Now I am experimenting with the sound edit channel (double click any channel)

This is not saveable yet?

Particularly the drum channels, can these changes be saved with songs?

I know it takes a lot of work, but saving the desired set up is the most important task, in my opinion.  Little by little, you are accomplishing that task.
