Title: USB plugs overused and faulty for midi devices
Post by: jan1kow on April 20, 2013, 10:33:09 PM
My Nanokontroller has been loosing its midi imput connection with vArranger every few minutes recently.
I think the USB plug was slightly loose or metal stretched with constant use over the last 2 years.
I slightly squeezed the USB plug to make the metal closer tighter fit into the laptop and it appears tio have helped.
Any one have similar problems with over used USB plugs on midi devices?

Try moving the cable, and see if this cause the connection to stop.

Read this : you can soldier the cable directly and remove the connector.

Perhaps if you are a member of that forum Dan, you could somehow grab the pics for us to look at? I really don't feel like joining a froum JUST to look at a couple of pics ;)

My Nano K and NanoP are fine but I might hard wire them anyway...seems like a fine idea to me.

Squeezing the metal USB plug (2 flat surfaces of rectangular USB plug) so it fits tighter seemed to work but will know for sure after a few more gigs
Thanks have kept copy posts in help forum http://forum.djtechtools.com/showthread.php?t=19398 for reference anyway.
