Title: guitar
Post by: sweetbb on January 04, 2016, 03:20:04 PM
This might really be a stupid question, but I really don't know. Can I use a normal guitar for chord recognition, or does it have to be a midi guitar?

A midi guitar, or a software like http://www.jamorigin.com/products/midi-guitar/

that converts the audio guitar to midi notes

I am primarily a guitarist (in Cape Town area )and have used Roland GK midi pickups in the past, but the midiguitar software is great...I have bought it and I can play the auto accompaniment on my PSR keyboard very well with acoustic or electric guitar and Roland quad capture interface. I'm still doing my homework and deciding whether to sell my PSR s950 and invest in Va2 plus a decent Touchscreen laptop/tablet..hope our exchange rate improves soon...!
