Title: Retriggering notes in varranger - style dependent?
Post by: Alf on August 31, 2019, 07:28:01 PM
I'm still a bit unsure if vArranger is the ideal solution for my arranging purposes. So I'd like to ask some further question to decide if I will buy the software.

How does vArranger handle notes which are retriggered while playing a style?
Let's say I play a style and I switch my left hand from Cmin to Cmaj while the style and the corresponding notes are playing.

Afaik Yamaha has set retrigger rules in their styles whether to pitch shift these notes or to retrigger a new note.
Is vArranger able to handle the notes according to the info in the style?

And if vArranger is indeed able to handle a pitch shift, how seamlessly does it do this job?

Yes, It does follow the style and does it very well... Especially with the vArranger Software Synthesizer or any sound module that can handle the Pitch Shift event (XG synths...)
