Hi Dan,

Having downloaded the latest version 1.19 Kaspersky refused to download it.

This is not the 1st time an update has had a warning.

In this day and age this is not the solution of disabling antivirus to download an update based on its ok faith.

i would expect as you the programmer needs to change the way downloads are done.

I am not accusing you of intent but what if your software was taken over / sold to another person/company with
maliciuos intent.We cannot download with the assumption its ok just disable anti virus.

I have attached the screen shot of Kasperky warning that the latest update has a trojan with the name of Trojan.MSIL.Crypt.gzal

upon googling this it is not very promising.

Hoping for a public response and explanation.

Hi Dan,

So much issue with latest update.

Kaspersky will delete no matter what I do.

I have paused protection and downloaded.

Moved to location and run, nope Kaspersky finds and quarantines file.

Restore file and again Kaspersky will block it and quarantine file.

I read on Facebook of another feature added to Master output.

Is this available in beta to test Dan.

Can someone explain the Pros & Cons of using a virtual midi from vArranger into a for example Sample Tank3 versus using VST in vArranger to Sample Tank 3.

Could you be able to set the Link button to be able to work on Right or Left instruments.

That would allow either Left or right to have My sounds follow Variations

Hi Dan,

Now I have had my break and getting back to a routine, I am examining vArranger a bit closer.

I would like to know what the description and numbers represent.

On each track left side (see attachment)  there are numbers in brackets and description of instrument
I assume the numbers are bank and instrument number.

Is this the case?
Also on double click to sound edit the numbers for bank select is different to above question

I have had a great last few weeks with the carols and of course using vArranger to present them.

I am asking if anybody has any problems after the latest fix for SD2 bug.

I for one have found 100% success since Dan has implemented the bug fix, NO issues to date.

Now I am experimenting with the sound edit channel (double click any channel)

This is not saveable yet?

Particularly the drum channels, can these changes be saved with songs?

Hi Dan,

As someone who explores and researches I have come across the issue when I open any style from vArranger that I have into Style Works or even in another program that edits Ketron styles is says it is not a Ketron style.

I had a couple of the same styles sent to me that are supposely genuine and they open in any of these programs.

What is your view here.

Have you been starving it

Even though the function of vArranger appears the same the size is almost half the orginal. What goes, some miracle slimming code?

Hi All,
Does anybody find that when loading a new style (One that has not been altered and saved previously)that the volumes of Guitar, Strings and Drums sound loud and out of place.
I realize that all Amps,PA's are different but each one of us is using the SD2 we should have similar sound volumes.
Having said that, does anyone have that special sound worked out thru the use of volume, reverb, chorus, etc.

Now that is where the swapping of knowledge and sounds come in. I believe the designer of this program (Dan) is working on such a swap between users?

Feedback, anybody?

Hi Dan,
Unless I have missed something somewhere there is no saving of Instruments for Left 1,2 & 3 and for Right 1,2 & 3.
I know some intruments are layered but if you add your own to a song you can't save for Left1,2,3 and Right 1,2,3.

Just wondering about having a harmony feature added. does anybody have ideas or preferences.

I thought a button to select preset harmony so it can be assigned to controller and select when needed, etc chorus.

I know I have touched on this subject before, but I have not got far.

I have searched high and low and have found very little on styles for Ketron, all I have found is carillon studios who sell styles.

Has anybody any knowledge on quality of style from this mob.

Or does anybody know of others.

Hi Dan,

Another important point for me is the ability to control volumes. As with my midi guitar I can control my volumes thru vArranger no problem, but with the keyboard the lack of a midi volume wheel or similar makes it very difficult to alter the volume, particularly if the keyboard is used for support harmony/melody.

Maybe some keyboards have a midi assignable volume control but with mine (Casio Privia) there is no midi assignable volume wheel. I can't be the only one who has this problem, unless I have overlooked something.

I am asking if the volumes can be assigned to keys on PC keyboard where one key is volume up and another volume down. At the moment you can only assign to a wheel.

Also using the mouse to drag the sliders can be frustrating as the seem to be reluctant to move at times.

But hey that triggered a thought - if we select the track/ input instrument to change volume we could use the mouse wheel to control volume. Can that be a solution?

Is there another solution for this nagging problem.

Hello All,
Does anybody know or may have purchased any styles for vArranger (or keyboard equivalent) which is exceptional.

I am looking for additional styles to expand my existing styles and sometimes you can't seem to find the one you need for a particular song.

Any suggestions or directions is most appreciated.

This will also make the vArranger a very valuable investment and asset for live playing.

Hi Dan, and All,

Played for the Oldies on the week-end and they loved the sound. Playing mainly old time music.

On some styles particularly Big Band brassy stuff the Intro's are a bit dynamic (Loud) nearly created disaster scene (lol)
Can they be turned down a bit to match the main style.

Otherwise vArranger2 is doing a great job.

I would like to hear what anybodies thoughts are on vArranger

Well, I would like to add my thoughts.
When I first stumbled across VArranger I thought Ah something to help me set my Ketron SD2 without having to fiddle and figure out via SysEx files. So I searched the forums for info on this product, but not much was found except asking price was a bit high compared to other products. So I contacted Dan the developer and pounded him with questions and said I needed a demo to test if it would do the job required. Dan then sent me a demo and I responded with my needs and with brilliant support Dan added features that was required. I play a Midi guitar and my wife plays keyboard and because the SD2 outputs High Quality sounds for midi we use vArranger to get the best out of it and Yes it does extract the best out of it. At first I used Band In A Box for my backing and my wife was made redundant as it had better styles than on board styles on the keyboard also sound wise BIAB was better than onboard keyboard sounds unless you pay big dollars for better ones - I mean big dollars for a family budget.

Now I discovered vArranger and with Dual input one for my Midi Guitar and one for keyboard for my wife and with Inbuilt styles  with superior sound quality my wife is re-instated 

I have used it live outdoors as well indoors and it does a very good job. Now I have bought vArranger because it brings a new life to our playing and sound, the cost is justified because SD2 is made alive with vibrant sounds because the vArranger has been coded to take advantage of the sounds that the end user cannot reach or use without extensive knowledge of SD2 sysex code.

Anyway I can rant and rave but that does not help you, but what I can say is Yes vArranger does a marvelous job for me and with a few more additional features it will of great value to owners of SD2 module.
