Title: VST
Post by: SANTOS on February 12, 2021, 07:36:49 PM
Good afternoon.

I have several roland vst modules. JV-1080, XV-5080, SoundCanvas but when I load them only channel 1 (Piano) sounds

vArranger2 only works with Kentron SD hardware or can I use my vst modules?

Can you tell me how? I can't find it in the manual.

Thank you very much.

Not sure, but if you will find *.ins file for your VST synths (maybe on CakeWalk site)  you'll have access to any of its sounds..  Simply put the *.ins file into INS folder of vArranger...
Please ask Google for ins files for your VST synths..  For example here the ZIP file has ins for your JV-1080, XV-5080  http://www.lilchips.com/cakewalk/LCSCakewalkIns.zip
To say, if you will use your VST with another VST-Host (for example free Cantabile lite) there is one free software to choose any sound of your synth https://www.kvraudio.com/product/selector-by-vague-software
I think it is "must have" software :) It also needs *.ins file for your synth..
There are some ins file here http://sonarmusic.ru/index.php/instrument-definitions.html

Hello Santos,

From what I see, those new Roland Cloud VST can only play on ONE midi channel ( Part = 1 Part ), so you can use them only for your melody track
https://www.roland.com/global/products/rc_xv-5080/specifications/

But this one, seems to have 16 parts : https://www.roland.com/products/rc_sound_canvas_va/specifications/
Not sure if this VST is a lot better than the basic vArranger sounds...

Hello Dan!
The problem for Santos was not because Roland synth can play only one MIDI channel, but because he could play only piano sound for melody track. I explained how to use another sounds of that synth....

I don't think so, because he can still change the sound in the VST screen itself

Thank you both very much. Solved.

Thank you both very much. Solved.

Indeed JV-1080 and XV-5080 only have one part. But each track can be assigned. What's going on? That every time the measure ends it changes from monophonic to polyphonic and makes all the tracks sound at once. vArranger must send a midi data.

Sound canvas does work with all 16 parts, but the vArranger2 engine is better for accompaniment. Cleaner. It is highly compensated.

JV-1080 and XV-5080 bring more sharpness and brightness and sound more realistic, but it has this problem.

I keep looking for a solution just in case. :D

When a VST can only play one part, then just send only one track to this VST. Not many. It can't handle them all correctly...
In this case, you can activate the 'SEND TO MIDI CHANNEL 1' option in the VST option

Thank you. Send Midi Chanel is Ok for each part. Thanks
