Title: Question on SampleTank and Varranger VST
Post by: 4partmusic on April 27, 2014, 11:21:15 PM
I have Sampletank working and purchased the Omnisynth pack to have GM sound set for ease.  I know I can use other packs or instruments but was just looking for a plug and play for picking instruments for songs.   My question is this; Is there a way to get the actual instrument names to show up in the Sound Channel Edit screen or is there an Instrument definition file that would make selecting instruments a little easier?

Thanks,

Terry

Just put a gm instrument file in the folder.

Any GM instrument file?  I would assume that any instrument, Roland, Yamaha or othewise would comply with the General Midi standard so I could use one of those correct?

Thanks,

Terry

Omnisynth is a soundbank with the patchs organized in the gm format.
Any Ins. file in gm format are ok, perhaps with some wrong details, the names are not exactly the same for exemple but the sounds are in the rigths places.
