the drums samples for the tyros4 in the yamaha set from Dan. Which drum set you have installed?

Ohne aktive oder passive Statusabfrage des SD1000 wird eine sichere Synchronisation der Effekte zum SD1000 nie möglich sein! Die Nachführung einer History in einer Software ist immer problematisch und nie absolut zuverlässig!

Es gibt einige vA2-Benutzer die gemäss Posts in diesem Forum das SD1000 als Soundmodule verwenden. Ich frage mich wie diese Benutzer das SD1000 ohne richtige Effekteinstellungen im vA2 nutzen können. Bitte meldet Euch mit Euren Erfahrungen in der Anwendung des SD1000 im vA2. Besten Dank.

Ja wenn ich so etwas höre dann vergeht mir der Spass am musizieren!

Die Frage ist dann noch wie lange bleibt die Einstellung? Bis zum nächsten RESET ALL? Oder bis zum nächsten Song? Jedenfalls wenn ich vA2 neu starte sind die Einstellungen rein optisch nicht mehr ersichtlich und der Effekt ist weg. Wenn man mindestens mal eine Speicherung und Restore der letzten Einstellungen bei einem Neustart des vA2 hätte. Aber selbst diese Funktion fehlt. So wie heute implementiert können die Effekte des SD1000 im vA2 nicht genutzt werden. Ich bitte Dan um eine Information ob und wann die vollständige Implementation der SD1000 Effekte erfolgt. Ich lass mal vorläufig die Finger weg bis eine stabile Implementation vorliegt.

Hallo Zusammen.
Ich wollte für einen speziellen Anlass mein SD1000 im vArranger verwenden. Dazu sollte ich ein PLATE Reverb für die rechte Hand zuschalten. Ich habe den Knopf "RESET ALL" im SD1000 EFFECT Menu gedrückt und dann auf der rechten Seite oben beim Reverb "PLATE" ausgewählt. Leider kann ich dann kein Reverb hören. Kann mir jemand eine kurze Anleitung geben wie ich den PLATE Reverb auf die rechte Hand aufschalten kann.
Ich dachte dass die Effekte auf der rechten Seite (Reverb, Chorus, Master Equalizer) irgend eine Art Master-Section sind und autonom ohne Routing der Eingänge funktionieren und das Eingangsrouting (SEND TRACK TO DSP) nur auf den grossen Block einen Einfluss haben. Vielleicht kann mir jemand erklären wie die Zusammenhänge zwichen den einzelnen Blöcken funktionieren.

Ja das mit der fehlenden Demo Version hat mich am Anfang auch sehr gestört. Dan ist aber sehr kulant und wird Dir das Geld zurückerstatten falls nach einer vereinbarten Testphase der vA2 nicht Deinen Vorstellungen entspricht. Ich habe nach einem ersten Versuch die Lizenz zurückgegeben und Dan hat mir den Kaufpreis auf mein Paypal Konto zurück erstattet. In einem zweiten Anlauf, nachdem ich gewillt war mich mit dem Produkt intensiv zu beschäftigen, hat es dann geklappt. Der vA2 ist und bleibt ein Nischenprodukt und ist keine Massenware mit einem (über)organisierten Support. Hier spricht man noch direkt mit dem Entwickler und nicht mit einem Trouble-Ticket! Eine kommerzielle Vermarktung inklusive Demo-Version würde auch sofort einen höheren Preis zur Folge haben, desshalb ist es gut so wie es ist.     

Heute verwende ich ausschliesslich den vA2 mit den Soundfonts von Dan und einem Voice Live Touch Vocalizer mit einem Masterkeyboard. Ich bin damit sehr zufrieden.

Mein Fazzit: Man muss gewillt sein sich mit dem vA2 intensiv zu beschäftigen. Dank dem excellenten Support von Dan konnte ich jedes Problem lösen. Versuch das mal mit einem Gerät einer renomierten Marke wie z. Bsp Ketron SD40. Da bekommst Du vom Lieferanten garantiert keine Antwort auf Deine Fragen. Der Händler wird Dir gerne gegen Bezahlung weiterhelfen! Ich kann Dir den vA2 mit dem persönlichen Support von Dan wirklich wärmstens empfehlen.  Für mich stimmt der Preis für das was man dafür bekommt, nämlich den Ersatz eines sehr teuren Arranger-Keyboards inklusive kostenlosem Support und Softwareupdate. Hoffe Dich in diesem Forum bald als vA2-Besitzer begrüssen zu dürfen.

danke für die beiden Links zum Winamp-Enhancer und der VST-Brücke. Gibt es da auch eine 64 bit Version? Die vst-winamp.dll ist leider nur 32bit und damit nicht kompatibel mit meiner 64 Bit-Installation des vA2-Synthesizers.

Danke für Eure Informationen. Im Vergleich zu den neuen Soundmodulen von Ketron (SD40, SD90..)  klingt der vA2-SF2 sehr verhalten. Die Instrumente der neuen Ketron Module sind wirklich "natural" wie die Werbung verspricht. Aber auch der Sound des Style-Player dieser Module ist  abwechslungreich und mit den live Drums sehr nahe an einer echten Begleitband. Vermutlich bringen beim vA2-SF2 die vsti-Effekte FX1,FX2 und FX3 nicht eine wesentliche Verbesserung. Vielleicht gibt es ja bald eine verbesserte Version der SF2-Soundfonts von Dan.  Ich habe die SD1000 Soundfonts von Rumen Mattev auch ausprobiert, bin aber wie Manni0815 nicht überzeugt von der Qualität. Vermutlich bringen nur professionell erstellte Soundfonts eine wirkliche Verbesserung. Ich glaube da kann aber nur Dan weiterhelfen, weil dann auch der Styleplayer diese Soundfonts verwenden müsste, ansonsten bringt das nix.
Bin mal gespannt was in nächster Zeit von Dan angeboten wird. Ohne Soundfonts der neuen Keyboards wie Yamaha Genos und Ketron SD40, SD90 wird der vA2 einen schweren Stand auf dem Markt haben.

Hallo.
Ich verwende den vA2 mit den Soundfonts von Dan. Das Resultat ist meines Erachtens sehr abhängig von den verwendeten Vsti-Plugins für FX1, FX2, FX3 und Master. Mich würde deshalb interessieren was Ihr für Vsti-Plugins verwendet und welche Presets resp. Einstellungen Ihr verwendet. Ich habe folgende vsti installiert:

FX1 Reverb: Reverb Solo von Acon Digital. Einfach zu bedienen mit zwei Parametern
FX2 Chorus: TAL Chorus-LX
FX3 Delay: TAL-DUB-III
Master: Magix Host Rack mit Marvel GEQ und A1 StereoControl

Würde mich freuen noch bessere Plugins, auch kostenpflichtige kennenzulernen. Gerne erwarte ich dazu Eure Vorschläge.

für einen Auftritt suche ich auf Kundenwunsch ein Playbackfile (Midi oder MP3) oder einen knackigen Style den ich auf dem Varranger wiedergeben kann. Hallo Zusammen.
Auf anraten des Herstellers habe ich mir anstelle des V3-YAMMEX das V3-XXL Soundmodule gekauft. Nach Aussagen des Herstellers  sind es dieselben Samples, nur etwas anders angeordnet. Dieses Module hat zudem auf Bank 0 die normalen GM-Midi Sounds. Ansonsten gibt es die Bänke für VariationSounds, Classic Orchestra, Organs, Accordions, Guitar, Bass, Brass, Sax,Woodwinds, Synthesizerund Ethno. Es gibt einige Spezial-Instrumente wie das Alphorn, Schwyzerörgeli und einige mehr, die ich sehr gut finde. Auch die Organs und Accordions sind das Beste was ich bisher gehört habe. Die Vielfalt z. Bsp bei der Sektion Classic Orchestra ist fast erschlagend und zum Teil sehr spezifisch, ich werde dies nie voll ausnutzen können, da ich wenig klassiche Musik spiele. Die Qualität der übrigen Instrumente sind vergleichbar mit dem SD1000. Hätte vorallem von der Sax und Brass Section etwas mehr erwartet.

Dann ist da noch das Problem der Integration in vA2. Mit dem selbst angefertigten Ins-File mit 18  Bänken können die Instrumente geladen werden. Mit den vielen Bänken ist die Uebersicht aber schwierieg und zudem erscheint in der Track Anzeige dann nicht der im Ins-File gewählte Instrumentenname sondern einer aus dem GM-Midi Sortiment. Für mich unbrauchbar........ Schade dass Dan hier nicht wie versprochen eine Lösung anbietet.

Ich verwende nun für die linke Hand (Styles) die sf2-Soundfonts von Dan und für die rechte Hand (Melodie) wahlweise sf2-Soundfonts oder das V3-XXL oder mein Favoriten Soundmodule über Midi-Out2 reps. -Out 3.  Bin damit gut zufrieden.

Alles in Allem gibt es im V3-XXL einige schöne Instrumente im Bereich Akkordeons und Organs, aber der Rest ist vergleichbar mit übrigen Soundmodulen, eben Standard halt. Das Gerät ist übrigens 1 1/2  so teuer wie das SD1000. 

Mein Favorit und Geheimtyp bleibt dieses http://www.gwerder-elektronik.ch/product_info.php?products_id=355 Soundmodule . Hat weniger Instrumente aber dafür sehr authentisch und klanglich einiges besser als die übrigen Sound-Module im Einsatz von Schlager und Volksmusik.

Aber jeder hat seinen eigenen Geschmack und Vorlieben was Sound angeht und das ist auch gut so. Wünsche weiterhin viel Spass beim Musizieren.

yes all the names of the sf2 sound fonts of the instruments will be shown in the voicelist and in the track bar of varranger,  but unfortunatly with the .ins file the names of the instruments will not be shown in the trackbar. So what I've done is: I made "dummy sf2's" (without any samples)  with the same name and bank information of the instruments as in the external soundmodule (not sf2). Then the instruments will be shown in the voicebank and the tracks with the same name and bank informations as in the external soundmodule. I will no longer use .ins files.

habe von Klaus eine neue Soundliste für das V3-Yammex erhalten. Für den Bankselect wird hier für LSB=63(fix) und MSB=x wobei x im Range von 80 bis 96 liegt, verwendet. Weiss jemand wo man im .ins file das LSB=63 definieren muss? Oder hat jemand schon eine .ins Datei für das neue V3-Yammex (nicht V3-Sonority) erstellt und könnte mir diese zustellen?

thank you for the answer. could you explain me where the expanded GM2 sounds will be displayed? I could not find the GM2 sounds in the voice bar on the right site and have never seen a expanded GM2 instrument in the tracks 1 to 8. I have loaded only your SD2 Banks and there I can't find the GM2 voices, for example the wide acoustic grand (bank1) in the PIANO-Group. Where is GM2 Bank1 and GM Bank2 stored?
So what I only would know is, if it is possible to use a GM2 compatible soundmodule instead of the SD1000 or the sf2 by setting the GM2 modifier in the midi out 1. The reason is the SD1000 that will not work properly due to polyphony problems as mentioned earlier, so I have to find a better one (V3-Sonority?),  perhaps a GM2 compatible one, so I need no additional interface in vA2?

im vArranger gibt es ja die Möglichkeit beim midi out GM2 anzuwählen. Der GM2-Standard hat für jeden patch 3 bänke mit den sounds belegt. (Quelle Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_MIDI_Level_2 ). Bei er Verwendung der sf2 soundbänke hat Dan mir mehrmals bestätigt den Mode GM2 zu verwenden. Das funktioniert so auch. Leider kann ich aber keine Verbindung von den geladenen sf2 Bänken  (SD2 Bank A-V1.vsmpl bis SD2 Bank C-V1.vsmpl) zu den in GM2 definierten instrumenten finden. Für GM2 sind z. Bsp für Patch1 folgene Pianos definiert: Accoustic Grand Piano (Bank 0), Wide Acoustic Grand (Bank1), Dark Acoustic Grand (Bank2). Ich finde aber in der Instrumentenliste des vA2 die beiden letztgennanten Pianos nicht. Auch bei den übrigen Patches finde ich die in GM2 definierten Instrumente nicht in der vA2 Voiceliste.
Ist es überhaupt möglich ein GM2 kompatibles Soundmodule am midi out 1 des vA2 mit der GM2 Einstellung zu betreiben?  Hat das schon jemand probiert?

auf der Homepage von V3 wird das Modul neu als V3 YAMMEX-Erweiterungsmodul mit GM Instrumenten und ausgewählten Instrumenten aus den verschiedenen bestehenden (Classic, Tradition...) Soundmodulen angeboten. Die GM-Sounds liegen gemäss Dokumentation auf den Bänken ab Nummer 55. Damit funktioniert wohl das V3 nicht als autonomes Soundmodule wie das SD1000 oder? Die Styles im VA2 verwenden ja die GM-Sounds der Bank 0 und wenn nötig zusätzliche Instrumente aus den übrigen Bänken (Bank1, 10, 11). Wie Du geschrieben hast verwendest Du das V3 als zusätzliches Erweiterungsmodul zum SD1000. Hast Du mal getestet ob das V3 auch als vollwertiger Ersatz zu dem SD1000 mit dem vA2 funktioniert? Werden die KETRON Styles dabei vom vA2 Style Player richtig abgespielt? Leider stellt Klaus Geräte zum Antesten nur im Euro Raum zur Verfügung und da gehört die Schweiz ja bekanntlich nicht dazu. Bevor ich aber die 590 Euro investiere möchte ich sicher sein dass das Gerät mit dem vA2 als Ersatz für das SD1000 funktioniert.

ja das ganze Produktesortiment von V3 wurde neu organisiert und gestrafft, auf einige wenige Varainten. ist gut so.

Leider heisst der neue Keyboard-Expander "V3 YAMMEX" und ist gemäss Beschreibung eine Erweiterung für Yamaha Keyboards. Damit können die Bänke des "V3 YAMMEX" direkt aus Yamaha Keyboards verwaltet (eingebunden) werden.

Ist eigentlich schade dass man sich so auf eine Keyboard-Marke spezialisiert. Sicherlich kann man die Bänke auch über ein .ins file in den vA2 einbinden, aber eine echte Integration sieht anders aus. Ich bin mal auf die angekündigten Testergebnisse bezüglich Handling mit dem vA2 von Haweneu gespannt. Jedenfalls besten Dank dass er uns in diesem Forum über die V3 Entwicklung informiert. Danke auch für die Tests.

Ach ja, im "V3 YAMMEX" Modul hatten auch noch typische Schweizer Instrumente wie das Alphorn, das Hackbrett und andere platz. Ist super!

danke Werner für Deine Informationen. Ja das stimmt ich kann den Reverb und den Chorus mit den beiden Trackreglern im vA2 in der Intensität pro Track einstellen.
Komme aber mit dem in den optionen/effects angezeigten SD1000 EFECTS Menu nicht klar und brauche Eure Unterstützung. Das Menu ist ja mit Panels abgegrenzt. Wo sind die Abhängigkeiten dieser Panels?


MASTER-Panel (rot): REVERB und CHORUS sowie der EQUALIZER wirken global auf alle Tracks des vA2. Funktioniert auch ganz ordentlich.

REVERB- und CHORUS-Panel (rot): Hier müsste nach meinem Verständnis mit den Listboxen die globalen Reverb- und Chorus-Presets eingestellt werden können. Bei mir funktioniert das aber nicht. Ich höre keine Unterschiede. Warum?

DSP-Panel (gelb): Die nachfolgenden Sub-Panels beziehen sich auf den gewählten DSP1 oder DSP2 oder DSP1+2. Wenn ich mit den Listboxen die Presets auswähle werden die Knopfe entsprechedn eingestellt, aber ich höre keine Effekte. Warum nicht?

SEND TRACK TO DSP1 /2 (blau): Hier kann ich gezielt angeben auf welchen Track ich die DSP-Effekte anwenden will. Habe hier mal L1-L4 und R1-R4 stereo angeklickt. Höre aber keine Effekte. Warum nicht?

Wie sieht das bei Euch aus? Kann mir jemand eine Anleitung geben wie ich das Funktionieren der Effekte testen kann?

That confirms my experience. I made some measures  with the tool midi ox and saw that for example for the Reverb listbox in the SD1000 EFFECTS menu there is sent a 11 byte sysex command F0410042124001310200F7 and for the chorus listbox is sent a 7 byte sysex F0267B010011F7. Only the second sysex command is documented in the SD1000 manual. The other sysex command is not documented. But it seems that both commands will not affect the types of reverb or chorus. It means that I can not hear a difference. Has someone used different types for reverb and chorus into the vA2 SD1000 EFFECTS menu? For me it seems that it is not working. Has someone any idea how to use the SD1000 effects?

As you can see it is not clear for me where to set which effects.  It would be helpful to have a tutorial which explain the use of the SD1000 EFFECTS window. I have startet in the wiki manual with a short description, but I don't know the details as you as power user. Thank you very much.

if you define in the midi port menu the SD1000 as device then you will find it in the options/effects menu. I have made also a additional description in the online user manual. You can take this as a help.

Hi,
I've connected a ketron sd1000 to the va2 midi. It will work, but I dont't know how to use the effect parameters in the SD1000 EFFECT menu.  As I understand there is no possibility to store the parameters, so they could be seen next time I start the va2. Instead after start the SD1000 EFFECTS menu shows default values. So I hope that if make some changes in the effects menu they would be stored in the sd1000 permanently. Could someone confirm that?
I made some changes (see attachment) but for me they have not the effects as I expected. Could someone give here an example (snapshot of the SD1000 EFFECTS menu) of a good parametrisation of the sd1000 in stereo for an all purpose gig situation?

nach zwei intensiven erfolglosen Experimentier- und Testtagen hatte ich direkten Kontakt mit Dan bezüglich des Problems. Vielleicht interressiert jemand die Antwort. Stichwort ist Polyphony (Mehrstimmigkeit). Das SD1000 hat gemäss Herstellerangaben eine Polyphony  von 128. Die gespielten Noten in den 16 Spuren (Style, Linke Hand, Rechte Hand) ergeben zusammengezählt die Polyphony. Da kommt schon was zusammen! Es scheint nun dass die Polyphony-Grenze von 128 bei einigen meiner Sound-Arrangements erreicht wird. Insbesondere wenn der Akkord gleichzeitig zum Style und rechter Hand mehrmals nacheinander gedrückt wird, was bei den Akkordeonspielern oft vorkommt. Dan Schreibt: I think ketron did not take care very well to select the voice that are cut when polyphony is over. Ja da hat Ketron seine Aufgaben wirklich nicht gemacht. Sie stoppen einfach die Wiedergabe der zuletzt gedrückten Note(n) der rechten Hand. Das ist unbrauchbar!.

Anders sieht es bei dem internen vASynth aus, d.h. wenn ich Sound Fonts verwende. Der vASynth hat gmäss auskunft Dan, eine Polyphony von 256 und einen intelligenten Abschaltmechanismus. Er schreibt dazu: the vA synth has actually polyphony of 256, and also is smart, as it will cut voices that are the most low volume, so you don't perceive it. Tatsächlich hatte ich bei denselben Songs im Sound Font Modus noch nie Probleme.

Die Lösung ist, dass man halt Spuren ausschalten muss bis die Polyphony von 128 nicht mehr erreicht wird. Das heisst aber auch Qualitätseinbussen in der Soundqualität. Weiss der Teufel nach welchem Schema man bei der Spurabschaltung vorgehen muss. Wie viel Reserve muss ich für einen zuverlässigen Betrieb einbauen? Und wer gibt mir die Garantie dass es danach nie wieder auftritt? Im moment sehe ich nur ein Experimentieren und danach Hoffen dass es bei einem Gig nie auftritt. Für mich ist deshalb die Lösung mit einem externen Sound Module SD2 oder SD1000 nicht zuverlässig brauchbar!

@Hawenu: Wie sieht es beim V3 Sonority aus. Das hat ja denselben Soundprozessor und müsste eigentlich dasselbe (unbrauchbare) Verhalten aufweisen oder?

@Wooge: Die Polyphony ist unabhängig von der Midi-Verbindung. Sie tritt bei beiden Anschlussarten USB oder MIDI im selben Mass auf. Bis jetzt habe ich keine weiteren einschränkende Unterschiede zwischen den beiden Anschlussarten festgestellt. Und glaube mir, ich habe intensiv getestet!

Wie ist eure Erfahrung? Warum wurde diese Einschränkung hier im Forum noch nie erwähnt? Habt Ihr alle keine Probleme damit und wie könnt Ihr damit umgehen?
Mich interessieren Eure Meinungen dazu brennend.

besten Dank Haweneu  für die Antwort. Ja es läuft ein Style und es passiert nur wenn ich einen Akkord einmal oder mehrmals anschlage. Dies würde für Deine Theorie sprechen. Allerdings habe ich dieses Phänomen nur beim SD1000. Dieselbe Registrierung für Style, Left- und Right- Hand funktioniert einwandfrei auf dem SD2 und mit Soundfonts. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit das zu umgehen? Hallo SD1000 Benutzer, gibt es jemand der dieses Phänomen kennt  und vielleicht ein Mittel zur Abhilfehat hat? Vielleicht weiss Dan ja etwas darüber, dann bitte melden.

ich habe das Soundmodule Ketron SD2 mit dem SD1000 ausgetauscht und habe seitdem Probleme die ich beim SD2 nicht hatte. Wenn ich zwei Tasten gleichzeitig drücke und länger halte, bricht plötzlich ein Ton oder auch beide aprupt ab. So zum Beispiel nachvollziehbar beim Choir Aah (Bank0 Program 53). Woran kann das liegen?

ich habe mir ein SD1000 Soundmodule gekauft und versuche nun dieses in mein vA2 Setup einzubinden. So richtig gut tönt ja das SD1000 nur mit dem Einsatz der zwei DSP's. Dazu hat Dan ja auch einige Presets im SD1000 Effects Menu erstellt. Welche Presets verwendet Ihr? Könnte jemand der das SD1000 verwendet hier mal einen Snapshot eines wirklich gut abgestimmten Effekt Parameter-Cocktails posten? Ja dann bin ich vermutlich auch an dem Problem der Full-Save Funktion angekommen! Ich möchte vorerst nur eine globale Parameter-Einstellung für die Effekte abspeichern können, damit man nicht bei jedem Start die Parametrisierung der Effekte des SD1000 händisch vornehmen muss. Funktioniert das, oder ist das noch in Entwicklung? Für mich ist das SD1000 ohne Speichermöglichkeit der Effekt-Parameter nicht brauchbar! Oder wie benutzt Ihr die SD1000 Effekte? Danke für Eure Anregungen.

Das ist aber jetzt wirklich schade, nur gut dass ich noch kein V3-Sonority gekauft habe. Ich tu mich schwer mit den .INS files, da man ja nicht im Klartext sieht welches Instrument ausgewählt wurde. Es ist wirklich eine verpasste Chance von beiden Dan und Klaus zwei hervorragende Produkte zusammen zu bringen. Hat jemand ein komplettes .INS file für den v3-Sonority erstellt? Wie werden eigentlich die Effektypen am VA2 für den Sonority eingestellt? Es gibt ja einen Reverb-Regler am V3-Sonority mit dem ich die Intensität des Reverb einstellen kann, aber wie kann ich den Reverb-Typ (Room, Arena....) mittels VA2 für das V3-Sonority einstellen?

Du hast geschrieben dass Du gleichzeitig sowohl das V3-Sonority Module und das SD1000 benutzt. Wie definierst Du die beiden MIDI-Geräte im vA2? Im MIDI Setup Menu des vA2 kann man ja nur einen MIDI Kanal wählen. Mit einem MIDI-Splitter könnte ich das Signal auf beide Geräte routen, aber wie unterscheide ich dann ob das Instrument aus V3-Sonority oder dem SD1000 erklingen soll?

Thank you Werner for this information. In this situation the V3Sonority is obsolete for me. To use two different soundmodules may be a good idea for using in a studio, but for a live gig this setup seems for me to complicated. So I will not buy the V3-Sonority soundmodule and use furtherhin the vASynth with the soundfonts.

have you tested this SD1000 soundfonts in vArranger with the vASynth? I have done and had problems with some styles. They sound not as good as with the soundfonts from Dan. For example the ketron style (X1/B) Wiener! Some End and Fills are to loud compared to the normal style. Some accompagnients (ACC) are too loud and are replaced with fault instruments. For example (PAD)Texas is replaced by (EL Guitar) Steel and that sounds not good!  I say not that the soundfonts are not good, but they are not optimized for playing in vASynth. Perhaps Dan can optimize something in vASynth for this soundfonts.

I have a problem to store the FX1 and FX2 values permanently in my configuration vA2 with external SD2 device. Can someon tell me how I can store the group master effects FX1 and FX2 permanently After changing the FX1 and FX2 parameters they will be overwritten on next start of vA2 with allways the same (default) values (THEATRE 14, SHORT DELAY, DELAY 1, DISTO 1) instead the values I have changed (ARENA 16, CHORUS3, DELAY 1, DISTOR OFF).

Kannst Du mir erklären wie Du die VST-Einstellungen im Song speicherst und dann natürlich wieder lädst? Ich habe das nicht geschafft. Ich habe den SF2 Player sforzando geladen und kann da beliebige sf2 soundfonts laden und einem Track zuweisen. Habe es aber nicht geschafft die Einstellunge so abzuspeichern dass diese das nächste mal mit dem Song für den gewählten Track mitgeladen werden. Wäre Dir dankbar wenn wir das Thema hier etwas vertiefen könnten.

many thanks for the answer. I agree with you that a "clone" is not the best solution and the V3 specific instruments could with this solution even imported only over a INS file.

Therefore it is nice to hear that you will display the sound names from the INS file in the tracks. That would be the solution for all of the modules they will ever be on the market. They could be integrated with a INS File.

An other problem will be the global- and song-specific Effects (reverb, chord...). Here I think one should limit to a simple solution and let the user define the device specific sysex commands for reverb, delay and chord and only configurable for global. A solution like for the sd2 would be enough, but with configurable device specific sysex- or CC-commands.

as hawenau mentioned in an earlier post, the V3-Sonority will be adapted to simulate a SD1000 until the frankfurt fare. But I think that the V3-Sonority specific instruments and especially the additional modules (Organ,Akkordeon, etc.) could only integrated over a ins-file. There we have will have the problem that the channels ar not written with the correct instrument names. I can't believe that the steering of the effects could be made with the same effect window as it is used for the SD1000.

Therefore the initial question from carlo is a good question. There are now a view vA2 users who are interested to use the V3-Sonority module. Why not made a full integration in vA2 lwith a new device "V3-Sonority" who can be chosen in the Midi-out Menu?  Why not a additional effect window in the options, like ist is implemented for sd2 and sd1000?

Dan please answer our questions about the integration of V3-Sonority. If it is a commercial problem, we should find a solution. (Each option has a price!)

thanks for the explanation. So if I have right understand the BANK can contain the PRESET's if more than one exist. If one save the parameters only with BANK-Save and the vst has no bank then it can happens that nothig is saved. Is that right? So the best will be, to press both the BANK and PRESET buttons. I can not understand the statement that the user should decide which button he should use, when on the other hand the vsti will made the decision. Sorry that I did not understand that. Could you explain it for me. Thanks.

with the newest vA2-software (v1.18.02) one has the possibility to save the vst options as bank or as preset in the VST-OPTIONS window. What is the different between this two store possibilities? Wich one should I use to save for example the TAL-REVERB-4 parameters?
Wich of the startup config is loaded, bank or preset, on starting the vA2?
Could someon explain here the functions for store and load in the vst option windows in detail. Perhaps there will be a description for the vst bank/register concept on the internet, then please write here the url.

Wie weit bist Du mit der V3Sound Sonortity .INS Datei? Klaus von V3Sound sagte mir dass Du für Ihn diese Datei erstellst.

Ich habe mal eine .ins-Datei für ein Soundmodule mit schweizerischen Instrumenten geschreiben. Leider wurde in dem Kanal nicht der Name des aus der .ins Datei ausgewählten Instrumentes angezeigt, sondern der Name aus dem SD1000.
Beispiel: Ich habe aus der .ins Datei das Instrument GOLA H (Bank 64, PG MSB 0, PG LSB 34) angewählt. In der Kanalbeschriftung erscheint der Text "A-035-Picked [64-0-34]". Das ist verwirrlich und beim Spielen weiss ich dann überhaupt nicht welche Instrumente gewählt wurden. Klar gibt der Ausdruck in der rechteckigen Klammer mindestens die Adressieung des gewählten Instrumentes an, aber ohne Uebersetzungshilfe kann ich nicht auf das gewählte Instrument aus der .ins Datei schliessen. Dan meinte dazu dass das wegen Umschaltzeiten (Latenzen) nicht geändert werden kann. 

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit das in der .ins Datei zu regeln? Ansonsten sehe ich einer Integration des V3Sound-Modules skeptisch entgegen. Vorallem bei den nicht mit dem SD1000 konformen Instrumenten aus den speziellen Pack's. Ich sehe da nur eine Lösung, die vollstandige Integration des V3Sound-Modules, das dann als separates Modul aus dem MIDI OUT Menu angewählt werden kann und die Instrumente in der Voiceliste vollständig und korrekt angezeigt werden und so auch in den Kanälen angezeigt wird. Was meinst Du dazu?

danke für die Info. Ja die Regler im Hauptfeld werden aktiv sobald die entsprechenden vsti-Effekte geladen werden. Ich habe mit dem MIDIOX gesehen dass beim Laden eines usersongs effektiv ein Reverb CC und Chorus CC mit den Werten der Kanalregler gesendet wird. Dies in übereinstimmung mit Deiner Aussage, dass  der Reverb immer gesendet wird und der Chorus nur wenn als Effekt in der Listbox Chorus angewäht wurde.  Wann und wie allerdings die weiteren Effekte Leslie slow, leslie fast, Disto und Delay angewendet werden ist mir nicht klar und geht auch aus der Beschreibung nicht hervor. Klaus von V3Sound hat mich darauf hingewiesen dass hier bei den übrigen Effekten einiges noch nicht stimmt. So z. Bsp beim Disto. Dies sollte im Zusammenhang mit dem neuen V3/vA2 Soundmodule vorgängig geklärt werden.

besten Dank für Deine Infos. Klaus hat mir verraten dass es im Januar 2018 ein "swiss pack" mit typischen Schweizer Instrumenten gibt. Bin ganz neugierieg darauf und versucht schon jetzt das V3 anzuschaffen. Leider ist es aber so, dass neue Packs oder Aenderungen daran nur im Werk vorgenommen werden können. Das heisst man muss das Gerät ins Werk senden oder selbst vorbeigehen um das Flash neu zu brennen. Etwas umständlich!

Auch ist mir nicht klar ob die am vA2 im Kanal eingestellten Effekte für Reverb und Delay (FX1 bis FX3) an das V3 gesendet und übernommen werden. Wie ist da Deine Erfahrung mit dem Testgerät?

ich habe auf der Homepage v3sound keine Beschreibung der Bedienelemente und Anschlüsse für das v3-Sonority gefunden. Könntest Du ein paar Fotos mit den Anschlussmöglichkeiten und den Bedienelementen hier ins Forum stellen? Nützlich wäre auch eine kurze Funktionsbeschreibung der Anschlüsse und Bedienelemente. Warum gibt es z. Bsp. vier Audio Ausgänge? Sind die beiden Regler für Volume und Reverb?

Wie weit bist Du mit der Abbildung der Instrumente in einem .ins File? Falls ein .ins File existiert, könntest Du uns das zur Verfügung stellen?

Du schreibst oben, dass man das v3 sonority mit Sounds der optionalen Soundpakete im Werk aufrüsten kann. Kann man die Instrumente der optionalen Soundpakete bis zur Speichergrenze beliebig auswählen? Ich interessiere mich insbesondere für ein par zusätzliche Akkordeonklänge, wie z.Bsp Schwyzer-Oergeli?

In der Implementationsliste habe ich gesehen dass die beiden DSP mittels Sysex-Befehlen angesteuert werden können. Allerdings sehe ich nirgends einen Befehl für die Einstellung der Reverb-, Hall-, Delay- , Chorus-Stärke. Es gibt nur einen Sysex zur Anwahl des Effekt Types. Damit sind wir in der ähnlichen Situation wie beim SD1000, denn diese Befehle müssten ja dann auch pro Titel mittels Maske definiert und im vA2 gespeichert werden können. Das heisst dass der vA2 angepasst werden muss. Wie steht Dan zu einer solchen Anpassung?

ja die Situation ist sehr unbefriedigend. Ich habe ja mal versucht ein paar Einstellungen für das SD1000 in meiner Applikation zu speichern. Aber es  sind verdammt viele Parameter und es wird reichlich kompliziert, wenn man keine Bedienungsanleitung und wenig Erfahrung hat. Vielleicht ein Grund warum sowohl das SD2 wie das SD1000 nicht vollständig im vA2 integriert sind! Ich verwende deshalb nur noch den vA2Synthesizer mit sf2-Soundfonts. Ausgerüstet mit vsti-Interfaces für FX1 bis FX3 erreicht man annähernd die Qualität der Ketron-Soundmodule.

Ich mag mir gar nicht vorstellen was mit dem Vorschlag andere Soundmodule wie das V3 zu integrieren passiert. Vermutlich wird es wie bei den Ketron Soundmodulen nie vollständig integriert werden. Ich hatte Dan mal den Vorschlag gemacht das Gwerder Soundmodul ( http://www.schwyzerorgeln.ch/x4.html ), mit seinen typischen Schweizer Akkordeons zu integrieren. Leider ohne Erfolg.

Theoretisch ist eine Integration per INS-File möglich, aber beim Erstellen der Songs doch eher mühsam und die Effekte des Soundmodules können innerhalb des vA2 gar nicht gesteuert werden. Ich spreche da aus Erfahrung weil ich für das oben erwähnte X4 Soundmodule ein komplettes iINS-File geschrieben und getestet habe. 

Für mich gibt es deshalb nur eine komplette integration des Soundmodules inkl. allen Effektmöglichkeiten oder ich lasse die Finger davon und verwende lieber Soundfonts wo ich beliebige vsti-Effekte einschleusen und auch pro Song speichern kann kann.

schön wäre es, wenn man die V3 Samples im .sf2 Format kaufen und dann mit dem Va2Synth abspielen könnte. Habe auch schon mal ein Anfrage an Turbo Reini in diese Richtung gemacht, aber leider wollen die diese Samples nicht im .sf2 Format auf dem Markt verkaufen. Begründung ist, dass kein genügender Kopierschutz vorliegt.  Dane hat dazu im vA2 ein eigenes Sampleformat .vsmpl, das dann nur mit dem vA2 abgespielt werden kann. Das wäre natürlich schon ein Schritt in Richtung Kopierschutz. Man müsste dies mit den beiden Entwicklern Dan (vA2) und Klaus (V3 Sound) besprechen.  Man müsste dazu die Entwickler von V3 Sound und Turbo Reini von den Vorzügen des vA2 überzeugen können. Eine Kooperation der beiden Produkte wäre für beide Lieferanten eine Win Win Situation. Die Turbo Sounds von Turbo Reini wurden übrigens gesampelt und in das V3 eingebracht. Von mir aus das Beste was es für Oberkrainer Stil gibt. Es gibt dazu auch eine App "Turbo Sound" die diese gsampelten Klänge direkt aus einem IPad ohne zusätzlichen Expander (V3 oder andere)  erzeugt. Wäre natürlich allzu schon wenn man diese Turbo Sounds nebst den anderen V3 Samples im vA2 nutzen könnte.

with the connected midi-devices voice live touch, keyboard, accordion,nankontrol2 and the software Xcontrol to the vArranger I got a complex midi-maping (see link and attachement). I'm using the software midiyoke and midi-ox to manage the connections, e.g. to split and merge some midi ports. Now i get often the message " not enough memory" on starting the system and some midi-connections will not run. I think I got into a loop problem. Can someone help me to check the mapping and answer the following questions about split and merge mid ports in midi-ox:

• Is it allowed to merge two ore more virtual ports to a hw-port (Merge to Voice Live Touch)
• Is it allowed to merge two ore more virtual ports to a virtual-port (merge to 2nd midi in
• Is it allowed to split two ore more virtual ports to a virtual-port and a hw port (split LED Feedback from vA2

Hello,
I would use a playlist with mp3 songs for background music during pauses of a gig. I've tried it with a new playlist in the vA2. I could load the mp3 song and store it in the playlist with "add song". With auto next song in the list menu the songs will play automatically in the order they are added. That is fine.

But it is a little bit unhandy to load every song and store them in the playlist. I could also not generate a random playlist. So I searched for a file with the name of the playlist in the vA2 directory, where I could add mor than one songe at once and could sort it random. I have not found such a file. Where are the informations about the songs in the songlist stored? Is there a possibility to edit the playlist with a external tool like a primitive editor?

seit einiger Zeit erscheint im MIDI PORTS SELECT Menu des vA2 die Rubrik AUDIO IN.



Ich kann aber die Einträge nicht permanent abspeichern. Nach einem Neustart ist immer ---NONE --- selektiert. Es scheint dass da keine Funktion hinterlegt ist. Weiss jemand was mit dieser Funktion erreicht werden soll?
Die meisten Arranger-Keyboards haben einen Mikrofon-Eingang und einen Vocalizer on Board. Leider fehlen beim VA2 beide Funktionen. Vielleicht ist ja in der AUDIO IN Sektion so etwas vorgesehen. Leider gibt es von Dan dazu keine verbindliche Aussage.  Schade...
Ich habe mir als Ersatz eine externe Lösung mit einem TC Helicon Voice Live Touch aufgebaut. Ich kann damit titelbezogen ein Vocalizer Preset anwählen. Die Synchronisation erfolgt mittels MIDI OUT2. Funktioniert gut, aber schöner wäre natürlich eine integrierte Lösung ohne zusätzliche Geräte und Verkabelungen. Können wir als vA2 Benutzer noch hoffen dass es eine integrierte Lösung gibt oder bleibt es ein Traum?

due to the missing vocalizer in vA2 I will use an external voice live touch vocalizer. The accords for synchronisation cames from the vA2 over midi out2. The voclizer is housed with the pc and other devices (radio controled midi, radio controled mic..) in a "XControlBox" of 300x200x120 mm and has a weight od 4 kilos. The XControl software select one of the the predefined presets in the vocalizer on loading the song and can be changed during playing with a footswitch. After ending the song the XControl software will send a dry on stop/talk command for speaking without effects.




I use the implemented soundfonts and the vASynth, so I will not use a soundmodule. The XControlBox has a midi input for a keyboard or midi accordion, a microfon input, power input and some usb inputs. He has a midi output, stereo output and display output. My song database is managed by the XcontolSoftware and allows to make the right setup for vA2 and the vocalizer with one cklick ore touch. For my gigs I have to take my keyboard the XControlBox, a Display (Or Laptop) and my bose L1 compact. That's all......  It is small enough to have place in a little smart car.

I'm using version v1.17.98 of vArranger with soundfonts installed in vArrangerData/sounds/samples. There I will see that it gives sounds from SD2, BK7, KORG and TYROS4. When is start vA2, in the sound list (right hands) I can see abbreviations SF-A, SF-B, SF-C and SF-D. Does someone know the accurate assignment of the instrument types to the abbreviations?

I've tested both the sd2 and sd1000. Unfortunatly not all controls of the sd1000 are implemented into the vA2. So you can't use the all possibilities of the sd1000. I have developped a supplementary software where I can set the relevant parameters for the sd1000 and sd2  for each song. (See attachement).  With that I could achieve a better sound for the sd1000 than the sd2. It is domage that the controls for the sd1000 and sd2 are not implemented completly and song specific in the vA2 until yet. For me this would be more important than implement other goodies like harmonies. The interfaces to the sd2 and sd1000 are not complet implemented until today in the vA2!

the vA2Synth use as default the tal-reverb-4. Unfortunately this vst has no predefined presets. The ketron sd2 for example, has predefined presets like room, studio, club, hall, theatre, stage, arena. Has  someone a idea how I must set the parameters in the tal-reverb-4 to achieve the presets from the sd2? The idea is, that we define the sd2 presets in the vA2 vst options with the corresponding parameters (see figure below). An other possibility is to share the parameters from the available user presets in a list in the online documentation-mediawiki. Someone interested? Please let me know.

Yes you are right the 64bits dll are in the directory:
C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins\MAGIX\Independence\VSTPlugins64

and the 32bits dll are in :
C:\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlugins\MAGIX\Independence\VSTPlugins32

Who now that ? But it is correct! 64bit programs are stored in "Program Files" and the 32bit programs in "Program Files (x86)".
Now independence works together with the vASynt64!

thank you for your information. I will not find in the free version a 64bit installation kit. So I think the vASynth64 will only work with  the Indépendence Pro who has a 64bit installation kit. Is that right? Did you get some improvement with the vASynth64 instead of the 32Bit Version? Why I should give out so lot of money? Please give me a reason why I should go to the vASynth64. If there is really an improvement I will decide to buy the Indépendence Pro for using with the vASynth64. Thank you very much, I'm awaiting inquisitive for your answer.

do you mean the volume offset. I tried this, but if I save the sf2 file the offset value seems not be stored. The storing will be o.k. E.g without errors. If I open the file again the offset is zero and not the value I gave before (16dB). What could be wrong?

I will use the vA2-vsmpl  and parallel sf2 soundfonts (LS soundfonts). But the loudness of the sf2 soundfont is higher than the va2-vsmpl. I've tried to reduce the volume of the sf2 soundfont with the viena soundfont editor. I have changed the volume offset but without success. The loudness was not changed. Could someone help me? Thank you.

thank you very much for your answers. One point you both have shown to me is, that I should use not the independence rack, rather I should use the vsti directly. Why?
Then I've learned, that a second reverb in the master section is not necessary.
I will try out your suggestions with the different proposed vsti's.

In the literature one speaks from psychoaccoustics in conjunction with the effects.  Here I think each person has different claims. What I would now from you, were global for all claims valid standards. But I see that this is not so easy, when not impossible. So I have to try and hope that the claims of my "clients" are the same as the mines.

I need help from you as experts in applying effects in vA2 for the vA2Synthesizer. Here are the questions for the different Effects:

FX1-Reverb
In one of the newer version from vA2 there is built in per default the TAL Reverb4. What is your experience with that vsti-reverb? Unfortunately this reverb has no predefined presets. I'm not so familiarly to choose the right parameters with the six knobs. Can anyone give me his positions of the knobs for the best results? What are the knob-positions for the presets as known in the original vA2 reverb list (off, room, studio... arena)?



FX2- Chorus-Delay-Distorsion
What are the vsti's you use for the FX2? I'm using the TAL Corus in the magix independence vsti rack. But also here I have not the presets as I have in the native vA2-chorus (chorus1 , chorus2 .... flanger). Is there an alternative, where I have such presets?

What's about vst's for delay and distortion?

FX3
Which are the right vsti's for this section?

Here I'm using a reverb vsti and a 3 band equalizer from magix independent in a rack and an hbasm steroizer pro. Which vsti's are you using here or what you recommend?

i have made a ins-file for a new sound module gwerder x4 and have the same problem. The text from the ins-window on top will not shown in the  track bar. If that will not work why I should use an ins-file? It confuses me that in the track bar the address [0-64-32] will be shown as in the ins-window, but the instrument name corresponds not. If that not work in the live mode I never know which instrument is selected. Have you any idea what could be wrong in the ins-file?

I have made now my own layout for the nanokontrol2 with the tool Microsoft-Visio. It is not so good designed as this from akyelken, but one can improve the layout. One can change the texts with the tool and then print out in A3 or in two A4 sheets. If you wish I can send you the visio data file, so you can make your own layout.

It looks very well, and is very practice. Unfortunately the layout is bigger than A4 and one have to enlarge the jpg and divide it on two A4 pages or print it on A3.  How we can I make the jpg 1:1 printable in the right scale (enlarge factor)?

I have modified a KETRON FS6 footswitch for using with usb. There is a USB-Interface named I-PAC2 from ultimarc https://www.ultimarc.com/ipac1.html for 58.- Euro. I have build it into the FS6 housing. (see picture below). It works fine. There should not be a problem to build a FS13 Footswitch, because the I-PAC2 has 32 digital inputs.

if one use the sd2 as midi out there is the possibility to change the bass boost , midi input and chord recognition parameters in the option menu/master. changes on this parameters could not be saved. If one will use another bass to adapte to the pa, this parameters must be set after every restart of the va2. That is not very handy. What are your expieriences and what do you think about that?

the parameters for the reverb FX1 will not be  stored with song save nor in the startup config. I've seen that the global reverb level will be stored in the varranger2.ini file, but not the reverb typ and also not the FX2 chorus, delay and distorse typ. Should this parameters not be saved as global parameters in the startup config or/and in the song save? After a restart of the va2 one must allways set this parameter  as wished. What is your expierience and your meaning?

yes I agree with you that the channel presets will be loaded with the last played song after the start of the vArranger. What I mean is that the master section should be saved as global preset and be loaded as before a restart of the vArranger. Furthermore the master section should be independent from the channel effects. So one can set the master section (for example the equalizer) for a whole gig.

yes I would also have the function to save the SD1000 effect processor settings with the song, but also as global preset, so that this preset will be loaded evertime the vA2 will be started.

Have you tried out the master section in the effect processor window? It seems that the functions for reverb, chorus and equalizer did not work. Didn't they?

What I'm missing is a description how to use the effects (manual?). And a nice goodie would be to have some working and proofed presets.

I've informed Dane a view days before but without any feedback.

yes you are right this independence FX is one of the best I ever used and heared. I' installed it for vA2 FX1(reverb), FX2(Chorus) and FX3(Delay) and the equalizer for the master. The sound with the livestyler soundfonts is now really better.

I've tried to use the independence.dll as vsti. The installation is o.k and I get the GUI and it seems to work in vA2. But I can not hear anything if I play with my keyboard. With the independence internal keyboard I can hear the instruments. I'm sure that the midi input is not correct configured. But I can't find the configuration menu in independence dll.

I'm impressed also of the manual with 250 pages in german!

Das Produkt Independence ist wirklich super. Ich hoffe ich bringe die vsti Lösung auch noch zum Laufen. Danke für die Unterstützung

Thank you for the answer. Yes perhaps I can find some specific better soundfonts for an instrument. But what I need is a set of all GM Midi Sounds in a good quality that sounds like on a keyboard or the ketron sd2. I'm a live keyboard player and a sound like from a ketron sd2 is a must for a gig. I can not make experiments during a gig, it must sound from the first to the last song like played from a keyboard. The Live Styler soundfont set is the only soundfont set with all GM Midi sounds that I know. Are there other complet GM Midi soundfont sets that I can use with the vArranger software synthesizer?

I ask this question because I can not achieve approximately the same quality of sound with the va2 synthesizer and live styler soundfonts  as with the sd2 sound module. The sound is flat, even when I use for FX1 a festival hall or arena. (PSP easy Verb).
Have you any idea how I can achieve a sound which is practically the same as with the ketron sd2.

I would control the vA2 over the controlers with karaoke information from a mp3 song. You know I can define with a mp3 editor the time dependent text that should be shown in the karaoke window.
For example.
[00:50.300]Show this Text[00:54.100]
will show in the karaoke window after 50 seconds for 4 seconds the text "Show this text".

What I want to do is now send only one character to the vArranger (not to the karaoke window). This character (number) will
activate the defined controler in vA2.

For example:  [00:50.300]6[00:51.100]
would send the number 6 to va2 controler and change the sound in the soundbar.
Have you any idea how to to that?

I'm using the TC-HELICON Harmonizer M for singing. For that I have set the left slider in VA2 to midi out2. This midi out2 controls the TCHM every time I change the accord. For me the song sounds awful in the automatic mode, really false......
I think that the reason is a wrong split point.

I play the VA2 in accordion mode. In this mode the left hand of my midi accordion sends the accords on a separate channel nr 3. Now I have a question? Where I should set the split point in the TCHM?

Is anyone in this forum playing a midi accordion with VA2? What is your suggestion?

In the manual chp 5.6.3 right full keyboard is written: In this mode, the chord recognition occurs over the entire keyboard.
Although this feature RIGHT FULL KEYBOARD mainly the right side of the keyboard has a particular effect with MIDI accordions in association with MANUAL BASS as follows:

What means the bullet points + exactly:
•   + Automatic low
•   + Automatic + manual accompaniments agreements
•   + Battery
•   + Melody
•   Battery + only

The first and the last configuration are the same aren't they?

As I seen the LEFT1 to 3 slidervolumes are changed proportional. The max value of the left masterslider (127) correspond to the max set left1 to left3. Well done

thank you for your hint. It was more easier!  If the left master-slider is to zero then the left tracks LEFT1 to LEFT3 will not show the signal, even they were here. A little strange this dependency, but if known no problem.  . It works now.

connected a midi accordion to vA2, that means right hand to channel1, Bass to channel2 and left (accords) to channel 3, I would play in manual mode the vA2 like an accordion.  The bass and right I can play without problems, but the left (accords) will not play. Has someone of you accordion player and others an idea what I have done wrong? Thank for any help.

With vA2 it is possible to control a vocalizer like TC HELICON harmony m with midi out2. By changing the accord  the vocalizer get the right information for harmonizing the song with the accord. 
A midi file has a vocalist track to harmonize the song in the vocalist. Is it possible to send the information from this vocalist track to midi out 2, for harmonizing the song with the midi file?

thank you for the answer. As I wrote you, I have a problem if I have no router and therefore no wlan for connect to the laptop with va2 run on it. I have now found a solution for that. I installed the software  connectify hotspot 2015  ( http://www.connectify.me/ ) on the laptop and on the android smartphone. The laptop provide  after installing the software, a hotspot and you can connect the smartphone with wifi directly to this hotspot. So the smartphone works perfectly as controler via this wlan-hotspot. I've arranged the layout of the "controler " slightly other than yours (See attachment). That is the opportunity , that you can tailoring your  layout as you wish. Perfect.
