Title: Yamaha Multipad feature
Post by: jan1kow on March 03, 2012, 12:44:44 PM
Dan
Will there be any way in future of introducing Yamaha Multipad features in playing of yamaha styles with vArranger.
Apparently this adds additional variations to some existing Yamaha/Tyros styles.
The multipads files can be downloaded to use.

But if you add them, that will be another step ...

Yes will see for the virtual synth. We are not limited in term of midi channels :)

I dont know HOW complicated it is for this multipad feature but it seems quite IMPOSSIBLE from all virtual arrangers i have contacted so far personally despite having purchased them (e.g RMCA who told me he will NOT work on this functionality even in the future!). Maybe, USING Reaper with vARRANGER2 could help, so i try to post this request here. Hope to hear any answer from anyone!!!

If the main source code were available somehow for any of those software (opensource), i think i could add this feature (being programmer myself), 4 simultaneous independent Midi players that can run in parallel + MIDI Mapping to scale and chord like (http://www.codefn42.com) + adjustable rate (tempo match)

Please, anyone knowing of an opensource project quite similar to a virtual arranger could send a link.

Here is the post on other forum if it can help some to understand the issue of having MULTIPADS. Thanks!

Virtual Arrangers like Varranger2, OneManBand 11, RMCA Pro, LiveStyler, etc miss an important functionality of playing melody riffs much like standard arranger keyboards (e.g Yamaha PSR Series) with Multi-Pads (https://psrtutorial.com/sty/OF/multipad.html).

These Pads have (essentially) options to:
Follow Chords on/off
Match Tempo on/off?
Repeat on/off

My question:
Can reaper be used in conjunction with one of these v. arrangers and have say 4 tracks with plugins like those of http://www.codefn42.com (maybe cales/NoteMapper/etc) to match the played chord in REAL-TIME. Loops in these 4 tracks MUST be of same fixed length for reaper (NO SESSION play like Ableton/Bitwig in reaper) but THAT'S ok!

Yamaha uses something like this: https://psrtutorial.com/MB/padmakermidi.html or https://psrtutorial.com/MB/padmaker.html

How Multi-Pad is used in a live Configuration:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DFE-IpEuSo (Midi Clips)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KeLJenWFbs (Audio Clips)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-Lx7eatbGs (Fx Sounds)

Maybe something to add over SessionTime Session Player. Or another Live Arranger/Software that has this functionality which i have not looked well for.
