Hi DAN,
I hope you can help
I set up vArranger2 as follows:
___MIDI OUT 1: I use " vArranger Software Synthesizer "
___MIDI IN 1: I use for " CHORD RECOGNITION ", I always use " full keyboard" and only use for this purpose... no melody notes.
___MIDI IN 2: I use to command " controllers "
___MIDI IN 3: here I hope DAN will guide me ...
I hope to play melody with the musical instruments in " vArranger Shoftware Synthesizer" maybe "soundfonts" .... I have been looking for the path for MIDI IN 3 for many days but can't... I hope DAN will help me.
Thank you.
On the occasion of DAN's visit, I hope DAN can help me with another issue:
Is there any setup in cakewalkt by bandlab and vArranger2 to be able to use the same audio interface? I use the M-audio 610 profires interface...I've been struggling for a long time and can't figure it out, I can't read the preferences panel of Cakewalkt...I hope you can help.
Thank you
If you want to play a melody with a different midi instrument than the MIDI IN 1, you should set it on MIDI IN 2 and not MIDI IN 3, and check PLAY NOTES of MIDI IN 2. You can use the MIDI IN 3 for midi controllers
Then the LEFT track will be reserved for this MIDI IN 2 melodies
Using same audio with 2 pro software is usually not possible, unless the audio interface driver has this possibility (multiclient)
@Phiet
Most current audio interfaces are multiclient. The M-Audio 610 is a somewhat older audio interface, the latest driver is designed for Windows 8. It's quite possible that the M-Audio 610 isn't multiclient. I don't remember if it is. Check how many ASIO drivers the M-Audio 610 provides, and if there are multiple, try to addressing different ASIO pairs for each application. It might work.
I apologize to you two DAN and agaton, I have been away from home for the past few days and it is not convenient to work on the computer.
I thank you both for your help.
About DAN's instructions, I will do it right away, there will definitely be something that needs DAN's help...
Hi agaton! Thank you, is there any word in the advertisement, in the product introduction that helps me know that an audio interface can meet multiple clients? Can you introduce me to some products with 3 types of prices from cheap to expensive? Now I am still using M-audio 610, because in my dream for vAranger2 from the beginning I still want to be able to control all 8 tracks of STYLES. But until now my level is still poor, so I do not dare to buy new and expensive things. I hope that one day everything will be clear.
Thank you both.
@Dan,
Thank you, I have reset Midi IN according to your instructions, and I can play melody with Midi IN 2 port as I dreamed.
Another question: can I bring into "SAMPLES" many soundfonts files? How does vAranger2 manage this soundfonts group?
Thanks DAN
@Dan On the occasion of your instructions, let me know:
How to control Left 2, Left 3, and the "RIGHT" track groups, how to control, where are all these presented?
I have been holding vAranger2 for 10 years and now I still ask this, please forgive me., all because I want to control vArr 2 with guitar, it occupies all my mind, until now I have achieved it, now is the stage to play musical instruments well.
Thank you

Thanks DAN, I will read it carefully.
I thought I had received an answer to my question that I asked last year.

Unfortunately, connecting the second keyboard to port 3 causes this input to be played as bass.
And it only plays when the accompaniment is off.
Here is my somewhat complicated solution:
The simple Java utility "Midi Connector" allows you to connect multiple MIDI inputs to the same MIDI output.
loopMIDI creates a virtual port that allows you to pass MIDI signals from the output of one program to the input of another program.
Unfortunately, I don't remember where I downloaded the Midi Connector from, so here is the link:

I just answered your post, but it seems you have found a solution...
Hi AGATON,
Thanks for your guidance, now I have abandoned the M-audio profires 610...it's too old...I bought another new one: Behringer UMC404HD it meets all my wishes...the driver runs well on Win 10...
Thank you.
Hi DAN,
on July 21st I was able to play the melody through MIDI IN 2 port into track "left"...according to your instructions. Please help me further:
___1 style I play in vArranger2 you named it "song" I made a lot of songs with a yamaha style....I want to save the "VOICE" of this melody "left" but I can't, I "SAVE" in "song", in "startup config." What should I do to be able to save the voice as I want. Do I have to use other programs? Please guide me.
Thank you.
SAVE RIGHT SOUND or SAVE LEFT SOUND can create new custom sound preset, that can be recalled on the RIGHT/LEFT track close to the master volume fader
When you SAVE SONG, you can check the box to recall the preset sound on LEFT and RIGHT track
