I have been with Dan from the beginning, and have always known him to be honest and provide more the money than anyone else.  I agree that patience should be shone.
#2
Thanks Attila,
I ask because I have a Pa4x,Audya 76,and Yamaha SX900. I have had vA2 for a number of years, but had to drag along my SD2. When I saw you used vArranger with an arranger, I couldn't understand how. I want to get back into it, but without exterior modules. Years ago, I tried Dan's soft synth, but found it so so.
#3
All simply awesome. Thanks for sharing. Sorry, how do you use Arranger keyboards, plus vA2?

In over 25 yrs of owning most arrangers, I can't help but thing Dan has dug a hole for himself in one respect. He has always been very helpful and willing to entertain improvement requests, many of which implemented.  However, there comes a point when vArranger has become, basically, a mature program and still some are bent out of shape because a particular specific improvement request hasn't been readily addressed.  If you multiply that by many, each requiring thought about compatibility and time involved in programming, you can see how impossible it would be for one man-for free even.
How much personal attention have you ever received from the big boys, with their R&D departments.  I may have received minor bug fixes, or even a few meaningful upgrades, but have spent thousands of dollars on the latest models too.

Let's give Dan a little credit for being open, honest, and willing to accommodate, but to expect the world for free is unrealistic.

My opinion may not be popular with some, but I have been with Dan since almost day one.  I have seen an amazing transition from a good program to the best, and all of this has not cost me an additional dime. The idea of compensating and encouraging Dan has been brought up in the past.  It is a sticky wicket because some have just come on board, while others, like myself have been receiving the benefits of thousands of hours of programming.

Whatever method is used, I believe it is only fair to pay something for Dan's time and expertise.  It is not like the present program isn't was the price of admission, even without future enhancements.

Just my opinion.

That sounds promising, though we have to get the lead sounds first.  I have to admit that I have not looked into what Dan has to offer, but I will.
Thanks all

I felt the same way, and I have continued like you, but Dan has made countless improvements since the old days.  My friend is eager to get into it, but balking a bit about the additional cost of a module. The problem is that he is a seasoned old musician like myself that know good sounds, but doesn't know his way around software very well.  I know hardware is simple and reliable, but maybe he can learn other approaches with spending several hundred more on a module.

Thanks for the reply
#10
Thank you for the reply.  How does one assemble the SF2 library, and does it show the instruments like an SD2?  I guess I am old school in that I thought Dan had to map the instruments so they would show properly in the GUI.  I am sure you are correct, but the lack of knowledge on my part leads me to think it is not as simple as a module.  My friend, for example, is looking at an Ebay offering of 500 SF2 Ketron SD1000 sounds for $38.  One problem is no effects whatsoever.  What is your thought on something like this?
I appreciate your help.

I am recommending this program to a fellow musician that is new to soft synth programs.  I have had vArranger many years, but have been away for awhile.  The last I knew, SD2, SD4, SD1000 had been mapped.  There is also a softsynth available in the program.  My question is if there is anything else he could use without mapping SFs and VSTs, which is beyond his expertise.  I have always used my trusty SD2, but he doesn't have one.

Good news  Thanks Dan
#13
I have had both vArranger and BIAB for years, but got sidetracked playing arranger keyboards.  I am getting to the point that I want to lighten my load, and go computer music.  This means I will have to try and catch up with both programs.

I bought BIAB 2018 UltraPak Plus and updated my V2 to 1.19.  I also added the BIAB plug in, that is brand new, to Notate Composer3.  This allows me to either compose my own songs with BIAB styles, or import backing tracks from BIAB and have composer notate it as a lead sheet. I say all this because I am determined to make use of both, if only in a basic way.  I am a decent musician, but a poor techie.  The only thing I can think of is to utilize the V2 instruments and play arrangements from BIAB with the printed lead sheets from Composer3.  Composer has great scrolling notation, but with one GUI, I can't very well see both.

Obviously, the main advantage is making use of Dan's many features by itself in addition.  It seems like a win, win situation.  Maybe it won't work, but worth a try until something bett(as described above) comes along.
Bernie

That was fast. Thank you.

I downloaded new version to my encrypted flash drive and it works fine, but I am not sure how to bring in my old songs, as it is a blank slate.  I want the new version with my old songs.

Not on this netbook, because I used my SD2.  I used it on the other one, and found the SD2 to be better even though I didn't want to carry extra baggage. I am starting new again with the basics until I can learn VSTi's, or buy another sound set. I figured the SD2 would allow be to use a small netbook.  Maybe I should use a better tablet.

Thanks for replying, Dan, after all this time.

I am returning to VA2 with my ID mem stick loaded with the latest version.  It fired right up with my big laptop that I used to run vArranger in. I am trying to get a smaller package, and tried it in a 10 in Asus and it kept loading for a half hour, but never did.  What does this mean?  Does it take a long time to load the first time?

I have the Asus Transformer working now. My license stick has errors, according to Win 10, and the USB will not stay connected.  This causes an error message" No Disk in Drive D".  I copied all of my data out of it, and have it in a folder in the pc.  I plug in my license, but execute from pc so my data will picked up. After vA is booted, I take the stick out.

Is this OK, or is there a better way?

I am trying to get started with my new tablet and keep getting "No Disk in Drive D".  Then, I can't get rid of it.  First I tried vArranger synth, which I installed first.  I then set program with Mio interface as Midi in and out and vArranger.  It said "loading" for ten minutes until I shut it down.  Next, I hooked up the SD2 with my Axiom61 and Asus Transformer.  The program works but I am getting nothing from the controller(ch1 full kb).

I will chip away at the problems if I knew where to start.  All connections seem good.  Midi in to kb midi out, midi out to SD2 midi in, usb to tablet.

Thank you both.  It turned out to be an interface connection problem, not a config problem.  All is well as long as I use the SD2.  It sounds fine, but I don't trust the connections are going to work on a gig. I know most everyone have no problems, and I usually haven't either.  The trouble is it only takes one time for a show to go down the toilet, and it is no reflection on the rock solid program.

I will just bide my time until a suitable internal engine is ready.

Quote from: Dan on November 18, 2015, 10:42:58 PM
It should be
- Interface midi out -> SD4 midi in
- Midi keyboard midi out -> Interface midi in
I meant to say that if I didn't.  The config is automatically naming interface out and in with SD4 in the Midi in box.

The vArranger² Software Forum / No Sound From SD@ or SD4
November 18, 2015, 10:38:40 PM
I have tried everything I know to get a sound.  I have reduced everything to it's simplest configuration, namely:
Interface midi in to module;  Midi out to controller keyboard(ch1); USB to PC.

The midi traffic lights are both lighting(in and out) when I press the keys, and the vArranger program is working.  However, even though midi data seems to be going to the either module, the midi activity lights on the modules are dark.

My configuration is:  MIDI out-INTERFACE
                                 MIDI IN  -same
SD2 or SD4 shows in the box.

I have tried two working interfaces.
The vArranger Synth works for instruments, but sounds like a broken calliope when I try to use a style.
#30
Hi Deane

My best sounding board, overall, is my Audya 76. but, like your Tyros4, is heavy to bring to a small NH gig.  Sound wise, I am thinking the SD1000 is incrementally better the the SD2, but, in my case, I want to be able to travel with just a tablet, controllerKB, and an interface.  I am going to wait to see what Dan does.
#31
Hiya Deane

I thought Agaton was coming up with a new engine, but haven't heard much lately.  You and I are in the same boat, as we need to get in and out with the least gear and best sound.  We both have had about every keyboard out there, but the vArranger still beckons.

We will have to see what Dan says.

ps
I hope you are feeling better.

I am trying to use the above, and while the sounds are okay, when I try a style. the sound is like a crazy calliope.  I am trying to get the best possible sound without carrying extra hardware.
#33
Thanks Dan.  If there is even a slight question of stability, it isn't worth the risk at a gig, but will tinker with it at home as you suggested.

I had read the manual and it said the transpose would change the right, left, and bass in the keyboard mode.  It didn't say individually, so I guess it doesn't.

I want the best five band instruments for my band and don't need all the features of vA2, taking just my SD4 and Novation MK11.  Maybe I will have to rig up vA2, zone my Novation, or find a better sound source.

Any suggestions ?

Great, but no score display.

I read the original thread regarding this but no luck.

Software installed and confirmed.  My chain is:

When I load the midiKaraoke file, the lyrics or Karaoke works fine, but no sign of the PDF.

#53
Yes-Great. It is a great help.

It took awhile but you finally got through to me.  You kids are way ahead of me in technical aspects, but playing, well I don't know.

One other thing-For now SD4 or SD2 is fine, but this Novation has such capability I wonder if I should install Automap for anything in the future, but I don't want to disturb vAR.  I have Kontakt, a huge Quantum Leap library, and a Muse Receptor.  I was thinking of sounds for the band I lead.

I have big ideas and no technical knowledge to implement them, but it is fun trying.
#54
I probably could if I knew how.  The My Right Sounds have been programmed and they work fine with the assigned button on the Novation lighted up in red.  I really don't know what else it is supposed to do,
#55
I don't think so.
#56
Working fine, now I can set all controls.
#57
No, when you said I can use Midi cables(Uno) to run the SD4 since it was not working on USB.  I got out the Uno again and connected that way,  This meant I had to use an AC adaptor and unplugged the USB from Novation.  I don't even know what LED Feedback is, but I see nothing on the Novation.  Of coarse, I haven't programmed it yet.
#58
Thank you for your help.  It isn't a streamlined USB set up, but the Novation is great to play on.
#59
I found the controller 79 and cleared it.  It was assigned to Leslie Slow and Fast. The G4 in back to Note on/off.
Should I assign controllers now ?
#60
Midi in=Novation ( no feedback for Midi in 1)
Midi In 2 =Novation with LED Feedback chosen(Novation)
Midi Out=Uno (Ketron SD4)

There have been no controls assigned to Novation yet. Untouched
#61
Do you mean SL MKII or Midi in 2(SL MKII) in the LED box ?
#62
I will recheck for 79, in the meantime I added Midi out 2=Midi out 2(SL MKII)  Ketron SD4(right box) saw no reference to LED Feedback.
#63
Midi Monitor upon pressing G4 key:
(1) Midi Port-SL MKII, Note on, Chan 1, Ctrl 79, Value 35
(2) "        "         "        Note Off   "   "        "          Value 8

Don't see it in controls

In regard to ports. I was just trying to get SD4 working, so changed to:
Midi In-SLMKII (Uno did not work)
Midi out-USB Uno (Ketron SD4) Audio-Directsound

Midi and power cables to SD4 and Novation.

I did not install Automap as I wanted vArranger controls.

No-LED feedback not on.

If there is something other than SD4 I should use, I will.
#64
I went back to power chords and MAudio Uno and it works except one thing.  One reason why I replaced the Axiom was because the G4 note was not sounding.  The SL MKII has the same problem.  The midi activity light on top of the vArranger screen blinks, but no response from right track lights.
#65
I have tried ever thing I can think of-no Midi to SD4-atleast it is not lighting my powered hub and the Midi light isn't flashing, and no sound at all.

USB from SD4 to hub-keyboard mode(nas)
USB from Novation to hub-OK
L&R cables from SD4 to mixer
Hub to pc USB port
PC sound to speakers-no other choice like midi device.  SD4 is supposed to be class compliant, and no driver needed, but I don't see it recognized anywhere.

PORTS
Midi In 1-SL MKII
"  '        2 "    "
Midi Out 1 -None ?
Midi Out 2-SL MKII

#66
The Novation works fine but the SD4 is not getting even though everything normal on the screen.  It worked before with Midi, but not USB.

St up as instructed except LED is now play notes
#67
Great, no dangling wires.  I think I am set, thanks to Dan and the forum members.  I will report back.
#68
I am using an M-Audio Uno as an interface, and SD4 with Surface Pro 2.  Since the ports have been showing the Uno instead of the Axiom, does this change the process ?

My keyboard will be delivered this afternoon so I can't tell what the port configuration will read.
#69
I am replacing my old Axiom with a Novation 61 SL MK11.  I need to know what steps I need to take besides remapping the controller file in vArranger to the Novation.

For example: I have saved songs as "ALL" , which I think includes controller information.  Do I have to remap and resave these songs ?

Anything else ?
#70
Thank you Dan
#71
High Performance mode made no difference.  It is big and heavy anyway and can't waste my time with it.
#72
Thanks Dan, I will try that.

I have never had the program on this laptop I can remember.  I have turned off and on several times, used different ports, plugged and unplugged connections, etc.

I have other options, but thought it strange that my best laptop can't load this.
#73
Except this is the original pen drive and data folder registered with Dan.  I know of no other default, or am I not understanding you?

Thank you for your reply.
#74
I run vArranger on several machines without a problem.  I initiate with pen drive containing license, with data and latest version.  For example, I have MAudio Uno connecting the SD2 and Controller kb with Midi and USB to laptop(Asus i7), with pendrive containing license and vArranger in another USB slot.

It can't be the configuration as it hasn't changed.  Only difference is the laptop.  I start application from pendrive as usual, but it says loading, but never does.  The wheel just keeps on going until I finally close it.

Any ideas ?

I am new to VST's also and can understand the GM sound set for styles, but what about the lead sounds, etc as compared to an SD2?
#78
Thank you for your response.  That would get me the sound.  I need two GUI, one for VA and one for Composer to read the scrolling lead sheet.  I guess I would need two tablets running at the same time.  Can I run two instances of VA with one dongle ?  I guess I could start one, reinsert the pen drive to the other and initiate it.
#79
Sometimes I use Composer(formerly MidiNotate) for song specific SMF in which I have to read the chords and melody line.  I use a Surface Pro2 to read the Composer generated lead sheet and sound from an installed SF GM sound set.  One of my kbds plays left and right hand melody.

Since the new softsynth may allow me not to carry a module, I am trying to find the easiest way to use VA2 and Composer.  The obvious problem is that I need two GUIs.  I do have other tablets and iPad, and laptops to use if necessary. The other is whether I can use VA softsynth sound on both.

The advantages would be light weight, superior sound, and VA2 allows me to set up 10 sounds for each hand right in front of me.

Or-maybe it is a bad idea.
#80
Good points Bachus

Dan has done an amazing job in a relatively short period of time. It seems only a short time ago he was posting on SZ to see if there would be any interest in this software.  The manual, of coarse, was in French and people helped Dan with it including an English version.

I know a trial version was tried and retracted.  Presumably, due to piracy factors.  I certainly agree that the price is very well in line considering lifetime updates from a music software expert.  I consider vArranger to be far better than the others I have had, and it gets better all the time.

Bernie
#81
For what it's worth, I have used vArranger on everything from a desktop with 22" screen to a 10" tablet.  I find the 10" a bit small, but my 12" Surface Pro 2 running 8.1 is fine for me on gigs.  From my perspective, a tablet allows me to easily transort it and qickly set it up in a way to be easily seen by me but does not obscure my eye contact with the audience.

There is always a downside, and that is accurate fast selection of tracks etc, on the fly, with it's touch screen. My songs are configured in advance so that I need to change very little directly on the screen.  I use an Axiom controller with all navigation and values on the switches and sliders.  When I do need something changed, I select it by touch or my wireless mouse.

Everyone has different priorities and ways of playing, so, they all work fine as far as operation is concerned.

On my version, I found that to the right of "MY SOUNDS" is " Right" and toggles to " Right and Left", giving you 20 right or 10 each L+R.  I presume this what you mean.  Very nice.

I am wondering, also, whether to re-organize my "SONGS". In the beginning, I made a mistake and named each bank the title of my song, instead of a genre or style category.  This,of course, means that each bank has only one style. I don't know how many banks one can use, but it is getting a little awkward scrolling horizontally.

This was done before any English manual was available, and now see it is wrong.

I have done a simple set up of SurfacePro2, SD2, Anker 4 powered hub, and MAudio Uno interface. The controller is an Axiom 1, with the controllers set up from before, and ipad touch for lyrics and lead sheets.

As always, I love:
1. the rock solid dependability
2. great choice of good sounding instruments for both hands(even from SD2).
3. Live sounding styles.
Lacking for me:
I have many Notation Composer files that scrolls lead sheets from SMF with played parts muted, and adjusted to an appropriate key.  Solution: Acer Iconiatab that formerly played vArranger, and melody and LH played from vArranger with 2 special songs loaded with instruments.

I have, at least, resumed my journey with vArranger with hopes of investigating the following once I get reacquainted:
1.VSTi's that is new to me in spite of the fact I have a Muse Receptor 2 with B42, Kontact2, Bandstand , and the full Colossus Quantum Leap library and license. I have Haliosonic2 on the Surface Pro also.

The only reason I mention my expensive experiments of the past, is to see what I may salvage in the future, and ask if I will need a better controller when I get deeper into this.

I have been so busy playing gigs that I have fallen behind in the knowledge of improvements.  I bought a SP2 and would like to use vArranger with my old MAudio controller or Behringer UMA25s and/or other keyboards I own like Yamaha S910 and Technics KN7000.

I have been running my Surface Pro into a Presonus Audiobox USB and a powered hub. It would be better perhaps to buy a Korg Nano for controls, but I don't know.

As far as sound source is concerned, I have an SD2 and SD4, but wonder if VST isn't the way to go, if I can figure it out.

Sorry for the vague post,as there are many ways of configuring, but I have to start somewhere in getting back up to speed.
Thanks,
Bernie

I had the Roland G70, which was the top of the line model before the E80.  The street price was more like $4000. If they were asking $8000, I see why they still have this.  The used price is around $1000 depending on condition.

I can see the store not giving a manufacturer warranty, but they should give you a 14 day in store option of a return if there is a problem, even at a 15% restocking fee.

The E-80, in it's day was a full featured board but be aware it is bulky and heavy(50 lbs).  It might be alright if you want a studio arranger keyboard with all the bells and whistles.  It would not be a good choice for vArranger.

Watch out

I just learned something new also.  I have had similar problems in years past, and thought it was the hub to blame.

I do recall Dan having a few issues with the SD1000, but it is new and bound to have a few bugs at first.  On the other hand, if price is no issue, the SD1000 must be a great piece of gear.

The only other one to consider is the SD4, which has USB and two midi ports so you can run vArranger and or play instruments direct from the module.  I also have this one.

Hi Eric

I am the same age as you and have tried several, but come back to my trusty SD2, There are probably other opinions, but the program was built on this module.

Dan

I am surprised you remember that with all that you are doing.  Yes, that help on the vocal end, but sometimes I play over midifiles with muted parts.  Notation Composer scrolls the lead sheet for me.

I have pretty well decided that mixing vArranger and another outside midi program is just asking for trouble.  The SD4 didn't know which to play, and it was a real cacaphony of garbled sound.

Thanks for replying.

I want to  be able to use vArranger in the normal way with my SD4, then alternate and use my notation program to play over midi files.

1. I am now playing midi files from my pc and left and right parts from controller using voices from SD4 connected to M2(voice) in. This is fine. I can read the lead sheet from Composer with SD4 sounds.

2. If I switch and run vArranger from the same pc, I can mix in style songs I have, but how do I redirect my Axiom to instantly run vArranger although I would have it connected to M1(Midi) port ?

3.  It is no problem using one of my arrangers, but I wanted something light with quality sounds for small gigs.
#102
Now, what other software developer is going to give such a detailed and accurate reply other that Dan.  Those who have any doubt about support, shouldn't have,
#103
I am trying to use the above, but forgot what ports and Midi in or out routing. Thanks
#104
Thanks Deane
I was hoping you would weigh in.
#105
Can't wait, even though I know the project must be very complex and in it's infancy.
#106
Good thoughts.

One last question is will the controller requirements change with your "Sounds Project"? In other words, will more complex cc mapping be required for VSTi's for example ?
#107
Thanks

I have read that some are easier to set up with a DAW than others.  In my case we are talking about "Midi Learn" with vArranger as my main application, and this wouldn't apply. Right?
#108
The best 61 key in terms of keybed and number of controllers. Roland Pro, MAudio etc.

I have found the same to be true.

My Axiom(1st generation) is starting to lose some slider assignments sometimes and I can't trust it.  I am using an old Dell 14 inch for the program, but have on Asus i7 15 inch, as well as 10 in Acer WD pad.

When Dan's sound project arrives, I know my Asus will handle anything, even though it is a bit bulky.  The controller is my main concern.  I would like some combinations others have and their opinion.

I mean that if I play CGE, the bass is alright.  If I play GCE it is not.  The same with all inversions, the root has to be on the bottom when all triads are played with three fingers.

If it is not something in your program that I can change, it must be something else.  I will keep investigating.

It is only when I use inversions.  Root on the bottom is ok.

I have noticed some of my chords are sounding off key.  Take a C chord and play C alone it sounds fine, but when I play the rest of the chord, the bass is off in the rythm. For example, take a simple 4/4 with a 1+5 bass.  The fifth does not play with a full fingered chord.  I thought maybe it was on one finger mode but I can't find an option.

Since I had to ask Dan for a new license, I found that my controller config is missing.  It is no problem assigning controllers again, but I am not getting a split on my keyboard.  I seem to remember that default is chan 1 accross the keyboard, and no split configured on the Axiom, but it has been a long time since I first set it up.

I am getting right hand from C1-C6, no left.  Any ideas

I sent the info on new drive.  Did you get it?

Thanks, Dan is on it.

The problem is that the pen drive was not even recognized by three of my computers, so your solution, however good, will not help me i'm afraid.
#126
It is like a dongle, and has to be present to open program.  As far as I know, there is no work around.  Thanks anyway.
#127
Dan

I suspect that my pen drive containing my license is no good.  I tried to use it on two pc's and all I get is a black screen and "Loading....".  It finally says this is a trial version for 4 minutes.  I cannot get any computer to even recognize it.

I wonder if VB3 can be integrated in the set up.  It is highly regarded in B3 circles.
#134
One thing is for sure.  Dan cannot be expected to keep pouring in countless hours of R&D without compensation.  If he can't  come up with an alternative that will increase his sales volume, then, I agree with Dennis.  Major innovations should come with a fee.

I have tried all the others too, but insist on the best, which is vArranger by a mile.  Dan's ceaseless improvements have already justified the cost IMHO, but I am savvy enough to know that when Dan wins, we all win, and I want him to keep going.
#135
I bought vArranger at it's inception because I had an SD2 and this was a way to unlock all of the great sounds.  I must admit I thought the price a little steep, but took a leap of faith. There is no question that it has turned out to be a bargain, considering Dan;s many improvements, including less dependence on the SD2. The free upgrades, for me, is very valuable only because of Dan's quest for an ever better product.

As far as new sales is concerned, vArranger and Dan have become respected in the Synthzone community at least, and I am sure in other places also.  However, I am sure there are factors limiting wider acceptance.

1. Not everyone is going to plunk down $ 450 for software with no trial demo because they don't know what we know.

2. The price approaches the cost of a  mid level keyboard if you have to buy a controller and SD2(optional).

3. Another problem is what to do with present owners if enough R&D has been recouped to lower the price, or Dan will take a loss hoping to make it up with volume.  Maybe charging for uprades, as long as we are grandfathered in, but this is rather messy.

I think a demo and further development like a midi player that saves muted tracks and key is the answer.
#136
Dan

It does not involve the keyboard in any way.
#137
I am glad to hear that because it is the only reason I use other means to sing over midifiles.  Maybe next time.
#138
Thanks Dan

If it was  a simple task, I know you would have done it. Thank you for your consideration.

Bernie
#139
Like Dennis said, it is brilliant.

Can you save a muted track and transposition in a midifile yet ?
#140
Hi Steve

Since you are looking for arranger functions to compliment your Motif, a 4K Tyros 4 is an extreme overkill in my opinion.  The new Yammy S950 is closer, but you are limited to Yamaha sounds in that keyboard.

I have an Audya and KN7000 as main boards, as well as vArranger, and I can tell you vArranger can perform all of the essential arranger functions as well.  The bonus is that you can play Ketron, Yamaha, and Roland styles at a fraction of the cost, with vArranger and an SD2 or 4. Some members have used vst's, but you have to deal with latency and config.

The other reason is that you already know controllers and the obvious advantages and disadvantages over an all in one keyboard.  vArranger is open ended, on the other hand, as Dan is constantly adding new functions.

I vote for vArranger and SD2.

Yes, I understand that these are presets involving up to three instruments, as opposed to single instruments in other banks.  I think I will just enjoy the SD4 as it is.

Thanks

I didn't mean to burden you, mate.

I just wanted different left/right combinations instantly available for quick change like registrations.  It is more important I can get to other lead instruments like Liscio sax,e.g.

I am probably trying to get too much from a module.

Thanks

Hi Lionel

Yes, or anywhere else for that manner.

I realize that it is meant to save any modified presets, and in thinking about it, it is not terribly important to save left hand voices.  It is more important to access other banks of instruments.  I don' know much about CC messages.

The good thing about vArranger is that Dan has done all the work and makes it so easy.  As I said earlier, the only time I can't use vArranger is when I am using MidiNotate Composer to stream SMF lead sheets, unless I brought two laptops.

Hi Lionel

There are patch tables for program changes in the manual.  Maybe I can store a few as presets in my Axiom, although it may be just as fast to initiate a program change.  I love a challenge, but I am not up to par with you guys as far as midi controllers is conscerned.

Along with my playing schedule, I will stay busy; that's for sure.
