This is the second time that UI submit my suggestions, hope this time Dan listen and process them

#1 . Modular User Interface: split the controls (groups of widgets) so we can hide/activate some of them ... in the real world I guess a lot of users play live like me, are using Varranger connected to external samplers/daws like: Ableton Live, Studio One, Kontakt .. and we just really need the midi part of Varranger.   And keep the remaining screen for custom mixers, midi control, lyrics or scores that are not available on Varranger, (see enclose prototype)  (highest priority)

#2. Update the UI  Look & feel with some king of themes, so we can customize colors, logo

These two topics are easy to be implemented ( I am also a software developer) so it guess it is fare to have a newer &modern face to Varranger Dan ..

#3 Improve software activation services, so far it is deactivating my license in a random way with any logical reason, forcing me to request a new installer, forcing subscriptions and so on

Dan

Following your new business model, i already paid for the suscriptions, and here the two most important suggestions, easy to implement  and with a big impact for users like me using varranger2 with external MIDI DAW (Ableton live) + plugins (Kontakt),

For users using varranger2 as a MIDI engine only to control external DAW + VST's  I suggest:

1. add configuration to varranger t hide/show  . the UI the controls to the  the minimum so we can get back more space in the screen for the DAW & VST plugins, lyrics .. see examples & more details within the enclosed attachment.

2. Create a new option (Disabled) for the AUDIO auto and Audio in config, so if we do not need audio (only midi) we do not use it .. currently audio OUT is mandatory

For example if you use external it would be great to have only these sections of UI controls visible:

Hope you can release it soon. With this new model, is ti possible to publish  a roadmap of features, so we know more or less what & when those features/suggestions will be released ?

Hi Dan .

I am starting to use the functionality to open .txt files (and PDF)  linked with the style file, the issue that I have is that the current font is not good to keep the spacing of chord (I use courier New (fixed space) to avoid those issues) .. is there any way to customize the font of your txt viewer . or perhaps use and external editor ...

Regards from Colombia.

I combine varranger with reason & ableton live in the background .. so my mixer for sounds are there .. is there any way to assign the varranger sliders to custom cc ... to control them  ?

Hi Dan .

Not sure if you ahve notice but the forus is not working well (tested in chrome, firefox & microsoft edge) ... when trying to reply a message or see member details it returns a blank page ...

Anyways, while that is fixed I had to start this new thread to request to you the latest version of varranger2 if you can forward that to me (thanks in advance)....I am already an owner but last year I had to use a Korg pa900 instead of varranger 2 due to technical limitations and setup time for playing live ....

After loading roland styles within the intro section window I just see 3 & 4 intro buttons .. I do not see the 1  & 2 is that normal   ?  or perhaps a bug from the latest release ?  see the attachment .

Hi Everyone.

My name is Pedro Rozo from Bogotá, Colombia,  I not a pro musician but I have been playing keyboard for a while and try to do my best with the basics of harmony, arrangements and theory, and I have a strong technology background (software architect & developer) anyways I am a bit new with v-arranger, I just bought it to replace my current OMB software   one month ago.

I used to use OMB to manage my yamaha styles since many years ago. This is a quick summary of  my current live  setup: Controller:  MAUDIO Code 61, MIDI cabling:   MIDI-OX+ LoopMidi ,  Audio Host (Ableton Live 9) + Vst's (propellerhead reason, UVi workstation and others), audio interface : Komplete 6 everything connected to a Lenovo Laptop with Windows 10 64bits..

So far things are working well  for my main basic use cases, however I see that  the  assumption  of the main window of v-arranger is to manage everything from there (styles, sounds, mixer) ..assuming that we use sound fonts, control changes and so on,  but when we are using external vst's/hosts (like me),  perhaps we do not really use all the v-arranger mixer and most of the central controls of that window .... what we really use are just the style sections  and the realtime feedback controls....   so we could use the rest of the window to control/see the other software feedback (reason, vst's and so on)...

I am wondering, is it would be possible for Dan within the next release or soon to make a small enhancement that will improve a lot the -v-arranger UI usability  for these use cases,  just creating a flexible layout for the main sections that already exists within the main window.

So we can hide/activate/deactivate/move them (like  layout components) within the v/arranger window ... for example hiding the mixer ...will release a lot of window space for the vst host/plugins control ...

I enclose a screenshot prototype of a minimum v-arranger layout for example (just activating the style & song feedback sections, hiding the rest), and leaving window space for other software windows: in my case  Ableton & Reason, so i I can use their mix and midi controls ..  your feedback and related suggestions are welcome

Thanks also to Dan and your team for v-arranger, so far is the most complete solution for midi-style control in live performances.

Regards,

Pedro R.
