Title: Using PDF Feature
Post by: Deane on October 21, 2015, 04:41:16 AM
I have thousands of PDF Leadsheets.  All will display on vArranger but not all display great. So, is there a certain size PDF that displays the best?

I'm not sure but perhaps it's because Adobe Acrobat is not in resize mode.

Here are two examples.
All of me is not to bad but Blue Hawaii is not good
I need all the PDF files I use on vArrange to be pretty big.
I know I can resize them on the screen but that distorts the
printed image.  I'm not sure how to get this done within
Adobe.

Thanks,
Deane

When you scan a score, and save it as pdf, it is better to not let big blanks zones in the image.

If the source image in the pdf is well cropped, vArranger will display it better, with no waste white place around the score, and will then appears bigger

Yes, your scan is not good, it's not vArranger who have a problem.
You must edit your picture with a editor as Photoshop or Gimp (freeware).
Sometime I work a long time on a leadsheet fort have a good result.
For your I taking ten minutes and now it's good for vArranger (see attached file).

Thank you Lylo,
I'll give these a try to compare.  Yes, I know it is not vArranger and needed some advice how to
make a few of the bad ones better.

Another PDF question.  Once you associate a PDF file with a style how do you undo that - remove that association?

Rename the pdf or the style.
If it's just temporary, right click on "lyrics" and remove "display score of the song".

Right click on the style , and do DELETE

then you will have the list of the files linked to this style.

UNSELECT THE STYLE ITSELF, and the STYLE2 (pat2 sty2...)

Let the score (pdf, jpg, etc...) selected,

Then DELETE

Thanks Dan,
I would like to do away with my Ipad for displaying my leadsheets.  If I can get this to do what i need it will be great.  By the way,
I have decided to sell my Tyros 4 and use vArranger and my SD7 for gigs. I'll let you know how it works out.  By the way, I am not a midi person - could my SD7 be a controller for vArranger?
