Hi,
I want to make a new computer for vArranger (mainly).
Which processor is better: Intel Core i5 8600K or AMD Ryzen7 2700x?

Thank You

zionip

Did you mean that you want to build your own desktop PC using Intel Core i5 8600K or AMD Ryzen7 2700x mainly for running vArranger?

You may have already read the following discussion thread talking about the comparison of the two CPUs:
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3705356/8600k-ryzen-2700x.html

Both CPUs are more than enough for running vArranger.  If you also play games on the PC, then the Intel i5 8600K is faster.

I think most of the vArranger users, including myself, use Windows touchscreen laptops / tablets for vArranger for portability and simplicity in operations.  You can definitely run vArranger on a desktop with a touchscreen monitor if you only use vArranger at home.  Besides the PC, you can also map essential vArranger buttons to external MIDI controller such as the Korg NanoKONTROL 2 for better button feels than the on screen buttons of vArranger on the touchscreen.

Thanks,
Paul

Thank you for your answer.
I meant whether vArranger can work in multithreaded mode.

Best regards

Dan probably has better idea on your multi-threaded mode question for vArranger.

Thanks,
Paul

The Intel seems better on this compare website : http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-8600K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-2700X/3941vs3958

I also prefer faster speed with 4 cores, than slower speed with 8 cores, as for realtime audio, we like faster speed
