hi everybody i have just been on the ketron it, site, they have just released update 1.1.i can't wait to see what difference this will make
Cool, they have released it.
Let me know...
I just installed the new SD1000 update.
They have corrected 3 things I have asked. VERY GOOD !
But, 2 new problems :
- SD1000 does not change well between drums sounds and normal voice. So don't install this update.
- Some strange polyphony cut problems.
Which 3 things they have corrected Dan ?
Corrected :
1) When using SD1000 with midi cable, not with USB, and the midi cable send ACTIVE SENSING message, like Roland keyboard or interface. This cause the SD1000 to react very strange.
2) Arabic scale + monophonic = out of tune
3) A new feature for vArranger, I have asked, to get better transition between chords. This will work for the next version of vArranger
Good News !
You can Update your SD1000 firmware.
The new version of vArranger NEED the new SD1000 Update.
Once the update done, you can ask me the new vArranger Beta 5 to test it.
This new version will improve the transition between chords... and more...
Dan
I have Updated SD1000 to Version 1.1, can You
send me Link to vArranger Beta 5 ?
Thanx
I have checked a new Beta 5 version of vArranger2 with
SD1000 version 1.1 and... transition between Style
chords is now much better as in version Beta 4, but
problem with Polyphony is stay. Long chords on Style
tracks will be broken, solo tracks (Right and Left) too.
How to reinstall version 1.0 ?
Thanx Dan !!!
I will ask again for the 5th time to Ketron about the Polyphony.
If you confirm it... maybe something has changed
Hi Dan,
It is very strange and curious with this polyphony cut.
For example Style "8BEATADRIA" from Yamaha PSR
710 play without polyphony cut problems, and the same
Style "8BEATADRIA" from Yamaha Tyros 5 has massive
polyphony cut problems. I have checked both Styles and
Style from Tyros 5 has much more voices (midi notes).
I don't know... !!!!! In attachment are both Styles. I have
modified somewhat both Styles (sounds), because I send
Styles and .prs2 Files.
Definitely I am now sure, that real cause for polyphony cutting in
Yamaha Styles on SD1000 ver.1.1, is only Percussion Style Track
I have checked Yamaha Styles so that I change Sound Engine for
Percussion Track to one VST (S-YXG2006LE) and all other Style
Tracks play, as usual, sounds from Ketron SD1000 v.1.1, or I
had simply mute Percussion Style Track !!!
I had no more polyphony cutting also with all of Right and Left sounds
played with many, many notes. You can be sure that you can find
reason for polyphony cutting in vArranger2, on Percussion Style Track.
I will report this to Ketron
I have Updated SD1000 to 1.1, would you like to send me the Beta 5 ? Thanks Dan
ok
I feel a bit confused now :-\
Could you please give updated situation Dan?
1) What`s with the drum/normal voices problem.
2) Is Polyphony problem is across the board, or only some Yamaha obscure stuff which uses "percussion track"?
3) Improved chord transition - does make a difference for a song chords chart - midi export too?
Thanks!
1) Corrected
2) SD1000 has polypohny problems when you use 2 drum tracks, like on Yamaha/Korg styles. (not with Ketron or Roland styles)
I still need to ask Ketron again to look at this bug
3) Yes
Oh, could you please send me the last Beta then?
Thanks in advance!
I have just installed the new SD1000 Firmware
http://www.ketron.it/en/software/176-sd1000/sd1000-1-4
Not sure what is new... maybe just sound corrections here and here
Hi Dan, you find out whats in the new sd1000 firmware. Don't want to update till
you find out if its working good or not. thanks
Hi,
installed new Software Version 1.4 and it works.
But only tested with some of my styles.
I found no information what is new in this software!
No probs with 1.4 software. All OK, play normaly
without polyphonic problem like by 1.1, or legato
problem when more Right sounds play mnophonic
with Portamento.
There is still the same problems
if you set sounds in Right 1 & Right 2
Set mono and portamento on the 2 tracks
Play notes the beginning and the end of the keyboard hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Hi Dan,
yes. I have also this problem.
I selected
RIGHT1 = Violin, Portamento ON and MONOPHONIC ON, Portamentotime = 64 and
RIGHT2 = Flute, Portamento ON and MONOPHONIC ON, Portamentotime = 64.
Then if i play the lowest C on my 5 Octave Keyboard, hold the key and then play the highest C the ton glides to a high frequency and then it chirps!
Sometimes it is also if i play a middle key!
Very strange. I will report it to Ketron and Dream!
vArranger is the best tool for testing a sound module :)
This is also on Dream card, or only SD1000?
There is also a polyphony problem somewhere when using 2 drum sets like on Yamaha styles (maybe related to the Portamento (CC84) I am using to slide notes when changing chords)
Hi,
my Dream Board is in the moment used by my master students for programming some GM sounds.
If this work is finished i can test the problem. But the SD1000 has a Dream SAM 3xxx DSP and my Board has a SAM 5716 DSP!
Why cannot Ketron FIX this problem...it has been a long time now.
Maybe they should give us all our money back??
