Title: 88 key controller/ digital piano
Post by: lakere on February 08, 2017, 10:50:25 PM
I am looking for an 88 key keyboard/controller to play and control vA2.  I think I saw Dan's video clips playing the Numa Compact.  I am looking at the Comact 2 version with built-in sounds and speakers.  The built-in sound would be handy just in case my PC crashes.    I wonders what 88 keyboards other use?

I was looking for a keyboard with low weight and no own sounds. I found of m-audio "keystation 88 mk2". What I particularly like is that I do not need a separate power supply, I use only one USB cable for MIDI and power supply, two more things I connect there: a sustain pedal and a volume pedal. For me with varranger a perfect solution. If I do not need varranger, I connect the Masterkeyboard directly with the SD 1000 via the DIN MIDI connection.

I think the case is heavier than the whole keyboard. ;D

Regards

Yes, I am aware of the Keystation 88 mk2.   Nice and cheap.  Using a module as a backup in case of the PC freeze is a good idea.  The Numa Campact 2 can be also usb powered, but it won't power the built-in speakers.
