Hello

How do I set Varranger so that I can play the melody on 1 keyboard, and the style on another?  Using an Axiom 61 for the melody side and a piano going through a midisport 4X4 for the which I want to use for the style.  I cant figure it out, and tried for ages!.  Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Kind regards

Jules

It is one amazing function of vArranger !!! When you define
two keyboards as midi ins and both to send midi notes, than
you play with left hand normaly chords, and right hand play
Presets of right sounds (Right 1 to 4 and 2nd Voice) on right
side of this first Key. On the second Key you will play Left sounds
(Left 1 to 3).
It is one of the very best function on vArranger2, because you
can play different Presets on two Keys, and you can separately
save and load Presets (of 5 sounds) for right side of first Key, and
also Presets (of 3 sounds) for second Key, absolutely independent.

Dan

Agaton, you have noticed this exclusive feature of vArranger :)

Jules, you need to go on OPTIONS / MIDI PORTS, and select your 2 keyboards on MIDI IN 1  and MIDI IN 2 list

Don't forget to check the PLAY NOTES box of MIDI IN 2

Then, the 2nd Keyboard will be playing the sounds of LEFT Tracks

You can select the sound with the LEFT track, close to the MASTER FADER

Or LEFT 1 2 3 tracks

Yes, I have noticed this exclusive feature, and I was so happy that
you think like one musician, not only like one computer programmer !!!
It is the best solution, to play vArrangeur2 on two keys, and I wont
anymore missing this solution. Amazing what of flexibility !!! I can
make now my systems with two keys. I shall upload some fotos with
my Trans Audio 2 Keys Instruments which are with vArrangeur2 like
a mean programm, and it play all of tracks with sounds from the best
VST instruments on the market, with Sample Content little bit more
than 100 GB of samples. All of that, without any break on Program and
Bank Change or any another Midi command. It play Styles, Midi and
audio files like hardware arrangeur. Conclusion is that vArranger2 is
the best, or better, only one, software arrangeur that make his thing
fabulous.

Dan

Yes ! I did this feature because I need it as a musician when plaing with 2 keyboards, and it miss on any other keyboard I have owned.
So much that sometimes I use vArranger only to change sounds on hardware synth :)

Thank you for your appreciation !

OK, great on the 2 keyboards! I will use 2 keyboards.
Now...I also want to play bass with a MIDI pedal board.
And maybe a MIDI keyswitch unit like a Yamaha MFC-10 or a Korg Mini control..IN ADDITION to the 2 keyboards & MIDI pedalboard for bass.

PLease tell me how all that will be possible.
(I am very good with MIDI in general)
OK?
Thanks,
Lee

Dan

Do you have an organ that sends the 2 manuals + bass pedal board in ONE midi output?

If yes, vArranger can manage to receive in its first MIDI port on 3 midi channels for KB1/KB2/BASS

Then the 2 other MIDI inputs are free for a controller

lee

Dan,
Actually that could be done using MIDI units with MIDI thru....
But I will have to see what I have.
Right now I only have 1 MIDI Keyboard, And a Roland PK-5 pedal board...But I want to build a MIDI organ basically. So I will add another MIDI keyboard.

How many total MIDI IN's are supported by vA2??
A little confusing to me in the manual.
Thanks,
Lee

Dan

For now, 3 midi inputs.
The first one can be used in ACCORDION or ORGAN mode, when you can select midi channels for Upper Lower and Bass
The second one can be used for the Lower
The Third one is only for midi controller like Korg Nano Kontrol... Maybe I will allow to play BASS pedal with this midi input, if needed.

lee

Dan,
OK...sounds like it could be worked out for what I want...
Thanks,
Lee

Hi,
i test my new diy masterkeyboard with va2. It is connected to midi in 1 in va2 and plays in organ mode well!

Now i want to play bass notes with my midi foot basspedal. i connected it to midi in 2 and activated "play notes". if i press a pedal, i can see in va2 midi monitor  the incomming note on/off message. but no sound!

i tested it with midi channel 5 for the pedal!

what is wrong?

Dan

I send you a new version where I have added " Play Notes " on the MIDI IN 3, to be able to play with a separate bass pedal

haweneu

Hi Dan,
many thanks.
I wish you and all va2 users a merry christmas and a happy new year!

Dan

Thank you !

And don't forget to set your bass pedal to midi channel 1

lakere

You mean Channel 3 for the bass pedal?    Dan, could I could also get this new version?   Thanks

haweneu

Hi,
your basspedal must send on midi channel 1 and then connect it to va2 midi input 3. select "play notes" and then it works!

If you have an sd1000 as soundmodul, your lowest pedal (most left) must send a midi tonenumber greater equal 36, because lower notes produce strange sound!

lakere

Thanks.  I always associated the bass pedal with midi channel 3.

Dan

If you use an organ that sends on 3 different channels, for the 3 elements, on the same midi out 1 yes.
If you use a different midi out for an independent midi bass pedalboard, then use midi channel 1
