I just added to the next version (0.77) the search feature.
Just click on search zone, write some text, the list will show you immediatly the songs/styles.
Then press arrow down, and enter. your next song is loaded !
or press ESC to abort
Just look at the screenshots :)

Hi Dan,
Is it available for download yet
Lionel
Yes, the version 0.77 with the new search feature is now avaible.
Please contact update@varranger.fr to get the update.
Dan
Dan,
Could you add to search feature the ability to search either Songs or Styles.
I mean if your searching Styles you don't want to see all the songs cluttering the list, and same for songs you don't want to be confused as to what is the style and what is song.
Lionel
Hi Lionel,
To do that, maybe you add in the search box :
rock*.pat
or jackson*.mid
then you will get only styles, or midifiles....
Thanks to Lionel : on the next version (.78) : the search will not display the .pat2 files, nor the system hidden files.
Also, sometimes, the loaded file was not the good one.
Now corrected.
Dan
I Just added for the version 0.78 the SEARCH SONG feature on the CONTROLLER screen.
So you can assign a PC key or a midi key to the Search feature
And some other graphical small things.... you will see by yourself
Great Stuff Dan
Great Stuff. 8)

What do you think about displaying 4 lists while searching to organise the results..
- Styles
- Midifiles/Karaoke
- Audio/mp3/wma/wav..
- Lyrics/ scores and other stuffs
??
Hey !! more news !
While looking at how google did for their search zone
I just added thoses nice functions on the search feature :
When you press some letters on the search zone, the first item is now always selected, so you just have to press ENTER and the first song of the list is loaded :)
If you press the arrow down key, it will select the second item of the list, then press enter... and the second item is loaded :)
Often, the first item is the one we want, so we just have to press ENTER :)
Easy life with vArranger :)
Dan
Hi Dan,
About search feature, yes I reckon you should have the ability to search what you are looking for not just everything in folders, as that can get quite big later. Yes to search only midi or style or mp3/wav,etc
Maybe, radio button for each type or tick boxes, ideas?
