Dan
How do you make the midi interface cable connection to use the optional 2nd midi out to another external midi sound module/midi keyboard?
Is there a special midi cable for two midi outputs?
jon
Just plug another USB/midi interface, And select it on the midi ports
OK thats simple.
I am short of USB from my laptop will a 4 way port hub work and would the hub need to be powered.
Alternatavely I could share the hub with a 25 key keyboard controller (ie. Alesis QX25 when this new model is released at end of August) ?
jon
USB Hubs shares bandwidth and power between all plugged in USB, but should work.
If you can plug your Ketron SD2 (and you main MIDI instrument) on direct USB ports, it's more secure.
Just try it...
Hi !
I use a small EEPC with 2USBports !
- On the 1st USB port I plug my Midi/USB interface Cakewalk UMG-2: Midi In 1 (instrument) MidiOUT1 Ketron SD2 My Midi Port 2 is free.
- On the 2nd USB port I plug a HUB 4ports. My Korg NanoKey is plugged in it and 1 USBKey.
And all is good !

May be a product like this could be handy => http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MIDISPORT4x4.html (http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/MIDISPORT4x4.html)
I haven`t used it but came across this on the web.. Do consult with Dan first if something like this could be useful in your situation.
Warm Regards,
Jez
It would be good but I do not think it is needed for the more basic situations.
Thanks
