Title: BIAB chords to VA
Post by: bluebeat on November 09, 2018, 10:33:25 AM
Hi Dan.
I remember some month ago you said that there is development with taking BIAB chord sheets and importing them to VA. Can you please let me know if it was done?
If yes, how to use it please.

Thank you!

Yes, actually possible, but want to add the repeat bars before advertise the feature.
But did not understand yet how it is coded inside BIAB files, after few days of search

Will it work if it is linear, no repeat bars?
If yes, please let me know how. Really interested.
Thank you.

Hi,

You can only read the chord files with the mgu, mg4, mg1, sgu, ... extensions. To load LOAD then the SONGCHORD window opens,

BIAB Sty files do not work. :)

You seems to don't like surprises ... or can't wait :)
By the way can you post one biab file that won't load?

Hello
yes , mgu files load song chords screen , I have seen that , there are also sometime sty files ( old files and very lite 3/4ko ) and these files don't work in varranger
I join 2 files for example

They should be songs that contains the style too.
There are tons of different biab formts... Every year a new format :)...
There are probably more things to discover

Dan, it is a good starting point, and partly is usable. However BIAB is using Rests, Stops, Holds, that do not translate well into vArranger.
My idea was using some lines from styles to add to songs of BIAB, but it is not syncing to timeline well enough if rests/stops were used in BIAB. A lot of "chopping" needs to be done in DAW.
As I said, it is a good starting point.

How do you load a BIAB song with the file extension .mg4 .mg1. When I try to load the file it comes back with non supported file.
