How do you load a BIAB song with the file extension .mg4 .mg1. When I try to load the file it comes back with non supported file.

If people researched vArranger properly they would be aware of it's limitations, instead of which, they buy the product and immediately start asking for something that suites their particular set up and start carping when they cannot see it materialising.
The arranger ticks so many boxes and what it does not I for one can live without and be pleasantly surprised if it is added in the next version
( for which I paid nothing ).
To go back to Deane's original question. I have SD1000 and it sounds good but I cannot make a comparison with the SD2 but it beats the Roland Bk7 and the Yamaha MM6 for the quality of voices. I do not know if vArranger2 will edit SD1000 I just play it.

I have the 4 sound banks and the loading time including vst is 55 seconds. Once the main screen is on I have no further problems of any kind but I have 22GB of memory, perhaps this helps in some way.

I received this email several days ago, very disappointing news.

Hi Eric,

actually I've suspended working on this bank because I've done a very bad work on scripting and it makes an incredible CPU usage (too high to make this bank good for a standard use), despite of instruments sound absolutely realistic. This is my fault, and I'm so sorry, because I have probably disappointed You all.

So, I have to check all my scripts and try to optimize them at the best, because I want to give You a product that sounds...good, different from other similar products, and that it doesn't destroy the PC. My library "Italian Concert Organ" is the proof that this can be done, but...it is a very long work to do alone, together with other current works on the other instruments.

Thank You very much for Your interest about this bank and my work.

I have tried several sound modules with vArranger2, Roland bk7m, Yamaha mu128, Roland jv1010 but the Ketron SD1000 is by far the best to my ears.

I have and I was expecting the voicing to be good considering the size of the file but I was disappointed.

Very nice post. As a matter of interest, how long will it take you to set up your equipment from scratch ?.
Eric

Deane I have tried two sound modules with vArranger, the Roland BK7m and the Keytron SD1000. The Roland which is the more expensive of the two because of the inbuilt arranger was a disappointment, on the other hand the SD1000 was pure joy and works flawless with vArranger although some forum members may disagree.
You already own a keytron and SD2 and maybe the SD1000 is to similar. As for software I am waiting for Agaton to release news on his project and a company called Hephaestus is developing a General midi sound bank based on the Tyros 4 which will run in Kontact 5.
WORKING PROGRESS: 60% completed.

1) I can count seven people ( excluding Lylo and Agaton ) who seem to feel that vArranger is not " all things to all men ". That is a rather a low percentage of vArranger owners who perhaps, like me are content in the way that vArranger is being developed.
2) For those owners who now think that vArranger is a let down because it does not have the features they thought or expected it should have, perhaps they should have researched it before paying the modest asking price.

Hi music lovers
I purchased the above to implement in vArranger and I have run into a brick wall!!!!. I down loaded the phantom INS file and it is displayer in vArranger. As the Roland .sf2 files are all in folders eg piano, guitar, strings etc, I copied a few pianos out there folder and placed them into the samples folder in vArranger expecting to see them when I ran vArranger but nothing appeared when I chose PIANOS except the normal vArrager pianos. Can some kind person please point me in the right direction.
On vArranger under the sounds folder there is an empty presets folder, what files goes in there?.
Any help would be appreciated.
Eric

Surely this is down to Ovation99 to say that he disagrees with the 50 euro transfer charge as he is the seller, not anybody else.
#27
I fully concur with Agaton's statement. If I were Dan, further releases of vArranger2 would be on an Upgrade basis. I want melody harmony, if Dan should implement it at some stage in the future, I would cheerfully upgrade and pay.
#28
I have tried Bandstand with vArranger but was disapointed with the results, considering the size of the program the voices sounded little different to vArranger's own built in generator and not a patch on the SD1000.
Perhaps I was expecting to much.

I read Michael comment and decided that Bluecatpatchwork was just the program I needed to work with vArranger2. Unfortunately I may have loaded the 64bit version into vArranger and though it shows in the vst window the graphics for Bluecat are not appearing and when I try to delete by the red X although it says " unloading " vArranger freezes and have to use task manager to end vAranger.

I doing my level best to understand Agaton but you appear to be saying that with sampling and editing software integral to vArranger will sound superior to my SD1000 which I purchased because I could not find any software adequate.

Hi Lee
I am running a Samsung laptop model RF711 icore7 with 8gb of ram operating Windows 7 on 64bit. And for my desktop I am running Windows 8 with a HP pavillion with an AMD A6-540K processer at 3.60 GHz with 6 GBof ram on 64bit.
Both machines are trouble free and are running vAarrange2 and my Daws and vsti's without stuttering.
Hope this helps.
Take care

I agree with Agaton , I thought there was nothing wrong with my SD1000 version 1.1 because I was not doing the things that introduced the problems, when I did it was apparent that version 1.1 was displaying all the symptoms that other people were experiencing, but for home use with vArranger2 it is still an amazing sound module.

I did what you suggested and the voice altered and appeared a high pitched whistle this happens on R1, R2, and R3. Putting the switch back to monophonic OFF, R3 returns to it's normal voice and the same with R2, but R3 remains with the voice changed and the high pitched whistle is still apparent, only switching the SD 1000 off and back on again put R1 back to normal.

Hi Dan
Can I try the Beta version please.
#45
When I ordered my SD 1000 Dan told me to update it to ver. 1.1 presumably knowing that ver.1.0 could give problems. The first thing I did when I received the SD 1000 was to update the sound module before I tried it, since then I have used the module on the following without any problems.

vArrange2
Band in a box 2015
Power tracks
Presonus 2.6
MOTU  Digital Performer
Sonar x3
My input device is CME UF50 controller and the SD 1000 is coupled via usb to my desk top HP Pavilion. If one of you gentlemen can tell me how to get the SD 1000 to behave in a strange way, I will try and replicate it because I am intrigued to find out what is going on.

I have been playing my Keytron SD 1000 with vArranger and big band midi files ranging from 75k-125k and the pitch has never altered. I know this does not help your predicament Michael but it does show that an up dated SD 1000 and vArranger can be stable mates with no problems, ( at least non that I've found ).

September 29, 2014, 05:03:41 PM
I use vArranger2 for almost all my musical endeavours because it is such a delight to work with, however since purchasing a SD1000 I have number of big band arrangements which allows me to play the vocal part. I load the midi file into vArranger and using sound edit change the general midi patches into the SD1000 patches which affords me a lot more and better sounding instruments, but there is no way, at least not what I have found, to save the altered midi file which means the next time I load the file I have go though the same routine of altering the bank and patches.
Sound edit is so easy to use it seems a pity that you not save the altered file.

Eric

It seems to me that there is enough information around both written and in video format for people to decide that vArranger will compliment there musical expectations. I listened to the comments by other vArranger owners who paid the asking price and did not pick up any vibes that persuaded me not to invest in it.
Having decided to purchase vArranger I paid the retail price and not once have thought that the program was not worth what I paid, in fact it was enhanced by the service. Like others I have got BIAB and kept it up to date since my days with my old Atari at no mean cost, but vArranger is unique and to me you get what you pay for
I had a massive stoke 4 years ago which put paid to my playing ( or singing ) and I was devastated, but vArranger allows me to write chords, pick a style be it Yamaha, Roland and other manufactures, play with left hand ( that still works ) and use vsti instruments at will.
I think the price I paid was fair and affordable and after sales service remarkable, my wife would have paid double.

Dennis thank you for trying to me out. The first when I go into playback is that I have only got two options 1) Bluetooth hands-free Audio. 2) Realtek High Definition Audio. I pick option 1. In Properties, Advanced, I disabled Exclusive Mode. The default format WHICH I do not appear to have the ability to change is " 2 channels, 16 bit, 48000Hz (DVD Quality). It is only when I start vArranger that I get the option to select Audio out which includes Wasapi, Asio, DirectSound, and still only DirectSound worked under Bluetooth. I then decided to try Microwave synth to see if the options other than DIRECTSOUND would work and have finished up with Midi out only microwave synth ( vArranger synth, VST ) HAVE VANISHED, and the Audio out column has also disappeared.
Any thoughts.

Hi
I have a Samsung RF711 laptop and I wish to wirelessly connect to a Samsung HW-450F soundbar. vArranger shows two Bluetooth audio outputs. 1) Wasapi : Speakers ( Bluetooth hands-free audio) which does not work, 2) DirectSound : Speakers ( Bluetooth hands-free Audio ) which does work but there is a lag between playing a key and hearing the voice.
Am I wasting my time in attempting to use this system ?. Incidentally vArranger accompaniment works perfectly.

Hi All
I have just installed loop midi on my desktop without a problem yet when run it the setup screen appears with the following :-
loopMIDI : teVirtualMIDI32.dll not found!
The program created a folder called Tobias Eeichsen in Program Files (86)
with two sub folders called respectively loopMIDI which contains the .exe and release text. And teVirtualMIDI which contains nine files amongst them are both teVirtualMIDI32.dll and tevirtualMIDI64.dll.
Question is, where do I put the file teVirtualMIDI32.dll it is looking for ?.
My desktop is 64bit running windows 8.

Good morning Bernie
Thank you for replying so quickly. It looks like Ketron will be the answer, but what model ?.
As I will doing everything from either my desktop or laptop and as my CME UF50 keyboard communicates Via Widi not midi cables I would be happier if the sound module had a Usb port.
I am certain ( as you keep returning to it ) that the SD2 would fit the bill but I would like a Usb if at all possible.

Hi All
I am a new member, 72 years on the clock and before I had a stroke played a variety of keyboards. Unfortunately that is no longer possible but thanks to Varranger2 ( what a wonderful program ), by inputting the chords I am playing the melody with my left hand and enjoying myself immensely.
The sound module I am using with Varranger2 is a Roland JV1010 but I feel that it not is the best.
What sound module would you recommend I treat myself to, thus giving me the best sound from the software.
Take care
