#37
Thanks Dan for the information. The centre pin is positive and I have tried a different 12volt power supply and my SD2 is now working. I will now try to source an equivalent power supply with same specifications.
Many thanks .. Brian.
#38
Thanks Dan for your reply. Mine is exactly the same. Most power adaptors state the output polarity ie 12 volt pin positive or pin negative but I cannot find anything on this "Ketron" adaptor .... made in China !!. Looks like I will have to return to Thomann Germany.
#39
Hi everyone,
just today my SD2 when switched on doesn't power up. Can anyone tell me the power supply details.
As the unit is still under warranty I would firstly like to try a different power supply before sending back to Germany.

Will try to copy photos from the French manual.

 Hi Lionel,
just to add my thoughts on vArranger.
I purchased the program two months ago. During that time there have been tremendous improvements and for me works like a dream.

The versatily is amazing and customising sounds etc to suit my own needs is a pleasure to do. The choice of controlling is fantastic. I haven't made a final decision on that one yet, but today used a touch screen monitor for the first time .... works great !!

All in all a superb arranger to be highly recommended and great support from Dan is a huge bonus. I am a very happy user. :)  :)  :)  :)

My preference would be for font size to be one size smaller to accomodate three lines within the window.

The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: Another demo
August 28, 2010, 03:08:41 PM
Hi Bernie,

the  bottom keyboard is accompaniment  + right channel voices.
the top keyboard = left channel voices

To have accompaniment + organ highlight right channel [above fade and hold] and load organ sound or from my sounds.
For top keyboard highlight left channel alongside load voice or any voice from my sounds.

My sounds voices load to whichever keyboard you prefer. Highlight right channel to change bottom keyboard voices and highlight left channel for top keyboard voices. Very useful !!! Just came across that now.

My set up is USB midi interface cable to midi in on SD2
Bottom keyboard USB cable to computer
Midi out from top keyboard to midi in on bottom keyboard

You will enjoy experimenting with different settings using this feature and everything can be saved  :)  :)  :)
Hope this helps ... Brian.

for me this is one of the best features of the program and easy to use.
Will probably use two keyboards most of the time.

You're right Dan it is a joy to use,  :)  :)  :)

The second keyboard I'm using is an old Roland EP-7E digital piano!!. It's much more touch sensitive than the M-Audio stage piano that I use as main keyboard.

Will try a video later.

The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: Are u Still ?
August 18, 2010, 11:41:55 PM
Hi Bernie,

yes I wouldn't use this approach for a karaoke file if lyrics were needed, but find that playing along with a midifile using vArranger2 is much more versatile when played as an mp3. Left and right hand voices are easily assigned and is very useful when playing a song where the tempo varies or changes and a suitable style couldn't be found.

This is a personal choice and another great feature of the program that I've come across.

The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: Are u Still ?
August 18, 2010, 02:32:27 PM
Hi Lionel and Bernie,

good to see the forum active now that Dan is back after a well deserved break !!

I find the discussion on midifiles interesting and saving transpose mute etc. is fine when using vArranger as a stand alone midifile player.

I use a different method to play both left and right instruments along with a midifile and have full control of the program.

Edit midifile either in vArranger or other editing program and record and save as named mp3.

Load named mp3 in vArranger and choose left and right instruments.

Adjust volumes and play .... Song=mp3 volume .....works perfect for me.

Let me know your thoughts on this ........ finally thanks Dan for an exceptional program.

Brian.

The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: Demo video
August 01, 2010, 10:21:41 AM
Hi Lionel,

nowadays I only play at home for pleasure as I am an oldie myself. I will be 67 next month.

I didn't pay much heed to the slight glitches ... I had put that down to using a hammer action keyboard !!

I am slowly finding my way with the program now and am very impressed with what it can do.

It would be good if a user manual could be produced by some of the experienced users as was suggested some time ago in the forum.

The only item in a wish list for me would be right hand harmony.

Brian
