hello, due to other projects and other hobbies, I am selling my vArranger.
Full version, updatable, registered with Dan. (349,-)
Korg, Yamaha (Genos), Ketron, Roland soundfonts to start vArranger on your PC even with no extra MIDI sound equipment. Bought from Dan. (249,- + 100 for Genos)
Lots of MIDI files and enough free memory space left.
Dan wants 50 Euros if the vArranger changes it's owner. I'll pay that.
All for 300 Euro.

From this morning, the link for the 'midi song to style' introduced in last night's genos 2 presentation is free for all to use.

There is no need to register genos2 or anything else, and the files produced are in standard genos format.
I tested the software in about 5 minutes and it also allows fully automatic processing, which needs to be refined.
The results, for an automatic processing, are surprising; logically, to do a job well done you have to do some fine tuning, but in my opinion this software will allow the creation of a few thousand new styles and will make many of you happy.

Migliora molto il suono nel complesso, preamplifica qualora ce ne fosse bisogno, è molto leggero e nel mio setup ha preso il posto di reviber2.

I use fx3 for effects on guitars (of soundbanks too) of style.

Is it possible for future development to send MIDI program change on fx3 (save with sounds, for example), to use in style tracks to change effect presets?

I thinks this could be useful to enhance guitar sounds.

Vi segnalo che da qualche tempo sto utilizzando vArranger con spacedesk --> https://spacedesk.net/. Sostanzialmente un'app che permette di estendere lo schermo del pc ad altri dispositivi via wireless (rete interna o creata ad hoc).
Io sto usando come client un tablet android, ma può essere usata su molti altri dispositivi, oltretutto con la possibilità di collegare più schermi:

Sul tablet si sfrutta il touch e è davvero come avere il display di una tastiera fisica, con totale assenza di ritardi. Certo, con uno schermo >10 pollici sarebbe ancora meglio, ma direi che va alla grande.

Per i fader meglio usare qualcosa di fisico, ma per i pulsanti è perfetto. Lo preferisco a soluzioni tipo touchosc così si riesce a vedere anche i feedback del programma, il nome dei preset, ecc...

Riporto anche qua questa nota (anche se credo che gli utenti italiani l'abbiano già letta da altre parti):
giricchiando sul forum psrtutorial (cito la fonte, l'autore del file è l'utente "SnowThief") mi sono imbattuto in questo pdf.
Tante volte, provando i vari factory styles della genos (che utilizzo su vArranger), mi sono chiesto: ma questo style su quale pezzo è costruito?
Alcuni sono di facile lettura, altri invece magari incuriosiscono.
Vi riporto in allegato una lista, presa dal forum in questione, che riporta per ogni style la canzone su cui è costruito.
Lo stesso style poi, logicamente, può essere utilizzato per molte altre (ci sono una miriade di music finder in giro), ma mi sembra utile e interessante avere una base "originale" di riferimento.

Lo scrivo anche qua in italiano. Ho trovato questo nuovo plugin VST da utilizzare sul master:

Fa da compressore, "enhancer" e altro. Secondo me migliora e rende il suono più "spaziale" e profondo.

La configurazione di default mi sembra buona, senza necessità di ulteriori modifiche.

Magari se lo provate anche voi, mi fate sapere cosa ne pensate?

It's good, default configuration it's ok without fine tuning. It seems better than "Reviber" for my ears.

Ciao, condivido con voi una cover suonata con vArranger, soundbank, vst e compagnia varia.
Una novità è che il software è comandato oltre che dai tasti "fisici" della novation (ovvero da relativi comandi midi configurati) anche da tablet android con l'app touchosc e layout che ricalca la schermata del software (presa dal thread relativo); l'app in questione è davvero customizzabile.

Ne approfitto per fare di nuovo i migliori auguri a tutti, confidando in un nuovo anno davvero migliore di questo (e non è che ci voglia molto, direi...).

Lo stile è il 12-8PopBallad standard della categoria POP della genos.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I have a problem every time I save a SOUND with RIGHT2-3-4 from VST (every one go to --> VSTxx).

I have a sound from VSTxx on RIGHT1. And it's ok.

I select a sound from VST with SOUND EDIT -> PROGRAM CHANGE on RIGHT2-3-4.

Then (RIGHT2-3-4) SELECT TO MIDI OUT --> VST xx

Then SAVE --> RIGHT SOUND

Then if I recall the SOUND from MY SOUNDS or from the SOUND LIST I get only RIGHT1. RIGHT2-3-4 don't have the vertical indication of the SOUND names at the left of the sliders and not send the program change to the VST and not play.

But if I make the same, but I select on RIGHT2-3-4 the SOUND from SEND TO MIDI OUT --> VaSynth (for example a SF2 sound or a sound from a soundbank) the RIGHT2-3-4 is correctly saved.

So is the problem with VST?

can you help me with this strange behavior?

I had installed Halion on the VST 10 and occasionally saved the "startup config" both as a bank and preset.
At some point I started having a "vasynth error" when loading varranger.

To be able to use again the program I worked on the file vArranger2.ini and
I have deleted the data in the fields
VST10=
VSTControl10=
VSTControlInvert10=
VSTControlSwitch10=
VSTFX1_10=0
VSTFX2_10=0
VSTFX3_10=0
VSTChl10=
VSTTopMost10=

So Varranger started correctly without Halion.


At this point I tried to load halion back on the VST10. I went out, started varranger again and continued to have vaSynth blocking error.

I deleted the reference to halion again on the varranger.ini fields and tried to load halion on the VST11. So I had no more errors, even exiting and reopening vArranger.


So it would seem that, despite removing the data from vArranger.ini, the VST10 "keeps in memory" something related to Halion's old configuration (default saves?).

How can I solve it?

(Halion standalone doesn't give any kind of problem)

I make an implementation request which I think shouldn't be particularly complex. I realize that having some other "my sounds" I wouldn't mind. I use a PC keyboard to select program changes and being able to assign quick selection commands to multiple sounds would be useful. Maybe two pages of "my sounds"? or the possibility to assign specific "pc key controls" to sounds (from the list on the right) to select them? Do I only have this need?

I'll show you my setup in the picture.
I remember that you can connect n pc keyboards to the pc via usb. My pc has two pc keyboards.

is there a way to use it?

If I'm using vArranger I don't get audio from youtube video (and don't play).

Is there a solution with some audio configuration or the solution is: get the audio from smartphone?

I would like some suggestions on the use of some "master" VST.
I am using Reviber (http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=Reviber&id=3021 - freeware),
with excellent results regarding the "amplitude" of the sound.
Which one do you use?
To give more amplitude and depth of sound (and to remove any random distortions)?

Found online.

Lot of them are perfect, some of them need to be edited (volumes), few of them don't sound good (the same of bk-7 that don't sound good). (like Real Band: "Unplugged Ballad" - Dan, is it a problem of the style or is there a bad conversion?).

just a question. I'm using now kontakt as vst with some samples in a multi (+or- 30 gb of samples). It takes some minutes (6-8 minutes) to load "restore parameters". Some hints to reduce the loading time? Default save is better as "preset" or "bank"?

If I click on a track (for example right1) "user sounds" from the list of sounds disappear.

How could I do to let them appear again?

just to share with you some info.

I've all soundbanks from Dan, a ketron SD2 and some VSTs (from friends and second hand market).

Soundbanks from Dan are great for styles sounds but for "SOLO" sounds I'd like more expression.

So in my experience I've found that my best choice for SOLO sounds are:

PIANO: Ketron SD2
E-Piano: VST Xpand2
Organ+Hammond: VST Xpand2 + Ketron SD2
Acoustic - classic guitar: VST Ample Guitar or some SF2
Electric Guitar: kontakt+strawberry
Sax: Ketron SD2
Strings: Ketron SD2 + VST Xpand2
Other brass and accordion: Ketron SD2

Too heavy? Maybe. 8 gb of RAM occupied.

There are two problems in this setup:
1. SD2 sounds are routed in midi output2 so I have to save each sound of the ketron expander as a preset sound - (please Dan, let see all sd2 sounds in suond list also if they are in VST2  )
2. switching between xpand2 preset is a really a mess. save some of them as vst preset. click on VST, click on Xpand2 and click the preset. In LIVE playing is a bit difficult. But this is a know problem!

Hello! I write my question here without disturbing Dan in private. I took the 4 soundbanks and they sound really good on the styles. But for solo sounds I would prefer to use the ketron sd2 because I like the way the sound comes out (and I also have more variety).
If I associate the vAsynth as midiout1 and select "usb midi cable" + ketron sd 2 as midiout2 I don't see the ketron sounds in the voices list but only the soundbanks sounds. Should I load the ".ins" file?
Doing the opposite is very inconvenient, because I should remap the sounds of each styles (a huge job) on midiout2 to leave the ketron sd2 on midiout1.
Is anyone in the same situation as me?

volevo provare alcuni suoni presi da bs-16i soundfonts (in particolare di chitarra, in alternativa all'SD2, le cui chitarre sono un pò "mosce"), quindi:
1. metto il file nella cartella vArrangerData\Sounds\SAMPLES
2. ho selezionato varranger software synt come midi out 2 (con GM2)
3. cliccando su INS&SF2 mi carica la schermata che trovate in allegato con le chitarre "ai primi posti"

Come faccio a farle suonare?

Se seleziono in una RIGHT VOICE il MIDI OUT2 non mi suona. Cosa sto sbagliando? Come posso fare?

What's the fastest mode to switch between bank sounds and vst? For example, I'm playing a song with piano but I want to play a guitar solo with a vst from kontakt. How I switch fast to this sound?

Could you give me some suggestions?

Sono anni che lo monitoro (sono iscritto al forum dal 2016) e alla fine mi sono deciso dopo averci pensato a lungo... l'ho comprato!

Sto aspettando la licenza e non vedo l'ora di metterci le mani (e di confrontarmi con gli altri amici italiani!)

lo userò con una solton ms100 e una novation launchkey e, come modulo, un sd2!

Vorrei poi agganciarci dei vst (più che altro chitarre acustiche - elettriche) dato che quelle dell'sd2 non mi piacciono e nei pezzi "solo" vorrei provare ad usare suoni esterni. Spero di riuscirci...
