Hi Dan, it often happens that while I'm playing, some notes remain active even when the keys on my MIDI keyboard are released. I use a Bespeco BMUSB100 MIDI-USB interface to connect the keyboard to the PC and from the PC to the Ketron EVS (but this is a minor detail). I have to press "PANIC" to reset it, but it blocks style playback for a few cents, which is especially problematic when playing live. Isn't it possible to insert a button similar to "PANIC" that causes MIDI-IN RESET without interrupting playback?
Thanks. :D
Just buy a Roland UM-ONE MK2 and you will not have this problem of bad midi interfaces
Other models should be good too, but I didn't try every model
Or, something more comfortable CME U4MIDI WC – Hybrid 2-In/2-Out MIDI-Interface. It features functions such as a MIDI router, MIDI filter, and MIDI mapper, all of which are very, very useful. The same, but with 3 MIDI Ports is CME U6 MIDI Pro.
If someone wants to spend a lot on keyboard, computer, expander, interfaces, vA2 license, mixer, speakers..perhaps it would be better for them to buy an arranger directly. ???
Unfortunately some cheap Chinese USB midi interface models are known to be not reliable, loosing some midi events from time to time. (Especially the black round model with the musical note on it)
I have experience with Roland and EMU midi interfaces (not selling anymore). They are rock solid.
You can search for used models too, or try another cheap model in a store that you can send back if you have problems
