Yes, the simple oh maybe not updated or something switched comment.  :o

Yes it's very annoying. I switched Kaspersky to download and Defender picks it up as virus, disable that install,
Re-enable defender and kaspersky they pick it up straight away and quarantine it.

This makes it nearly unusable the way it is.
A bit annoyed that we have to contact kaspersky, etc to tell em it's legitimate.

Yes for commenters, it is fully up to date system, and yes virus definitions up to date.

The current setup needs to change. >:(

#3
Hi Dan,

Having downloaded the latest version 1.19 Kaspersky refused to download it.

This is not the 1st time an update has had a warning.

In this day and age this is not the solution of disabling antivirus to download an update based on its ok faith.

i would expect as you the programmer needs to change the way downloads are done.

I am not accusing you of intent but what if your software was taken over / sold to another person/company with
maliciuos intent. We cannot download with the assumption its ok just disable anti virus.

I have attached the screen shot of Kasperky warning that the latest update has a trojan with the name of Trojan.MSIL.Crypt.gzal

upon googling this it is not very promising.

Hoping for a public response and explanation.
Regards
Lionel

Can you send me latest and greatest version.

Thank you kindly.

Hi Dan,

Unfortunate that this happens for each release but as a consumer we cannot be complacent in this day and age. Not with so many things happening.

Does this mean every software developer has to get antivirus signature for each release?

Hi Paul,

I did do as described but as soon as I ran vArranger, Kaspersky popped up with warning message.

Something needs to be done here as Kaspersky refuses to allow vArranger to run.

I have attached snippet.

Suggest Dan you need to factor in code because this is not becoming acceptable based on results

Hi Dan,

So much issue with latest update.

Kaspersky will delete no matter what I do.

I have paused protection and downloaded.

Moved to location and run, nope Kaspersky finds and quarantines file.

Restore file and again Kaspersky will block it and quarantine file.

Hi Dan,

Yes sounds very interesting indeed.

How do we control who write what and how it is written.

Do you appoint admins for this or ?

Ok so some new features will make it worthwhile to use.

Including saving of VST settings.

So plainly put that means one works within the app while the other works outside the app.

Hi Dan,

I am now venturing into VST more now and have tried SampleTank 3.
Could you send me latest version of vArranger.

Will be trying jBridge because SampleTank 3 is 64 bit.

Hi Dan,

Yes it is informative.. I know a lot of would be users complain of what is vArranger, what can it do, etc.

This is a step in the right direction.
As for Manual, it is only for current users in a sense and would be users have not the time or patience to read thru it.hence the forum.

Lionel
#29
Oops Sorry John slow reply. I must have overlooked.

The styles are triggered by left hand chords. As soon as she touches 1st chord vArranger does intro.

The control I am using currently is just volume control to adjust volume in vArranger my part only.

I only use the sounds of SD4 not using any additional sounds. I do layer the sounds thru vArranger when needed.

All controls are done thru keyboard where we can adjust volumes, tempo, variations, fill ins, etc.

Sometimes I just do solo with vArranger chord feature handling the chords, etc.

Hi John,

To help you understand my setup...

I have a Roland PCR800 keyboard connect into vArranger, my Godin Midi Guitar is connected into a Roland GI20
Module which connects thru to vArranger. The output from vArranger goes into my Ketron SD4 which then has Audio out to my mixer.

My wife plays the keyboard which triggers the chords on vArranger, I play the melody mainly. The Sounds are reasonably nice. I generally favor Tenor sax and Golden trumpet and Clarinet.

Sometimes I use the chord feature, but it doesn't do everything I need yet.

Have used it for a couple of years now.

Hi

I agree with Deane & Denis.

I am also a happy user of vArranger and use it live all the time.

It has to me the most flexible of live playing setups for an arranger.

Lionel
#54
To me botom line is..

If you think the price is high..then use the alternatives.
If you want it and think the price is high then what are you comparing it with... do your homework.
If the users are backing it up surely they must think it does it job for price..otherwise we are all blinded somehow..

Why the big discussion on something you don't have..is it because of what???
I want it but cost stoo much..Why?
The alternatives are not good enough for me?

Yes I could go on too...

Lionel
#55
Hi Quick reply.

I have LiveStyler and find it restrictive and sounds ah well ??? not as I like.

It is also you pay for additional features and rstricted to base styles.

I found it hard to adapt too and that's me.

Lionel
#56
Hi,

It seems most people want something to next to nothing and use an excuse to justify it.

If you can't see the value of vArranger it is because you have no idea of it's capability or just don't know how it works.

You take BIAB (Band in A Box) it has updates twice a year mostly to expand on styles at $100 US dollars.
Now do your homework...

Don't forget you gotta buy it 1st...

You want something for nothing then go get the cheapies or freebies..

By the way I own BIAB..and other software..

Lionel
#57
My feedback would be....

vArranger is far more flexible than any other arranger that I know and utilises more than one brand style. eg...Ketron,Yamaha,Roland,etc.

Yes you pay upfront and have allstyles at your finger tips to use. With a few more changes to allow style alterations you have a powerful
arranger.  I would think some people don't have need for all features, so having said that then we could have as follows

1. A price structure for base users.
2. An upgrade price for more advanced features.
3. Existing users should be allowed say additional 2 years before an upgrade price applies, because who knows how far this could go
and it would be unreasonable to have lifetime upgrade. Of course this would be graded based on users time with vArranger.

This can get a bit complicated but with forum feedback get a general feel of what people think.

Edit: We don't have to follow the others as to what they do..be customer based and different..

Hi Chaps,

After a busy month of playing etc. This is a good time to jump in with comments.

In a way I agree with Jon.

Because when you need to find that song in a hurry scrolling thru the playlist is a tad slow..

Who knows what your new palylist is like Dan but I think my comment is still valid.
Why can't we have like a Blow up window when you click on the playlis. The window blows up to a good size with a lot more list songs and just click the song to close to normal size.

Anyway I will wait and see what the new playlist is like..
Cheers

As far as I am aware you can only save Ketron styles and Yamaha styles.

If you are load by the load button then chances are you can't save unless you loaded either of the above.

If you are using the Beta versions I believe it does not save certain file types as yet - because it is a beta version.

Hi Bernie,

No worries mate. Glad to be of some help.

Just so I am on the right track here, you want to be able to access all instruments available on the SD4 as you would access from vArranger
or another program that accesses all the banks.

As I understand the Upper banks are whhat you get when loading instruments via my previous post.

For instance Jazz Tenor is not general midi instrument (No.16 on SD4)
Golden Trumpet is not general midi instrument (No.10 on SD4)

These are already in SD4 as presets.

So you are really looking to retrive these quickly.

Hang on I will fire up my SD4 and see how.

Edit:
HAving a quick look and not connecting to anything.

On SD4
To get Liscio Sax ..Press Voice 1 button ..it starts flashing
with numbers buttons just to the left tap the 1 followed by 7
that will flash to your right in the Big LED window
it will stop flashing and becomes 017 for Liscio Sax

For any instruments mentioned on top presets display just select Voice1  Right
tap the number and there you go.

For live performance just leave Voice 1 right flashing (selected) and tap your numbers as required

If you really need more than that I will have to find a few minutes and experiment for you, as I said before I don't save User presets
on the SD4

By the way The Notation Composer you have to add in the PAtch MAp file to be able to access the Ketron upper banks

I just added the SD2 ini patch map in place of SD4 and all is fine.

The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: SD4 and vArranger

Hi Bernie,

Can I ask that why you want to save custom presets as the SD4 itself has quite a few already available.

I don't save any on the SD4 itself as I just access them thru the program. To access the banks is that the real issue.

I haven't got mine set up right now after being packed from last gig.

I will have a look atMidi Notate composer and compare with what I use and get back to you.

You are exactly right - Trust & Respect is earned not brought or given.

In this case here the Developer has already earned his.

No i would not give anybody access to my system unless I really need too.

But if you had to take your computer in for repair to a PC shop you are really given the guy access to your system
to do whatever he pleases - but do you trust & respect him (Not likely) maybe 1 or the other and if you are fortunate you just happen to know the
guy personally.

Anyway I do see your point of view but sometimes you have to go by instinct.
Way up the pros & cons , etc.

The idea is to promote the service to those who need it not scare the hell out of them.

I recommend this sytem to those who need it and Trust & respect Dan.

But as you say you don't 100% I would have to be honest and say the same thing. But you have to use common sense and judgement as well.

The only person I trust & respect 100% is My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

No I am not preaching to you either.. I just do but it didn't happen overnight either.

Lionel
#71
Yes very handy for those who are not PC literate and cost saving are huge.

A PC technician will charge a arm and a leg to look at your computer these days.

You will find most or a lot of Reputable anti-virus companies, businesses do this very thing Dan is offering.

Symantec (norton) does this as a fact.

You do have full control to terminate at anytime.

The bottom line is if you don't want that sort of help you don't use it. But for others who need help, here is a surefire quick way
to resolve issues very quickly.

Good one Bernie,

Never give up as that just breeds defeat ;D

As for program changes using your SMF files. That is fairly straight forward. Whatever you use to play your SMF
files whether your keyboard or a program you select SD4 as output source. You will require a Patch file to access the upper banks
or select via numbers if you know them.

Bernie,
A USB hub should work ok

I use to use a hub which had 3 connections out of it before I bought my new Laptop.

The Hub was powder by an external source not from Laptop.

With Hub connected I just plugged in the keyboard and it was recognized, I also used SD2 thru a USB to midi converter

Hope you have success in hooking it up. We are sure to help if if not.

The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: SD4 and vArranger
August 25, 2012, 11:48:52 PM
Hi Bernie,

I will add to confuse you ;D

On my setup using vArranger:
On midi in I select keyboard input (make sure the correct input from your keyboard as I have a choice of 3 from a roland PCR800
which shows up in vArranger midi in)

On midi out I select the device which the SD4 is connected to (in my case a Komplete Audio 6) which is connected to Laptop via USB cable
The SD4 is connected to the Komplete Audio 6 via a midi cable out from Komplete Audio to Input 1 of SD4 midi

I don't use SD4 usb to laptop as that causes issues.

Just make sure that whatever the SD4 is connected to the Laptop is the output source for vArranger

You can use a USB to midi converter cable as output connection. That is one end of the cable is a USB connection and the other end
is a midi 6din connection. Just connect USB to Laptop and midi end to SD4 Input #1.

If you need further help I can show you a screen shot of vArranger midi setup

Hi Dan,

Could I ask if my earlier post is feasible.

That is instead of having the sub folders permanently shown could they be clickable
in other words open to sub folders on click and close to main folder on click.

Lionel
#79
Hi Guys,

I see the files with-in the folders and Subs
but what I think is that the main folders when clicked should open the subs on the song bar and closed
when clicked again, because when you have a heap of songs in a sub you have to scroll right through all of them to get to next
main folder.

Also since the topic is another improvement for next update I'd like to add another one

That is when a midi file has started and you get anywhere and decide you need to restart it is a task to complete.
I know you can click on the bar under A and B but to actually get to the start of song  is not easy.
Like praticing on a count-in or intro or a fudged start and you want to restart the midi.

A restart or reset to beginning is what we need. OR another way if suggested and better.

Thanks

The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: SD4 Question
August 17, 2012, 09:40:56 PM
Hi Bernie,

I tend to use SD4 more than SD2, I have more instant control over volume (Volume knobs on SD4 right in front of me)
Sound wise - there is a noticable difference. For my purposes I favour SD4.

For your previous question. On your lead instrument you can change your instrument patch on the SD4 right on the SD4 or
you can set it up to do thru your instrument with patch changes.

I have not regretted my SD4 purchase. The main difference is there is basically 2 x SD2 sound engines in the SD4 with on board control
of volume, patches and other. The SD4 in my opinion seems a little more cleaner but also maybe a little thinnner.

So yes you can easily modify your lead instrument sounds direct on SD4..

Lionel
#81
The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: SD4 Question
August 16, 2012, 06:37:18 AM
Hi Bernie,

I have a SD4 as well as SD2.

Your question is unsure to me but I will answer as I see.

For using any program that plays back midi, you normally can have a thru channel for your lead instrument.
That is in your case your keyboard in into your program set to thru channel out to SD2.

I do this at times with Powertracks program or BIAB when I want to play with the notes showing when playing a song.

As for SD4 you can have a seperate in channel as well a program in. (2 in channels)
You can change lead instrument direct on SD.

Back to vArranger, nothing is quicker that pre-assigning your lead instruments to your keyboard buttons/pads.

The only thing vArranger has missing (probably not for too long) is that you can read each note as it plays in notation.
Something that is very handy for those who read music (like me) to learn new songs or to pratice and most cases use to play live.

I hope I answered in some way

Lionel

#82
Hi Deane,

If you plan to run any vst (software base sounds) then you need something with a little more grunt than your standard laptop.
(That is if you plan on using outputs to a VST base program from vArranger)

I have Kontakt 5 on my laptop and various other software base sounds.

I have i7 Quad with 16 Gig of RAM (Yes RAM not hard drive)

But if you plan to run only vArranger then most Laptops will be fine with say 4 Gig of ram and i5 processor.
As vArranger is basically midi based, which doesn't require grunt.

Brian as I understand the system looks at them as trust certificates but are actually Roland styles.

Because the extension is the same as trust certicates, the styles appear the same.

I believe you cannot open them direct as in double clicking or right click open but must be
loaded thru vArranger load option

Correct me if I am wrong

Lionel

Hi Dan,

After giving it another whirl after beta 3

Yeah! Roland styles opens another world and good range of styles.

Hi 4Part,

No you asre not doing anything wrong if you get such a message.

The message is implying that the counter index of the array was outside it's index
for example the array bounds is 1 to 100 and the index referred to 101 then it is outside the bound of the array

This is a coding error which Dan will fix, part of finetuning small bugs...

I always aim towards center of floor, and also to allow yourself to hear what's playing as the crowd sometimes gets loud particularly on sing alongs.

Anybody else have some good tips..

Hi guys,

While on the subject do you turn speakers inwards towards the center of floor or closer to front?

Personally stereo for me is giving the listener the impression of the sound moving from left to right or vice versa.

It all about them...

Hi Oz,

If I understand your question. ???

Can the songs you played on vArranger thru SD2/SD4 or BK7m be palyed back as a midi file.

Well the next version I believe will have the option to save vArranger songs as midi file, so you can play that back thru any midi
compliant software including vArranger itself.

Correct me if I am wrong

Lionel.

Hi Oz,

Welcome to the forum.. 8)

Good to another Aussie here.

Answer to your questions..
a) The price and purchase options are here... http://www.varranger.fr/Buy_Now.php
The button you refer to is not on the homepage but the forums Homepage indicating to 'Current Owners' (people who have purchased) that
the latest version is 1.14 so anybody who sees this and has not updated can download the latest version.

b)  Read this thread http://www.varranger.fr/vforum/index.php?topic=284.0

c) I don't own one so I can't answer that question

d) There is no demo given out now due to piracy issues rampant on the web. But you can read about it here...http://www.varranger.fr/vforum/index.php?topic=565.0

Some info from me... :o

I also have a Godin Midi guitar (Love it)
I have vArranger2 hooked up to my pc running to an SD2/SD4
I also have a PCR800 edirol keyboard hooked up as well

Any questions fire away mate..  ;)

Hi Dusan,

From what i gather yo are asking, vArranger does what you want.

That is set the song with whatever you want including patches to intruments per variation style intro's , ending save and that s how
it will play back.

Hi Dusan,

If you can tell me what you want in a song exactly then I will try to explain
how I do my setup. Every one has a different approach to how they do things.

In some  songs that I have setup I just hit any key - songs starts with intro, plays all chords including fills, variation changes
all instruments are set and change when variation changes, and of course ending plays.

The mod wheel is set in case tempo needs to be increased or decreased when playing live.

And other songs my wife plays all chords, variation changes and ending. (This is best way to do dynamic playing)

Hi Dusan,

If I understand what you are asking then the registration for vArranger
is like when you set a song up or style it can be saved unique, meaning that all if not most
settings , paremeters are saved with it, and when you select and open that song/style all settings are there
instantly for that song.

Hi Vasik,

If you wanted to make a CD you would have to record the SD2 outputs and then
you would use mastering tools and burn too CD.

Hi Vasik,

What you ask is not necesary what I understand, but here goes.

You can modify style as in changing instruments, volume, panning, chorus, reverb, tempo. (plus some I miss)

You can have no chord inserted where you want no chord playing but song still going.

You cannot mute here and there thru out the song, it is either muted or not, but you can edit style structure thru CASM edit(for Yamaha styles)
you can do certain things according to scrren shot below.

Hi Vasik,

I don't use touch screen either, both my hands busy ;D

Everything can be selected by mouse or assigned to keyboard(Computer) or/And
assigned to your Keyboard(Instrument).

For example on my setup (Edirol PCR800) the varation changes are assigned to four keypads (1 for each variation)

Fills are also assigned to four other keypads (but fills can be triggered automatically via variation changes)

The sliders are assigned to
1. main volume
2.left intrument volume (keyboard melody)
3.right instrument volume (midi guitar melody)
4.other sliders to tracks like drums, bass, etc.
5.tempo assigned to mod lever(so we can speed or slow down during playing)

You can assign just about everything to your keyboard(intrument) and/or Keyboard(PC)

I have attached a couple of screenshots and one of my keyboard

Anything you want to know just fire away.
Glad to be of assistance

Hello again,

I'm glad to be of help.

On being able to try this, well there is no demo currently available.
There use to be, but in today's world of dishonest people and piracy that is currently on hold.

If you type vArranger in utube you will see some guys showing their stuff.
Have a look.

I have been a user for a while and never regretted buying vArranger.

The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: Varranger
November 24, 2011, 09:50:25 PM
Hi Vasik,

Welcome to the forums.

How does vArranger work. Put simply...

Your GW-8 as a midi controller is the input to vArranger
You need an output sound source like Ketron SD2 (vArranger does not have sounds with-in itself)

Your GW-8 you press the keys (chords) with your left hand and vArranger according to style chosen plays
that with the data output to SD2 which generates the sounds.

You can split the keyboard so left hand plays chords, right hand plays melody, etc

You asked....
Is this full arranger with sounds and styles, or does it need to have external sounds and styles?

It is a arranger with styles(lots of them) but needs an external sound source. (Meaning something to generate the sound
with vArranger telling it what to play and what sort of instrument, etc)

You asked....
May i use this varranger with my Roland GW-8?

If GW-8 has midi output via USB or midi cable, yes you can..

You asked....
Where can i buy it?

On the home page there is a link to Buy  Now..

For further info just ask away.

The vArranger² Software Forum / Re: usb hub use (lionel)
November 13, 2011, 01:33:19 AM
Hi Jon,
As I can recall I had no issues using the setup I had.

Today I have a bit different but simular setup.

I have a new Laptop with 4 USB inputs (one is a USB 3 type) my previous laptop had 3 USB ports.

I use one USB port for a Edirol PCR800 keyboard (a full USB midi keyboard - no inbuilt sounds)
Also I use one USB port for my Roland GI20 midi Guitar interface
Also use one USB port for Edirol UM-1X midi interface to Ketron SD4 (not using USB direct - some issues occur)
and last one to connect to my Native Instruments Complete Audio 6 USB Soundcard.

At the moment I use a Bluetooth mouse which disconnected on my last performance and the Touchpad refused to initiate
so I had to reboot system and that is a bit embarrassing for a live performance.

Now I will use a USB hub to give me spare ports in case I have issue again and contemplating using nano controller for greater
vArranger control.

Answer to question: Inputs and outputs shows up as the controller name/type and had no issues

#118
Dan,

Will the option be available for Left instrument users.
As i mention to Jon in a previous thread, because I play all lead while my wife plays chords on Right instrument.

My take is that the harmony feature needs a dialog of its own with the option of selecting 3rds, 5ths,etc.
because of the range that can be selected.

I have attached some screen shots of BIAB Harmony setup.

Lionel
#119
I hope so.
We now just have to wait and see.

Lionel
#120
Hi Jon,

That is exactly what I have been waiting for too. I mentioned a while ago about a harmony feature and that was something we have to
wait for 8)

The only difference is I need harmony on Left instrument not rigth as I play all melodies while my wife does chords etc.

Hi to All,

My turn  ;D

Dan is right in what he said on his last post.

We should be welcoming newbies of vArranger and then encourage development.

But then we should not have someone come along and say things they find wrong with vArranger
and of course the vArranger community bites back.

We must remember Bartosz wants to find a suitable program for HIS project and finds things are not all it seems.
Well ok, but WHY? such a offensive TOPIC heading ----Re: Are you really happy with this product???-------

Why not something like --- Organ features of vArranger---- Can we develop these?

or --- Can vArranger be developed for organ players----

or ---something to highlight a need or the sort..

It seems we have our 1st forum war in a sense for the vArranger community and our newcomer.

If things requested can be done then we all WIN WIN, otherwise leave the forum members in peace and find alternatives.

We believe in vArranger and DAN and that is why we purchased and use vArranger.

Hope I find positive reading of the forum soon

Regards
Lionel
#122
Hi Bartosz,

Subject heading "Are you really happy with this product? "

Answer: Yes, I am, why, because it does what I want it to do, because the developer added features I requested

WHY: Because he listens to his customers.

If an issue is found the solution is implemented.
When you find an issue it is because you are using it in a way that somebody has not.

As you have read the developer has offered an explanation and offered some solutions and willing to change to suit.

THAT IS WHY I AM HAPPY WITH vARRANGER BECAUSE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!
AND IT DOES WHAT I AM REQUIRING!!!!

Having said that you have a clear answer not because of any other reason except I love my vArranger..
for live playing..

Hi Ninh,

Thanks for your kind reply.

I also experienced hestitation on variation change on certain yamaha styles, but I did not notify Dan.

I suppose I thought it would be picked up quickly by the users and I didn't bother.

Also I was not sure if it was just the way it is, but sounded out of place.

Yes Dan, I too have issues with some Yamaha styles.

Does this happen only on Yamaha styles?

Lionel

Hi Dan,

You said it
If you think about something that can be improved, let me know.

(maybe saving the LINK button ON/OFF state with every song...)

That would be good as some songs you want to change your own thing and others you want the LINK button to change for you.

I would say yes to that!

Dan

Thanks for the update.

Used yesterday live and no issues. (With a new laptop -Win 7- 64 bit)

In regards to the parameters  and the saving of them - Can we have a basic description of what each parameter does.
This could help with understanding the usefullness of the parameters.

#128
Rikki,

Why do you need to assign vArranger control to anything else but your Korg PA3X Arranger keyboard.

You originally asked about assigning variation control, why can't you assign to your Korg PA3X Arranger keyboard.

Or doesn't it have any midi controllers on board.

Lionel
#129
Dan,

Good thinking Number 99, you saved my bacon. 8)

That would be embarassing to turn up at a gig and say Oops I forgot the music :-[

Lucky for you that you have set vArranger as a score viewer.

Well Done Dan. ;D

Lionel
#130
Hi Rikki,

I have missed something.

What instrument are you using with vArranger?

Lionel
#131
Hi Rikki,

There are  a few ways to trigger a variation change.

1. You can asign the changes to a midi keyboard eg. variation 1 to a midi controller - variation 2 to another midi controller
the above is how our midi keyboard contollers are set. (To a lot of various other things as well)

2. Assign variation to any PC keyboard key.

3. If you use song chord feature you set the variation with this feature and select the Link button on main screen. vArranger will change variation
by itself when it reachs the pre-programmed changes in chord feature.

September 11, 2011, 06:01:31 AM
Hi Dan,

Having mentioned about BASS BOOST EQ.. can we have that either assigned to a controller or
can we possibly have save to song where each song has its own character.

I usually find that the bass is the thing I need to watch out for on most of the songs played.

I know you can use the mixer / PA amp EQ but that also takes away the bass character of all instruments.

Does the 'Filter cut off frequency' also save for each song.

Thanks

Hi Guys,

My two bob worth is that if using a laptop I prefer Licence to harddrive as USB using the USB port which may be needed for External devices
and in my case all USB ports are used that is 3 plus I have one connected to USB expansion so in total I use 6 USB device to play live.

Also a USB dongle is easier to lose in a live play moving scenario.

A harddrive failing is a lot less than losing a dongle

Hey my 2 bob nothing more

Hi Jon,

I am in good old Land Down Under (Australia mate)

Over here (or down here :D) the shops only shutdown mainly New Year, Christmas.
If they shutdown in factories they usually have after hours, etc.

I am not sure what you call HOT over there but in summer here we go from 32 to 40 deg Celsuis
and Humidity it can be like arhh yuk bloody sticky and hot.

But it's not that bad most times ok.

Do you use SD2 or SD4 or both?

Lionel

Hi Guys,

I have been following this topic and seeing the frustration and interest in particular that Ketron will not acknowledge or reply
to anybody over the SD2 issue or any issue for the matter.

It shows their ignorance of the fact that we have paid money for their products and they have got what they want and that is the end of the matter.

Look at the comparison to vArranger and Ketron.

We ask a question about vArranger or a fix or addition, the Developer/Owner responds and does what the purchaser wants/needs.
Bloody good customer service :)

Ketron, well we seem to find out that they are all deaf and blind :'(
No response, regardless of what maybe the case.

Let's hope that somebody at Ketron has learnt Braille. (At least they might feel our complaint)

Lionel
#142
Hi Guys,

Sorry about the SD2 results.

I and like someothers are not close to Ketron repair sources or the like so I decide on getting the
SD4 which I have not looked back yet.

I use SD2 in conjuction with SD4 when needed.

Sure it maybe dearer but it has 2 independent sound boards and works well with vArranger

Ketron should update the patch so others are not unfortunate to fry their SD2 as well.

I believe this to be poor service to customers to otherwise an exceptional unit

Hi Deane,

It sounds like you play oldies like I do, and for the oldies,

That is how I like playing the old songs from the 20's to say 60's
and My wife and myself play too oldies in retirement villages.

Also reading your posts I note you talk about issues with A800 keyboard, I happen to have a PCR800 Edirol(Roland) and
it works well with vArranger and have all buttons/knobs assigned to vArranger.

I have spent a lot  of time in vArranger and use it all the time. It does a great job. Quick and easy.
