I have the Bose L1 Compact.

I have BOSE ROOMATE II,
and it's perfect for small rooms or démonstration at usual sound level.

They have 2x30 Watts amplifier inside (with auto-limitation) in a  small ABS box 15x20x25.

Just plug power and line-in, and go on.

For higher sound level, i look for an auto-amplified Sub-bass box (12"), with electronic filter inside (150 Hz), triphonique configuration.

I've made some tests few years ago with theses Roomate, and it was incredible (for the size )

In fact, active filtering is always much better than passive.
