Title: My 2 latest gigs with vArranger
Post by: Dan on June 18, 2010, 05:11:58 PM
I had to gig far from home (1000km-600miles Paris /Marseille by train)

In the past, I had some very bad experience with my Ketron SD1. Coming back home very tired of carrying so much heavy keyboards.

So for this gigs, I took my lightweight Ketron SD2 + my HP TM2 laptop with touch screen and a lightweight USB Midi keyboard.

It was amazing !

For this gig we were 10 musicians, so I played most of the wedding without the arranger.

vArranger for sounds is amazing with the Ketron SD2.

I split the keyboard with 2 sounds for left hand/right hand, and select the sounds for the 2 parts on the fly. It is as I had 2 keyboards. (with 2 pedal sustain !)

You have to know that before to release a new version, I test it personally on my private gigs.

The next vArranger version will add the SAVE SOUND feature.

So I created some new oriental sounds for some songs.

They sound very good.

For 2 songs, I had to play with the arranger.

No problem, vArranger was here too.

Because I was ready before every one, I just had time to take a picture of my installation.

You too, feel free to share your vArranger experience to all of us :)

Dan

Hi Dan
Glad it went well.  What kind of keyboard are you using.  I am looking forward to the next revision with saving sounds.

I am using a not usual keyboard : 88 keys but not with hammer because of the weight. The feeling is better than bad synth keybed. I am happy with this keyboard, but not sure about how many gigs it will stay alive...

About the next revision, maybe we will add a new section for sound sharing between the user... we can do so good new sounds......

That would be good.  I know you mentioned that you had made some good sounds by combining tracks. That would be of great benefit if you have made it so all sounds can be saved.

My biggest problem in live work is not being able to use combinations because I can't recall them.

Hi Chaps,
I have been busy and not been around much, sorry.
I agree with Bernie as the biggest drawback is when loading a song, you have to reset that sounds you are chasing with the different instruments. Hopefully this is just around the corner.
